Background

Lord Lu was originally the fierce tiger spirit of Niu Kui Mountain. When he intended to kill nine young jianghu heroes, Ji Yuan persuaded him to instead make the Pact of Chivalry: Lord Lu would spare them, observe their future conduct, and personally bring any who committed evil to justice. The agreement gave him both a righteous purpose and the hope of transformation. 17

Ji Yuan later guided Lord Lu and Hu Yun on the Moon Platform, teaching that demon cultivation required more than accumulating power—it required a cultivated heart. Lord Lu received the lesson with unusual clarity and formally became Ji Yuan's disciple. 180

His metamorphosis began in earnest after he received Ji Yuan's “Metamorphosis” calligraphy. During a severe heavenly tribulation, Ji Yuan aided him from afar through their spiritual connection.
