Wen Ce, can you fix computers?
Wen Ce had just finished washing the dishes. He dried his hands and picked up his phone, intending to look up the movie Luo Lianqing had just mentioned.
Once she came over, they could watch it together. Come to think of it, drawing the curtains for a horror movie to create an enclosed space seemed like a pretty easy way to close the distance between them.
A smile appeared at the corner of Wen Ce's mouth. Should I confess after the movie?
He glanced at the flowers blooming in the vase. Confessing empty-handed like this seemed rather strange. The flowers were already in the vase, and they would eat the cake in a bit...
Wen Ce frowned, chagrin appearing in his eyes. He hadn't had time to prepare a gift...
Egg Yolk lay beside Wen Ce's legs, his big, fluffy tail swishing gently and brushing across Wen Ce's hand.
He remembered that he didn't seem to have ever given Luo Lianqing a gift. He had even said that the cat teaser last time was for Egg Yolk.
Wen Ce sighed and couldn't resist opening his browser to search, "Should you prepare a gift for your first confession?"
Before the page could even load, a somewhat urgent knock came at the door.
Wen Ce stood, walked over, and pulled the door open. Luo Lianqing stood outside, her eyes filled with helplessness and unease. "Wen Ce, can you fix computers?"
Wen Ce: ???
What kind of development was this?
"Yes. What's wrong?" Seeing the anxiety written all over her face, Wen Ce asked in a low voice, "Did your computer get a virus?"
Luo Lianqing nodded pitifully. "Yes."
She looked as though she wanted to say something but held back, her face a little red. "It's just... a bit embarrassing. How about you come in and take a look for me?"
Without thinking much of it, Wen Ce nodded and picked up the keys on the shoe cabinet, ready to head over. "It's fine. I can fix most ordinary computers."
He could actually fix the less ordinary ones too.
Of course, he couldn't say that yet.
Luo Lianqing felt a sense of relief, but thinking of the images on her computer, her expression remained a little odd.
She lowered her eyes to Egg Yolk, who was about to follow them over. "You stay here. Not suitable for children!"
Then she nudged Egg Yolk back into Wen Ce's apartment with her leg and closed the door behind him.
Wen Ce blinked. Not suitable for children?
He glanced at Luo Lianqing's slightly flushed face and finally understood why she looked a little strange.
Could the virus on her computer work to the same wondrous effect as the one I gave Zhou Chi?
Luo Lianqing sighed, looked up at Wen Ce, then quickly looked away. "It's just... pretty embarrassing. Take a look. If you can't fix it, I'll call someone. If all else fails, I'll just replace the computer."
She sounded a little dejected. "But I still have so many files on it."
Just now, Luo Lianqing had spent a minute hesitating in front of her computer over whether to call someone to fix it or ask Wen Ce.
In the end, she really felt that calling someone over would be too embarrassing, and she genuinely didn't want a stranger entering her home.
So she had knocked on Wen Ce's door. Guys ought to have some experience with this sort of thing, right?
The embarrassment on her face was all too obvious. Wen Ce only found her adorable and couldn't resist reaching out to ruffle her hair. "It's okay. I'll take a look. It probably isn't anything serious."
Luo Lianqing visibly relaxed and led Wen Ce into her apartment. "I didn't do anything. I just edited an image. Then, when I was sending it to the client, I accidentally clicked something in my email. Could someone have sent me a virus?"
Wen Ce hummed in acknowledgment. "Not necessarily. I'll take a look for you."
Luo Lianqing's apartment had basically the same layout as Wen Ce's, except she had set up a little studio, unlike Wen Ce, who simply kept his computer in his bedroom.
Wen Ce glanced toward the bedroom, feeling a little disappointed. He had been hoping to see what her bedroom looked like.
Then he inwardly spurned himself for that improper thought.
Luo Lianqing led him into the studio. It wasn't large. A small bookshelf was packed with books, and there were even some on the computer desk.
Some boxes that had been opened and put back were scattered across the floor as well.
Wen Ce took a glance. There was both Chinese and English on them. Hmm, they were much the same sort of things as that box of gifts Luo Lianqing had given him last time.
The most eye-catching thing was the martial arts scene playing on the computer screen, both actors wearing highly exaggerated expressions.
There was no sound, though. Luo Lianqing must have muted it.
She stole a glance at Wen Ce. "I didn't open this. It suddenly popped up on its own. I muted it and tried to shut down the computer, but it wouldn't shut down."
Looking at her face, flushed red with embarrassment, Wen Ce showed no odd expression. He simply said, "It's fine. It's just a little virus. I can sort it out quickly."
He walked up to Luo Lianqing's desk and asked, "May I use it?"
Seeing no unusual expression on his face, Luo Lianqing relaxed too. Wen Ce really was so nice.
She nodded. "Yes, go ahead. I actually have antivirus software installed."
Wen Ce hummed and said gently, "It's all right. Those antivirus programs..."
He paused. "They're okay too, but if you ever need a virus removed, just come straight to me. I'm more useful than antivirus software."
The images had already filled the screen.
Luo Lianqing couldn't see anywhere to type, but Wen Ce didn't seem to have that problem. As soon as his slender, beautiful hands landed on the keyboard, they began clattering away.
He wasn't even looking at the keyboard, but at the screen.
Luo Lianqing followed his gaze. There wasn't really anything worth looking at on the screen. The images were too explicit, and she looked away in embarrassment.
Listening to the crisp clacking of the keyboard, Luo Lianqing couldn't help thinking that even if Wen Ce failed to fix her computer in the end, he still looked so handsome like this.
Love really did make people blind.
The word "love" flashed through her mind, and Luo Lianqing couldn't help raising her hands to cover her burning cheeks.
Then she looked up and saw that those eye-searing images had disappeared.
She froze for a moment, not knowing when they had vanished.
What filled the screen now was code flickering past.
"Wen Ce, you're amazing! You really do know how to fix computers!" Luo Lianqing sounded pleasantly surprised.
Wen Ce's fingers paused on the keyboard. He turned to look at Luo Lianqing, raising his eyebrows slightly. "So you thought I couldn't?"
Luo Lianqing blinked her big eyes, turned it over in her mind, and finally said, "I knew you could, but I didn't expect you to be this good."
She obviously wasn't telling the truth. Wen Ce smiled at her and sighed before turning back. "Did you think at first that I was just randomly mashing the keys to show off?"
Luo Lianqing waved her hands. "No, I just thought it was impressive that you could type when there wasn't anything there..."
She just hadn't expected him to actually fix it either.
Wen Ce gave a little hum and said nothing more.
After concentrating on typing a few lines of code, he looked at several web addresses and asked somewhat hesitantly, "Have you... visited certain websites before?"
Something occurred to Luo Lianqing, and her face instantly turned scarlet.
