On a hidden small island somewhere in the vast sea, pavilions and towers were concealed amid the landscape. Beimou, sullen and dispirited, drank alone within one of the buildings. He imitated Old Ox and actively absorbed the wine fumes instead of letting them disperse the moment they entered his body. Sure enough, it gave him the feeling of drinking again.
Calling it solitude was not entirely accurate. There were at least attendants on the island, handsome men and beautiful women alike, each alluring and radiating a faint demonic aura. They obeyed Beimou's every word. At this moment, an obscene performance was underway in the middle of the hall, solely to amuse him.
Unfortunately, these loyal attendants and subordinates were nothing in Beimou's eyes, and they could not stir his emotions at all. Perhaps watching an ordinary human family fall apart over domestic disputes would better suit a demon's interests.
Just then, a woman draped in a black cloak descended from the sky onto the island. She then hurried into the hall, bypassed the performance in the center, and approached Beimou's table.
"Master, Master Niu and Master Lu are no longer staying at the residence you arranged for them, so I could not invite them to drink with you."
"They're gone? Where did they go?"
Beimou raised a hand. A flush spread across his wickedly handsome face, making the subordinate before him slightly excited.
"The servants over there said Master Niu found it boring as well, and he was angry that Lian Ping'er had toyed with them, so he left. He also said he was a bull, and soaking in the sea all day was no fun. Master Lu did not say much. He merely left this for you, saying that if you had business with them, you could use it."
