Qi Ling joined Shrek Academy, protected its students in arena battles, and helped them secure Oscar’s third Soul Ring. When a dragon’s roar led him and Meng Yiran to her wounded grandfather, Qi Ling agreed to save Meng Shu.
Qi Ling helped the Shrek group survive the Star Dou Forest, then returned with new power and began shaping his companions’ growth. After Zhu Zhuqing chose a dangerous path to strength, the arc left the students struggling through Yu Xiaogang’s punishing endurance training.

After Zhu Zhuqing returned to the academy, Qi Ling remained in the Star Dou Great Forest and encountered a red-haired girl hunting the Hundred-Eyed Demon King.
Qi Ling defeated the Imperial Fighting Team alone, then helped Zhu Zhuqing win her match against Jin He through Martial Soul fusion. He left for the Star Dou Great Forest to seek special training and took on a search for the Twin-Tailed Money Rat with Xiao Ye.
Qi Ling helped Xiao Ye pursue the Twin-Tailed Money Rat, then reunited with Shrek and guided them through a deadly arena fight and their move to Heaven Dou Academy. After Prince Xue Xing and Dugu Bo drove Shrek out, Qi Ling won a poison wager against Dugu Bo, and the group set out to visit Blue Tyrant Academy.
Qi Ling and Tang San were taken by Dugu Bo to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where they cured Dugu Bo and helped Dugu Yan evolve. After returning to Shrek Academy and sharing immortal herbs with its students, Qi Ling agreed to teach at Heaven Dou Academy and founded Dragon's Glory.
Qi Ling built Dragon’s Glory’s influence by defeating the Strength Clan’s leaders and negotiating alliances with Ning Fengzhi, while helping Luna and drawing Ning Rongrong closer to him. The arc ended with the Strength Clan joining Dragon’s Glory and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect agreeing to trade for Qi Ling’s pills and Tang San’s hidden weapons.
Qi Ling formed Dragon's Glory, awakened Luna's Nine-Lived Spirit Cat, and accepted the task of rebuilding Heaven Dou Academy’s Imperial Fighting Team. After assembling a team around Luna and the Hua sisters, he reunited with Shrek as its students prepared to hunt for their fourth Soul Rings.
Qi Ling led the group through dangerous Soul Ring hunts in Sunset Forest, then survived the Tyrannical Savage and trained the Shrek Seven Devils with his new abilities. The story left off as the Qilin Team prepared to face the Purple Star Team in the tournament’s opening match.
Qi Ling’s dominance carried the Qilin Team through the preliminary rounds as Shrek Academy also defeated formidable opponents. After Qi Ling killed Shi Nian and crushed Canghui Academy’s fusion technique, Huo Wu asked him for help, and Blazing Fire Academy forfeited their next match.
Qi Ling led the Qilin Team through the qualifying rounds and into the advancement tournament, where Luna and Yu Feng secured major victories while Shrek also advanced. As the teams prepared for a rematch, Shui Bing’er’s Ice Phoenix backlash threatened her life, and Qi Ling began seeking a way to save her without marrying her.
Qi Ling led the Qilin Team through the tournament finals while his teammates and rivals revealed new powers and alliances. After Shrek defeated Spirit Hall, the Qilin Team faced Night Raid, where Ye Lan charged Qi Ling as the match turned against his team.
Qi Ling led the Qilin Team to victory, then helped Xiao Wu escape Qian Xunji’s attempt to capture her. After establishing his fief as Dragon's Glory’s first base, Qi Ling joined Qian Renxue in Doomsday Valley, where they intervened in a battle between two powerful Soul Beasts.
Qi Ling and Qian Renxue gained Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings before parting, and Qi Ling tempered his body with Tang Hao and completed the King's Trial with Jian Lan. Qi Ling later joined Qian Renxue and Jian Lan to investigate Sleepless City and approached Slaughter City through a hidden underground passage.
Qi Ling and his companions entered Slaughter City, built up their victories, and set out across Hell Road with Tang San and Hu Liena. Qi Ling’s Blood Devil Emperor power consumed the blood pool and devastated Slaughter City, leaving him with a greatly strengthened fifth Soul Ring but still short of the power needed to defeat the old dragon.
Qi Ling escaped Hell Road, brought his growing power under control, and accompanied Tang San back to the Clear Sky Sect. After securing Tang San’s conditional return, they reunited with their Shrek companions and prepared for an exhibition match.
Qi Ling reunited with Xiao Wu and faced Spirit Hall’s attempt to capture her, while Da Ming and Er Ming were seized by a mysterious blood-red hand. With Xiao Wu beginning to sacrifice herself to save him, Qi Ling made a deadly bargain to gain the power to protect her.
Qi Ling saved Xiao Wu and his companions, then gathered Dragon's Glory to defend the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect against Qian Xunji's Spirit Hall. The battle began with two enemy Titled Douluo dead and three thousand Soul Masters lost, while Qi Ling prepared for the next attack.
Qi Ling helped defend the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect from the Divine Court, then set out with Tang San to recruit the Four Single-Attribute Clans for Dragon’s Glory. The Defense and Strength Clans joined, and Qi Ling began negotiating with the Speed Clan after exposing Bai He’s currency note as counterfeit.
