Poor Ron
Ron snatched up the textbook Argus had placed on the ground.
He sat astride his broomstick, looking smug.
As though taking something from Argus was something to be proud of.
"Mr. Weasley, I suggest you put that down."
"Otherwise, I guarantee you'll regret what you've done!"
Argus's icy voice rang out.
He didn't want to stoop to a child's level, but the other boy kept pushing his luck.
Then he couldn't blame Argus for showing no mercy!
Ron shuddered and shrank back in fear.
But at the thought of so many people watching him, he gritted his teeth and held his ground to save face.
"Who wants your stupid book anyway!"
"Come and get it yourself if you can!"
With that, he immediately flew off on his broom.
"Weasley, stop!"
Draco grabbed his broom and chased after him.
Fueled by his anger, and with a natural talent for flying that already surpassed Ron's, Draco had the advantage.
Despite starting a moment later, he soon caught up with Ron.
"Weasley, you're a disgrace to your family!"
"Shut up, Malfoy! Your dad's a Death Eater, and you'll definitely be one too! You're just as disgusting as that friend of yours!"
"What did you say? Say that again if you dare!"
"A dark wizard's friend is a dark wizard too! Neither of you is any good!"
Draco's face flushed red with fury, and he charged recklessly toward Ron.
The two chased each other, completely forgetting Madam Hooch's earlier instructions.
They flew higher and higher, already well above the castle!
But Draco's talent for flying far exceeded Ron's. Among their year, only Harry could outdo him.
Before long, Draco was right behind Ron.
He reached for his shoulder.
"Weasley, stop right now!"
Ron struggled desperately. Neither could get the upper hand, and both brooms swayed precariously.
The students below cried out in alarm.
"Argus, are they going to be all right?"
As Draco's future sister-in-law, Daphne watched the two boys in the air with concern.
Argus's gaze was cold, his voice filled with confidence.
"With me here, nothing will happen."
In truth, his impression of the Weasley family wasn't bad.
In the original story, the Weasley family members were outstanding in both talent and strength.
Charlie raised dragons, Molly killed Bellatrix single-handedly with three Nonverbal Spells, and Percy defeated the Ministry of Magic's puppet minister...
Almost everyone in the family apart from Ron was a top talent.
Ron's talent wasn't exactly poor either, merely somewhat inferior to that of his siblings.
Otherwise, he couldn't have become a Gryffindor Prefect in the future.
Unfortunately, he was too jealous.
That much was clear from the Triwizard Tournament, when he had given Harry the cold shoulder out of jealousy over Harry being allowed to compete.
Your jealousy of Harry is none of my business. But you dare provoke me? If I don't teach you a lesson, will you really take me for a pushover?
Argus used the wide sleeve of his wizarding robe to quietly conceal the wand he had drawn.
His eyes fixed on Draco and Ron on their broomsticks.
Up in the air.
Ron swerved left and right, trying to shake Draco off.
But Draco seemed glued to him. Rather than widening, the distance between them kept shrinking.
Ron had only just started school and didn't dare disobey Madam Hooch's orders.
Especially after already losing points that morning.
He could only wobble around near the castle, doing his utmost to evade Draco's pursuit.
"Evil Slytherin!"
"Just let me get a chance, or else..."
"Weasley, do you think you can get away?"
While Ron was still muttering away, Draco came up from below the castle.
His shout startled Ron so badly that his hand slipped, and he nearly fell off his broom.
By the time he regained his balance, Draco was right beside him.
The two darted back and forth through the air.
Seeing that he couldn't shake Draco off, Ron simply threw Argus's book into the distance.
He stopped in midair and looked at Draco provocatively.
"Go on, chase me! Keep chasing me if you can!"
"Bastard!"
Draco glanced at the book, its pages fluttering in the wind, then shot Ron a fierce glare before turning to pursue it.
His green Slytherin robes became a streak of light. Even Hogwarts's brooms, outdated for years, couldn't conceal Draco's astonishing talent.
Just as Draco was about to catch it!
A faint crack suddenly came from his broomstick!
As it turned out.
After being used by countless years of students, Hogwarts's brooms were already worn out.
How could they withstand such intense flying!
The broom snapped in the middle!
Draco plummeted straight down!
He fell faster and faster!
On the lawn, countless people panicked.
At that speed, anyone with a brain knew what would happen if he hit the ground directly!
He would either die or be injured!
"Vera Verto!"
At that critical moment, Argus cast his spell in time.
Thud!
At the last moment, the grass on the ground turned into mattresses.
Before Draco landed, they cushioned his fall.
Even so, the impact left Draco dazed.
Argus's eyes were icy as he stared straight at Ron in midair.
As he withdrew his wand, he cast another spell.
"Finite Incantatem!"
His voice was extremely quiet, and Finite Incantatem was itself a counterspell used to remove restraints on one's strength.
There was no sound or light.
It struck Ron's broomstick directly!
Whoosh!
The broom beneath Ron suddenly seemed to malfunction, and he fell straight out of the sky.
Unlike Draco, he had no Argus to cushion his fall.
Thud!
Dust billowed up. Ron lay on the ground, his upper arm and forearm bent at unnatural angles.
He howled in agony!
Argus sneered without so much as glancing at him.
He went over to Draco.
"How do you feel?"
"Don't move. I'll take you to Madam Pomfrey!"
Draco raised his head in a daze. Seeing Argus, he smiled.
He held out the book he had been clutching tightly to his chest.
"Argus, your book!"
"You..."
Argus wanted to lose his temper, but looking at Draco's injury-covered body, he couldn't bring himself to scold him.
He was human too. He needed friends, and he could be moved too.
He gave Draco a complicated look.
"Don't do that again. It's only a book. If it gets thrown away, so be it."
"As long as you're all right."
"Merlin's beard, can someone tell me what happened here!"
Arriving late, Madam Hooch let out a piercing shriek at the scene before her!
She nearly blacked out and fainted.
After learning what had happened from the other students, Madam Hooch flew into a rage.
"Mr. Weasley, did everything I said go in one ear and out the other?"
"Disobeying classroom rules, jealousy, insulting your classmates, stealing a classmate's textbook!"
"Because of your repulsive behavior, fifty points from Gryffindor!"
Groans rose from Gryffindor, and everyone glared at Ron with disgust.
They were merely at odds with Slytherin, not blind to right and wrong.
Ron's actions had crossed their bottom line!
As Hogwarts's Quidditch referee, Madam Hooch was an extremely fair person.
She would not tolerate the slightest wrongdoing.
She stared straight into Ron's eyes and spoke each word distinctly.
"I will tell Professor McGonagall exactly what happened today!"
"And from now on, a badly behaved child like you is not welcome in my lessons!"
With one sentence, she sent Ron's reputation at Hogwarts plummeting to rock bottom.
She also pronounced a death sentence on Ron's Quidditch career.
She turned to Argus, her tone somewhat apologetic.
"I'm terribly sorry, Mr. Grindelwald."
"My negligence caused you to suffer unfair treatment in my class."
"Once Mr. Weasley has recovered, I will personally bring him to apologize to you."
"Madam Hooch, you couldn't possibly foresee every situation. You needn't blame yourself for this." Argus shook his head gently.
"This wasn't your fault."
"Besides, I haven't lost anything."
"A forgiving gentleman!" A faint smile finally appeared on Madam Hooch's face.
"Your bravery in stepping forward to save a classmate has earned Slytherin ten points!"
