( From Mander Flint's perspective)
We arrived with 2,000 soldiers under Lord Stark's orders to aid Glover. The battle was over when we arrived, and they were victorious thanks to that commoner knight's plan. I don't know what's wrong with Jory and Hallis. How could two nobles allow a commoner to take power, and this boy is Warg, if you can believe it? If he is Warg, then he must be of Wildlings blood.
After we arrived, Ironborn led nearly 2,000 soldiers in a second attack. We lost about 300 soldiers and more than 400 were wounded, but we still managed to repel them. I turned to Wayland and said.
"Did you hear what those soldiers who fought in the previous battles were saying? They dared to compare me to that poor civilian knight! They said if he were here, we wouldn't have lost so many soldiers. He was just lucky. How dare they compare me to him? Should I punish them?"
Wayland looked into my eyes, sighed deeply, and then said.
"Father, would you like to hear sincere advice or flattery?"
His words shocked me. Ever since he was defeated by that cursed child, Wayland had changed drastically.
"I want sincere advice."
"Then please forgive my offense. Father, you've never been stupid, but why have you acted like one? You've never been a warrior. You always treated Uncle as the commander of your troops, while you devoted yourself to ruling this town and our fortress. You've never been a warrior, but instead of sending Uncle to command this force, you went yourself—your first battle. You won the battle with brute force, ignoring our advice. Of course, we lost many men."
He walked over to me, sat on the stool in front of me, and continued talking.
"As for Ser Drasil, stop calling him 'boy' or 'commoner knight' in front of others. Don't you see he's becoming a hero to the people of the North? We've also heard that he saved almost all the coastal villages from the Ironborn's attack. Yes, he's a Warg. Most nobles and commoners in the upper North harbor resentment towards Warg because we associate them with Warg, but most Wildlings in the rest of the North consider him a man blessed by the Old Gods. He has contributed the most in this war, and the war isn't even over yet. Don't you understand? After the war, he will become the greatest hero of the North."
"You can't expect me to grovel before that commoner!"
"I didn't. Did you see me grovel before him? No, but I wouldn't openly insult him either. In a few years, even Great Jon Umber wouldn't be able to stand against him, yet you continue to insult a man like this. It's unwise, Father, he's a knight now. What if he duels you because you insulted him? You won't last three blows. Just act like any other knight and respect him."
Just then, a soldier rushed into the room in a panic.
"Sir, please come out and take a look."
"Have we been attacked?"
"No, but you won't believe me if I tell you what happened. Sir, you have to see for yourself."
Wayland and I immediately followed the soldier, and as he said, we would never have believed it if we hadn't seen it with our own eyes. Jory and Hallis ran over and stood with us, their mouths agape. "We could see it more clearly as the man got closer to the shore, "Jory said.
Does that Shadowcat look like Aermir's cat?
Hallis said.
"Maybe not."
"How many Shadow Lynx do you know? I think this person is Emre the Druid. He fits the description perfectly."
"Greetings, fellow countrymen of the North. I have come in the name of the Old Gods to offer my assistance."
I mustered my courage, approached the person who had stepped down from the giant cat, and bowed to us. I asked.
"Sir, are you the Emre the Druid?"
"Yes, that's me. I'm here to help the wounded."
"Sir, where do you come from?"
Bear Island.
Everyone was stunned, and we didn't know what else to say, so he continued.
"I was defending Bear Island against the Ironborn's attack. I could have arrived earlier, but I was wounded in battle and had to rest. Thankfully, a kind Warg left his familiar to protect me while I rested. Because my mount had died in battle, he kindly allowed me to use his familiar."
Upon hearing this, Jory asked.
"Sir, do you know the name of that Warg?"
"Oh, I know, his name is Aermir."
"So, this is the Sith."
"Yes, this is his familiar."
Hallis said.
"I didn't know she was so amazing. She can actually Water Walking."
"Oh no, it wasn't her doing. I cast a spell on her, making her Water Walking. That way, we were able to get here in an hour. If you know her owner, I'd like to entrust her to your care. He told me to leave her near the coastal village, but if you're his friend, I think it would be better to give her to you."
"Where is Aermir?"
"The last time I saw him, he was still chasing the fleeing Ironborn on Bear Island. He must still be there."
(Male protagonist's perspective)
"Please take me to see the wounded; I want to treat their wounds."
Mander Flint fluttered back and forth in front of me, unsure of what to do. Seeing this, I felt I had made the right decision to come here. If I had walked into the village, he would have certainly acted arrogantly.
They immediately took me to where the wounded were, and without wasting any time, I healed the seriously wounded. When they saw the Wildfire Spirit, they were all terrified and retreated.
For the wounded who are on the verge of death, this is all I can do; I stitch up their wounds, but they may still die from infection or depletion of life energy. If the Old Gods are real, then their fate is in Old Gods hands. As my level increases, my understanding of magic and spells also deepens, and now I can understand why a weak healing spell might work when cast repeatedly, but the patient will still die.
If the healing spell is weak, repeated use will not be enough to sustain the body. The patient will die from organ failure. If the magic is powerful enough, the body will not deplete itself for healing, because the magic also provides energy to the body. If they do not die in the next few days, I can cast the spell again when their bodies have recovered their lost energy.
This wasn't efficient enough. Healing 20 people exhausted all my mana. Therefore, to solve this problem, I had to use one of my new rituals. As a level 4 Druid, I can now create " Rite of Bestowal " based on my Buff and healing spells. This way, I can heal 100 people in a day.
