"What a pain, making me come all the way to the New World!"
"And to such a dangerous place, too!"
A ship flying the World Government's flag docked at the port where the Brunei Family's headquarters stood.
A man in a suit and an overcoat walked off the ship, cursing and grumbling.
"Still, troublesome as it is, you should be due for a promotion after this, right, Chief?"
Behind him, several men in black suits spoke to the man in the overcoat with smiles.
"We're here on the Celestial Dragons' orders this time. If we do a good job and please them, you might get promoted to chief of CP9, or even CP0."
"Wahahaha! Exactly! Once this mission is done, I'll be due for a promotion. If I have the old man pull some strings, becoming chief of CP9 or even getting into CP0 won't be hard. But forget CP0. That's not somewhere ordinary people can get into!"
"Chief Spandine, don't forget your old subordinates when you get promoted!"
"Don't worry, I'll take care of you!"
The people disembarking from the ship flying the World Government's flag belonged to Cipher Pol.
Their leader was Spandine, the future chief of CP9 who would take part in launching the Buster Call on Ohara.
At present, however, he was not the chief of CP9, but the chief of CP5.
"But Chief, I heard the Brunei Family isn't easy to deal with!"
"They're just a merchant family that makes wine. What's so hard about dealing with them?" Spandine said disdainfully.
"Don't you know, Chief? The Brunei Family originally sold flour and desserts. They're said to have ties to the Big Mom Pirates. They're even one of their suppliers!"
"The Big Mom Pirates?" Spandine cried out. "Why didn't you say so sooner?"
"You didn't ask, Chief. I thought you knew!"
"Bastard! Couldn't you remind me without being asked? How would I know anything about some merchant family in the New World?" Spandine said, kicking the subordinate beside him.
"No, I have to go back. If the Big Mom Pirates are involved, even several lives wouldn't be enough!" With that, Spandine turned around, ready to return to the ship and leave.
"But Chief, these are the Celestial Dragons' orders. Refusing to carry them out will cost you your head, too!"
"Oh, heavens! Can't you just stop reminding me of these things?" Spandine stopped and clutched his head, clawing at his hair as he shouted.
"What do we do next, Chief?"
"Damn it! No wonder those bastards all looked so uninterested when the mission came down. This was a chance to curry favor with the Celestial Dragons. How could they not be interested? So that was why!"
"We'll risk it! These are the Celestial Dragons' orders. Even the Big Mom Pirates wouldn't oppose the Celestial Dragons over a supplier. We have the World Government and Marine Headquarters behind us!" Spandine said after some thought.
Since these were the Celestial Dragons' orders, Spandine had no way to refuse and could only steel himself and carry them out.
Even though he knew Big Mom would not oppose the Celestial Dragons over a supplier.
But he was only a small pawn.
Naturally, Big Mom would not oppose the Celestial Dragons, but getting rid of a small pawn like him would be effortless.
"After this, I must never come to the New World again!" Spandine silently resolved.
"I want a thousand bottles of Brunei Blazing Blood! Bring them out quickly! I'll pay right away and take them away myself!"
"I want three thousand bottles of Blazing Blood!"
"What's three thousand bottles? I want ten thousand bottles, plus three thousand bottles of Tipsy!"
"Noble Blood! Noble Blood! Our Frank Family wants to buy a thousand bottles of Noble Blood!"
"I'm willing to pay fifty percent extra! Hurry up and bring me the wine!"
"..."
When Spandine arrived at the Brunei Family with his men, he saw a crowd outside its headquarters, waving Beli in their hands as they tried to buy Brunei Fine Wine.
"Is this Brunei Fine Wine really that good? So many people want it?" Spandine said in surprise at the sight.
"You have no idea, Chief. This wine has been selling like crazy in the New World."
"Sales are so wild that the Brunei Family's production can't keep up. These people wait here every day. As soon as any wine is produced, it gets bought up."
"If there weren't guards at the factory, and it hadn't already been moved several miles away, they'd probably charge straight into the winery!"
"Brunei Fine Wine is already selling for several times its price on the black market. Just getting hold of some and reselling it brings several times the profit. Wouldn't you say these people are going crazy?"
"But Brunei Fine Wine really is good wine. It tastes even better than the finest wines in the world today!"
Spandine's subordinates spoke.
"Is that so? What a pity. From now on, they'll never be able to buy Brunei Fine Wine again, because it will only be supplied to the Celestial Dragons. Men, drive them all away!"
Spandine gave the order.
Although Spandine feared the Big Mom Pirates, he did not fear this so-called Brunei Family.
He thought nothing of a merchant family.
"Move aside! Move aside!"
"World Government business! Everyone leave!"
"What? World Government personnel? Why would they come here?"
"By order of the Celestial Dragons, Brunei Fine Wine will be supplied exclusively to the Celestial Dragons starting today. There will be no more wine sold here, so leave!"
"How could this happen?!"
"These are the Celestial Dragons' orders. Do you intend to resist?"
"The Celestial Dragons!!!!"
At the mention of the Celestial Dragons, everyone present looked panicked.
"If you don't leave now, you'll be arrested for defying the Celestial Dragons. You know how serious a crime that is!"
Spandine walked over and spoke with a smug expression.
Hearing Spandine's words, everyone present fled the Brunei Family's headquarters in panic.
The Brunei Family's headquarters, bustling just a moment earlier, was empty the next instant.
