(Third-person perspective)
Dacey leaned against the stone wall, her gaze fixed on the training ground where Aermir, Robb, and Jon were practicing their swordsmanship. Sansa approached her, and Dacey turned to meet Sansa's gaze with a hint of challenge. Sansa said, " Aermir is a remarkable man. Those who recognize his worth naturally want to be near him."
Dacey gripped her sword tighter, a sense of defeat brewing beneath the surface.
"Then what makes you so sure you're the one who can get close to him?"
Dacey's smile remained calm and composed; her words were carefully chosen. She continued.
"Oh, I don't claim to have any special insight. But I believe that sometimes, only those who truly understand him, those who see beyond his surface, have a chance."
Dacey's heart pounded as she recalled her countless conversations with Aermir, and the moment he told them he was the Emre the Druid. She felt a surge of pride, knowing she was one of the few who knew this information.
"Do you think you know him better than anyone else?" Dacey asked challengingly.
A resolute glint flashed in Sansa's eyes. "I understand him in my own way. After all, he showed me what true freedom is."
A flicker of frustration mixed with determination crossed Dacey's eyes. "You think that's enough to win his heart?"
Sansa's smile was enigmatic. "Who can say for sure?"
The tension between them was palpable. This was the first time they had dared to so openly declare their intentions, to show their rivalry for Aermir's affections. From this day forward, it was an open war. Dacey straightened her back, her voice laced with defiance. "Well, let me make this clear, Sansa. The relationship between Aermir and me is more complex than you imagine."
Sansa's gaze remained resolute. "We'll see."
Dacey knows that Aermir is the Emre the Druid, and therefore deeply admires and is infatuated with him. On the other hand, Sansa also has a deep relationship with Aermir, as he played a key role in breaking the shackles that bound her and freeing her from her suffocating life. Under his influence, she not only learned the art of asserting herself, but also underwent a remarkable transformation, from a naive girl who once only dreamed of princes into a confident woman.
After the incident at the archery range, Aermir gained a new understanding of the relationship between himself, Sansa, and Dacey. As he reflected on the events and banter of the previous day, he realized that the interaction between Sansa and Dacey had transcended mere friendship. The subtle tension and underlying desires between them, which Aermir had previously overlooked, became apparent.
Although Aermir was oblivious to the romantic entanglements between them, he realized that Sansa and Dacey were trying to win his favor in their own ways. Sansa's loyalty and dignity had always been a source of comfort for him, but now he saw a deeper affection in her than friendship. Similarly, the formidable Mormont warrior Dacey revealed a vulnerable side, which greatly surprised Aermir.
The tension between the three becomes apparent as Aermir comes to understand Sansa and Dacey's unique ways of expressing love. With this new understanding, Aermir's perception of Sansa and Dacey also shifts; he recognizes them as women with their own dreams and desires. This intimate behavior stems from his aging soul, and the fact that he may have grown up alongside them. He saw them as soldiers and little sisters, but now his understanding is gradually changing.
Aermir had no fixed destination; he wandered aimlessly through the alleys of Winterfell, immersed in an atmosphere that seemed to echo his contemplation. Just as he was drifting aimlessly, a glimpse of movement caught his attention. Young Rickon Stark was heading towards the crypts of Winterfell.
Aermir was drawn to the boy's actions, his curiosity piqued, prompting him to follow Rickon at a distance. The boy's intentions were intriguing, and this mystery drew him in to explore further. As he followed Rickon, the faintly visible entrance to the cellar seemed to hold secrets, waiting for him to uncover them.
Over the years, Aermir had always maintained a friendly attitude towards young Rickon Stark. However, a significant change that had occurred in the last two years puzzled Aermir. Despite his efforts to cultivate a warm and harmonious relationship with Rickon, the boy's behavior changed noticeably whenever they met.
In stark contrast to their previous interactions, filled with laughter and friendship, recent contact felt different. Rickon's reaction suggested that Aermir was no longer seen as a friendly presence, but rather as a Ghost. The warmth that once existed between them had given way to an inexplicable distance.
Aermir didn't overlook this change. The stark contrast between their past understanding and the current atmosphere puzzled him greatly, leaving him wondering what had caused this shift. The mystery deepened as he quietly observed Rickon leading him towards the tomb.
As Aermir ventures deeper into Winterfell's crypts, the atmosphere gradually shifts. Ancient stone statues line the corridors, each representing Stark ancestor. Flickering torches cast dancing shadows on the statues' solemn faces, creating a somber, interplay of light and shadow. A faint chill hangs in the air, testament to the crypts' underground nature, but it doesn't feel unsettling. Instead, it seems to envelop the entire space in a peculiar embrace.
The tomb itself is a labyrinth of interconnected passageways, each turn leading to another, each containing the remains of a long-deceased Stark. The walls bear the weight of history, echoing the whispers of the past. The tranquility of the tomb embodies a unique reverence, a serene stillness that envelops everything.
Aermir continued onward, reflecting on the contrast between his own feelings and those of others who had embarked on the same path. Jory and Theon, for example, often felt fear and unease in this underground world. The tomb seemed to evoke their unease, a feeling of being watched by the eyes of stone statues.
However, the cellar held a different kind of welcome for Aermir. Despite the chill in the air, he felt a strange warmth, an inexplicable sense of calling. The statues lining the corridors didn't unsettle him; on the contrary, they seemed to silently acknowledge his presence, as if the spirits of the past had recognized his identity. The cellar was a place steeped in solemn history, yet Aermir regarded it as a sanctuary, where the House Stark resonated deeply with him. He remembered the magic at the point where the tomb had collapsed. After speaking with Rickon, he decided to investigate again.
Turning a corner of the cellar, Aermir discovered a scene that was both intriguing and captivating. The youngest Rickon Stark stood there, playing with his loyal Direwolf, Shaggydog. The child's imagination seemed to be ignited by an ancient sword he had found in a statue, and his youthful energy filled the tomb with life.
As Aermir approached, the Direwolf's keen senses detected his presence, prompting the Shaggydog to alert Rickon. The boy reacted quickly, retreating to the cover of a nearby statue, his eyes filled with wariness.
Aermir approached Rickon, his movements cautious and measured, as if treading on fine ground. His aim was to bridge the growing rift between them, and he spoke to the young Stark in a gentle tone.
" Rickon, can I say something to you?"
Rickon's eyes flickered with wariness and uncertainty; his demeanor was a far cry from their former candor. The warmth and familiarity of the past were gone. Aermir couldn't ignore this change; he wanted to understand it.
He continued, his voice soft yet full of curiosity.
"I've noticed that our communication style has changed lately. Something seems to have changed between us. Can you tell me what you're thinking?"
Rickon's answer was hesitant; his lips parted as if he wanted to speak, but no words came out. His reluctance to communicate was obvious, and Aermir's worries deepened.
" Rickon, I want to help, but I can only help if you let me in. Please tell me what's bothering you," Aermir pleaded, her eyes filled with sympathy and genuine concern.
As Aermir approached, the boy's Andar its peak. A fleeting movement, a step back— Rickon seemed to be on the verge of running away. But Aermir's agility prevailed; his hand gently encircled Rickon's arm, not with force, but with a tender reassurance.
"Wait, Rickon," Aermir urged softly, his grip light yet firm.
"I don't want to force you to do anything. But I'm here to listen and understand you. Let's talk about anything that's bothering you."
Their eyes met for a moment, a silent exchange between elder and child. Aermir's expression was one of patience and sincerity; his intention was clear—to bridge the gap that had formed and mend anything that had severed their connection.
Just then, the atmosphere changed drastically. The Shaggydog, fiercely protective of Rickon, saw Aermir's behavior as a threat and launched an attack. Aermir's defenses were activated: his body was protectively enveloped in the Rhovagon grēze (his Bark Armor ), the armor's effectiveness evident; a faint crack in his jaws was the only proof of the beast's powerful jaws. To be able to shatter his shield in one bite, this beast was truly strong.
Aermir reacted with lightning speed, unleashing his "buff" arsenal within seconds. Despite his immense strength, the Direwolf's bite force exceeded his physical limits. Instinct guided his actions; he used the terrain to his advantage, digging a small pit under the wolf's hind legs with earth magic, causing it to lose its balance. With its balance disrupted, Aermir successfully tossed the beast off his arm.
Aermir pleaded with Rickon to call his loyal companion back. However, the boy hesitated out of fear and couldn't control the Shaggydog. The situation took a sharp turn for the worse as the Direwolf pounced again.
Using his magical abilities, he cast a domination spell, forcing the Direwolf to cease its attack. Since Rickon himself had not yet entered the beast's body, his control was effective. Aermir's spell took effect, forcing the Shaggydog to submit.
If Rickon's consciousness were intertwined with that of his Direwolf, then Aermir's control over the animal might be far more challenging, perhaps even impossible to achieve with simple Dominate Animal spells. The Direwolf now obeyed his magical commands, and the cellar instantly quieted down. Now he could talk to Rickon.
