She thought of the websites Miaomiao had given her before.

She had indeed visited them and even watched some things, though she had never managed to watch anything all the way through.

But she had definitely watched them.

How did he even know about that?!

After going so long without an answer, Wen Ce had a pretty good idea. Knowing she was probably very embarrassed, he did not turn around, and merely said, "It's nothing, really. A few viruses, neither major nor minor, tried to modify your computer programs..."

"Miaomiao said there weren't any viruses. There weren't any strange pop-ups on the pages, either." Luo Lianqing's voice was quiet and troubled.

Wen Ce could not help smiling. "It's not a big problem. I'll install a new antivirus program for you, so you won't have to worry about viruses when you go online. Even on strange websites."

"No, I don't make a habit of visiting those websites. Miaomiao gave them to me when I first came back to the country." Luo Lianqing protested without thinking. "My father gave me a task right after I got back. You know, I told you before that he works in imports and exports. It had to do with those things, and I didn't really understand, so Miaomiao suggested I get into a relationship..."

Wen Ce's grip on the mouse suddenly tightened, the veins standing out on his hand.

The amusement in his previously smiling eyes disappeared, too.

"But I didn't want to. Besides, I'd only just come back. Who was I supposed to date..." Luo Lianqing explained quietly. She glanced at the black code flickering across the screen and suddenly felt as though she were standing naked in front of Wen Ce.

An urge to find somewhere to hide, so embarrassed she wished the ground would swallow her, raced wildly through her mind. Her voice grew quieter and quieter. "Then Miaomiao gave me these websites. Basically, even if you've never eaten pork, you've at least seen pigs run..."

Wen Ce relaxed his grip on the mouse, and the slight chill in his expression vanished as though it had never been there.

He pushed up his glasses and murmured an acknowledgment. "Did you find it helpful afterward?"

His tone was so natural that it did much to ease Luo Lianqing's embarrassment, as though they were merely having an ordinary conversation.

Luo Lianqing sighed. "Not really. I still haven't managed to design anything my father is satisfied with."

But her tone was very flat when she said this, as though she did not particularly care. "Or maybe I just don't have much talent."

Wen Ce had noticed before that whenever her parents came up, Luo Lianqing's tone turned very flat. It was obvious she did not want to discuss them much with anyone.

Wen Ce did not pursue the subject. "Take your time. I've finished installing it."

As he spoke, he clicked a few times, and the computer returned to its normal screen.

Luo Lianqing found it amazing. She walked over beside Wen Ce. "Wen Ce, you're so good at this. Is there anything you can't do?"

Wen Ce stood up and said with a smile, "There are plenty of things I can't do. Check whether any files or documents are missing."

Luo Lianqing murmured an acknowledgment, then sat down in the chair and began checking.

Wen Ce had just been about to look away and take a look around the study when she accidentally opened a page. Right there on it was a recent search: "What's the difference between infantry and cavalry?"

??? Maybe my mind's too dirty. Or maybe it's just an ordinary search?

Luo Lianqing's hand trembled, and she turned to glance at Wen Ce.

Her eyes met his. Before she could even make out what his gaze held, she whipped around and clicked the X on the page.

She pretended nothing had happened.

Her reaction made it clear to Wen Ce that he really was not overthinking it. It really did mean that.

He felt like sighing. How could someone seem so... uninhibited, yet actually be a blank sheet of paper?

The contrast was far from small, but she really was so cute.

Sure enough, Wen Ce asked no more questions. He looked around the study as though he had noticed nothing. "Did you have someone specially convert this room? I remember the apartments here all having the same layout."

"Yes. Sometimes I work overtime, and having the computer in my bedroom would make me anxious, so I deliberately separated my bedroom from where I work." Luo Lianqing quickly checked the main files on her computer. Fortunately, nothing was missing.

She breathed a sigh of relief. She had been about to shut it down, but paused and asked Wen Ce, "Is there anything else you need to do?"

Wen Ce looked back at her. "Nothing else. There's nothing seriously wrong with your computer. If you're not using it, you can just shut it down."

Luo Lianqing said, "Oh," and clicked the shutdown button, then remarked with feeling, "I went with Miaomiao to get her computer repaired before, and they took ages. They even kept it overnight once. I feel like you're much better than they are, Wen Ce."

Her tone was certain.

Wen Ce smiled behind her, too. "Then if I can't find a job, I'll open a computer repair shop. I probably won't starve..."

Luo Lianqing watched the computer screen go black. It reflected both their silhouettes, and from this angle, Wen Ce seemed to be looking at her from behind.

"I almost forgot you're all about to start writing your theses and doing internships." Recalling the topic of today's class meeting, Luo Lianqing frowned slightly. She pushed off with her foot, swiveling the computer chair to turn around.

But she used too much force and was about to spin all the way around. Before she could put her foot out to stop herself, Wen Ce suddenly reached out with both hands and caught the sides of the chair, bringing it to a stop.

Wen Ce bent slightly at the waist and looked at her in that position. Their eyes met. "And then?"

He looked at Luo Lianqing as he asked.

Luo Lianqing's eyes were dazed. She looked up slightly at Wen Ce, suddenly forgetting what she had wanted to say.

This position made Luo Lianqing feel as though Wen Ce might kiss her the next moment...

It was a position perfect for kissing...

She blushed at the scenes unsuitable for children racing through her mind and turned her face slightly away, not daring to meet Wen Ce's eyes. "Nothing. I was worried you might have trouble finding an internship. Oh, did you take leave before to go home?"

Wen Ce was a little disappointed when she turned her face away. If they were together, he could kiss her right now...

He let go and straightened up. "No, I went to take care of something with a friend. The one you saw outside my place last time. His name's Zhao Li."

He had even told her his friend's name. It sounded like an explanation.

Luo Lianqing could not keep the corners of her lips from lifting. "Oh, I thought you'd gone home. Does your family have any opinions about your internship? Like wanting you to come home or something..."

Luo Lianqing's brows drew together slightly. She remembered deliberately looking up Wen Ce's enrollment records before. His parents' occupations had been listed as self-employed. His family probably had their own company, right?

Luo Lianqing felt a little guilty for secretly looking at Wen Ce's enrollment records. But on second thought, a teacher learning about a student's family background was nothing to feel guilty about, was it?

She looked up at Wen Ce, waiting for his answer.
