"Miss Bronya, do you think... Belobog's situation can be considered hopeless?"
Upon hearing this, Bronya pondered seriously:
"I apologize, Mr. Ye Yan. Forgive my ignorance, I have never witnessed the vastness of the Milky Way... therefore I cannot make an accurate assessment."
"From my perspective alone, that war changed everything, and the emergence of the Fragmentum Monsters plunged Belobog into endless despair... to this day."
Why is it said that the Antimatter Legion has committed countless evil deeds, and the tragedy of Jarilo-VI is insignificant? The invasion of the Antimatter Legion is unfolding in every corner of the universe, and innocent lives are lost every moment.
The extinguishing of a faint starlight is something people have long been accustomed to.
The universe is full of tragedies, and the impact of the Antimatter Legion, from another perspective, is also insignificant. Before them, there are those far more powerful forces.
The Mechanical Emperor's War waged by Emperor Rupert in Genius Society #27 swept across the universe, causing immense suffering and devastation to many worlds.
Over the course of a dozen Amber Era, the emperor's solemnity could not be defied, leaving indelible marks... but the empire's life was merely two [moments] calculated by the Nous.
Ye Yan didn't even glance at Rupert at that time. Although it was an inorganic life form, its actions had nothing to do with " Eternity," so why bother with it?
Ye Yan had no intention of getting involved in the affairs of the Mythus and the Nous, and he wouldn't let Him participate in those two things either. It was all Aha's fault for lowering His reputation among the Aeon colleagues.
Ultimately, the scale of the Emperor's Wars did not reach the level of Swarm Disaster; poor [ Order ] Ena and [ Propagation ] Tayzzyronth.
"That concludes the recap, Miss Bronya. Now... let's get down to business!"
"Since you know we are Interstellar Traveler, then you understand... situations like Belobog's are countless in the universe."
As the saying goes, seeing is believing. Bedtime stories can't be told just by being told; you have to experience them firsthand... to truly understand their Eternity.
Snap!
The snap of fingers sounded, Bronya blinked... The dimly lit Underworld gradually blurred, Ye Yan's figure receded into the distance, and darkness seeped from the corner of the wall, enveloping her.
Bronya opened her eyes to the acrid smell of decaying leaves; she found herself in a completely new scene.
"No need to panic, Miss Bronya," Ye Yan said, acting as a narrator. "These are just fragments of past Remembrance. If you feel uncomfortable... we can leave at any time."
"Now, you can try taking the first step and see if you see that figure not far away. Go and see her."
As soon as she finished speaking, an orange-yellow exclamation mark appeared fifty meters away from Bronya, guiding her.
Bronya paused for a few seconds, then quickened her pace and walked forward. On both sides were fallen trees and the remains of some Swarm.
Moonlight pierced through the charred branches of the tree, and in the center of the field stood a young girl with soft silver hair that cascaded down to her waist, the ends of which shimmered with a faint blue hue, while her Jade- like pupils remained devoid of light.
Every time her eyelashes fluttered, stardust would fall from the corners of her eyes. At this moment, her eyes were lifeless, and she knelt on the ground, her skirt already soaked with mud.
The girl's silvery-white eyelashes shattered into ice crystals. She subconsciously reached for the Jade pendant around her neck, but instead grabbed a handful of sticky substance—a patch of blood that had not yet congealed, flowing down her collarbone and onto her pure white dress.
Bronya could see that this land had just been ravaged by war, and the price paid was extremely high.
"As expected of the Silvermane Guards Commander who leads troops into battle, the standard for judging a good story is whether its beginning can grab the reader's attention. Miss Bronya... would you like to continue reading?"
"Hmm." Driven by Curiosity, Bronya wanted to know what had happened on this land. Had they also been invaded by the Antimatter Legion?
A crisp snap of fingers rang out, and Remembrance pierced Bronya's mind like shattered diamonds.
Three hours ago, this place was peaceful, with elven maidens wearing crowns woven from vines singing " The Hymn of Eternity " atop the royal court.
"May the stars bear witness to the Eternity of my people." She prayed devoutly, her emerald eyes sparkling in the starlight, as hundreds of her compatriots gathered at the foot of the tower to witness this historic moment.
"This is a once-in-a-millennium festival for the Aria Elf Clan. For elves, a long-lived species, a millennium is but a fleeting moment... And the protagonist of this story is the Saintess of the Elven race." Ye Yan's voice echoed in Bronya's ears, adding to the setting.
" Eternity..." Bronya detected the keyword, "Are they followers of Yite?"
"Yes, but also no."
Ye Yan began to tell Bronya the story of this planet, but before that, he made a disclaimer. "Miss Bronya might be Curiosity how I know so many stories?"
"The answer is revealed; all of this is recorded in the history books of the Church of Eternity. If you don't mind... I can take you to see the Church." Ye Yan found the perfect excuse.
"Sorry, I went off-topic." The narrator cleared his throat and got back to the point.
"A place without divine protection, but ironically... this planet was once the resting place of an [ Eternity ] traveler. Yes, you heard right, just an ordinary Pathstrider."
"His footprints can be found in countless galaxies, including this one, where he introduced the concept of Eternity to a still-unaware population."
"This Pathstrider spent his entire life yearning for a glimpse of the Aeon. Alas... fate is never fair, and not long after... he perished."
As for the cause of his death...
Ye Yan's voice disappeared, and then, unexpectedly, the azure sky suddenly darkened.
It wasn't dark clouds, but the wings of hundreds of millions of locusts that blocked out the sunlight; the buzzing of their wings reached the ground before their bodies could move.
The sharp, high-frequency sound waves were mixed with a sandstorm-like sound, like thousands of rusty razors scraping back and forth on a whetstone.
A crimson wave surged from the horizon, and the compound eyes of each True Sting reflected a dark, cold light.
Their elytra scraped against each other in flight, producing a crisp sound like metal scales colliding. As the Swarm pressed down overhead, fine bits of grass began to fall from the air, as if announcing the end of this planet.
"The offspring of [ the Voracity ] Tayzzyronth, so numerous they could blot out the stars, their tentacles long enough to measure the Milky Way. All realms tremble in fear, calling their self-replicating, chaotic creations... the Swarm."
Ye Yan walked expressionlessly to Bronya's side, looking at her as her lips trembled slightly and her eyes glazed over.
Bronya witnessed the invasion of the insect swarm, which first devoured the wheat fields, growing larger and larger... and finally set its sights on the planet's native elves.
The elven girl, and countless guards, fell before her eyes, swallowed by darkness, leaving no trace of their bodies.
Even with its advanced technology and the remaining energy of the Eternity Walker, this planet still couldn't withstand the swarms of locusts.
The swarm of insects gave them no time to catch their breath. The sacred tree that the Aria Elf Clan were so proud of collapsed with a crash, and a scarlet crack was torn open in the gray sky. A massive, planet-sized, sky-covering Star-Eating Borer was staring at them.
"Friendly reminder: This Queen Beetle is a true [ Propagation ] Emanator, unlike ordinary giant True Sting."
More flashbacks followed, the scene shifted again, the once vast royal city collapsed into ruins... When the thick smoke dissipated, only the Saintess remained.
Looking at Bronya, who was no longer able to speak, Ye Yan sighed helplessly. This was already a censored Remembrance.
He deliberately cut out some bloody scenes and details that would leave an indelible psychological trauma just by looking at them, let alone the child who experienced it firsthand.
After Ye Yan found her, she grew up under his careful guidance.
However... why she's become such a delusional priestess is something she needs to reflect on.
