Ch. 461Confession

Shinsei ate ramen with Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Ino, then walked with Ino through Konoha’s newly lit streets. Ino confessed that she liked him and kissed his cheek, leaving Shinsei alone with his complicated feelings as he walked home.

  • Shinsei met Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Ino at Ichiraku Ramen, where they discussed the moon’s disappearance and the village’s new chakra-powered streetlights.
  • Ino gave Shinsei half her chashu and remarked that he had not been eating properly.
  • Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto deliberately fell behind, leaving Shinsei to walk alone with Ino.
  • Ino asked whether Shinsei would have been as anxious to protect her as he had been to protect Hinata, and Shinsei said he would have been.
  • Ino told Shinsei she liked him, kissed his cheek, and ran off before he could answer.
  • Shinsei touched the place she had kissed and walked home, unsure what to make of her confession.

Ch. 462Immortality

Shinsei proposed delegating the Land of Fire's civil administration to a five-person team so he could focus on core matters. At Konoha Hospital, he learned Hinata's Byakugan was slowly fusing with eyes recovered from the moon and asked Tsunade if she wanted immortality.

  • Shinsei asked Shikaku to help establish a five-person team to handle the Land of Fire's civil affairs, and Shikaku recommended finding a suitable official through Fujiwara Munetsugu.
  • Shinsei decided Naruto was too young to take part in the government's highest affairs and said he should gain more experience on the front lines first.
  • Shinsei visited the hospital basement and learned from Orochimaru that Hinata's Byakugan was slowly absorbing some of the Byakugan recovered from the moon.
  • Tsunade explained that the process was a rejection response and that they would let Hinata absorb the eyes naturally before considering medical help.
  • Shinsei told Tsunade that their clans shared ancestry with Otsutsuki Kaguya and asked if she wanted immortality.

Ch. 463A discussion of longevity

Shinsei proposed researching Kaguya’s immortality through gene expression, and Tsunade agreed to help under strict supervision. Afterward, he walked Hinata home through the moonless village and reflected on wanting his loved ones to live longer.

  • Shinsei and Orochimaru theorized that Kaguya’s immortality came from her genes rather than chakra, and discussed combining bloodline traits to isolate lifespan-related expressions.
  • Shinsei told Tsunade he wanted to extend the lives of the people he cared about, and she agreed to join the research while overseeing Orochimaru’s experiments.
  • Shinsei took Hinata home, and she recalled practicing Gentle Fist alone as a child beneath the moon.
  • Shinsei and Hinata encountered Kiba and Akamaru, then continued to the Hyūga Clan compound, where they parted for the night.
  • Walking alone beneath the dark Hokage Rock, Shinsei imagined that immortality would be worthwhile if Ino, Hinata, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura remained by his side.

Ch. 464A disturbance in the Dragon Vein

Obito Uchiha and Madara attacked the guarded Rōran Ruins and began restoring the Dragon Vein Platform. Madara chose to travel to an era when Hashirama Senju was alive but Shinsei Senju was absent.

  • Obito approached the Rōran Ruins, and the twelve Land of Wind guards confronted him.
  • Obito used Kamui and chakra chains to kill the guards, leaving only one alive long enough to identify him.
  • Madara arrived and examined the faint purple light remaining in the Dragon Vein altar.
  • Obito unsealed the Dragon Vein energy, causing the ruins to glow and the ground to shake.
  • The Snake Sage warned Madara that Shinsei was growing stronger, and Madara said he wanted an era with Hashirama but without Shinsei.
  • The Dragon Vein Platform began to take shape as purple-white light filled the ruins.

Ch. 465The sage's invitation

Shinsei left his Hokage paperwork to check on Hinata, whose Byakugan fragments were triggering the first stage of her Tenseigan’s evolution. After Orochimaru explained the gaps in their Ōtsutsuki genetic inheritance, Katsuyu summoned Shinsei, Hinata, and Tsunade to meet the Katsuyu Sage.

  • Shinsei avoided routine paperwork and went to the laboratory beneath Konoha Hospital.
  • Tsunade explained that Hinata was in a self-protective hibernation while her body integrated the Byakugan fragments, and that her eyes would advance when she woke.
  • Orochimaru described how Senju, Hyūga, and Uchiha bloodlines held incomplete fragments of Kaguya’s genetic code and said they needed a closer Ōtsutsuki reference.
  • Katsuyu delivered the Katsuyu Sage’s invitation for Shinsei and Hinata, with Tsunade also welcome to join.
  • Shinsei carried Hinata as he and Tsunade followed Katsuyu’s messenger to Shikkotsu Forest.

Ch. 466Upheaval in the Shinobi World

Shinsei, Tsunade, and Hinata visited the Katsuyu Sage, who warned that the Shinobi World would end in three years if Shinsei stayed in Konoha. She revealed that the Snake Sage was acting at Rōran’s Dragon Vein, and Shinsei chose to go there.

  • Shinsei and Tsunade met the Katsuyu Sage in Shikkotsu Forest, with Hinata accompanying them.
  • The Katsuyu Sage explained that she sensed calamities through premonitions and had foreseen the world’s end if Shinsei remained in Konoha.
  • She told Shinsei that going to Rōran was the other path and that the Snake Sage had hidden the place from her perception.
  • The Katsuyu Sage warned that the Snake Sage and Madara were driving a threat into the Dragon Vein, which connected to rifts in time and space.
  • Shinsei decided to go to Rōran, and the Katsuyu Sage entrusted the matter to him.

Ch. 467Was a Ten-Tails About to Be Born?

Madara Uchiha used the Dragon Vein at the Rōran Ruins to fuse chakra from the One-Tail through the Nine-Tails into a new Tailed Beast, intending to become its Jinchūriki and travel between parallel worlds. Shinsei arrived as the fusion began, and Madara entered the vortex, challenging him to follow.

  • The White Snake Sage told Madara Uchiha that the spacetime fissure would soon stabilize and reminded him that she was helping him to protect Ryūchi Cave from Shinsei.
  • Madara Uchiha released chakra from the One-Tail through the Nine-Tails and used the Dragon Vein to bind and fuse the nine masses.
  • Madara Uchiha explained that he planned to create a new Tailed Beast, become its Jinchūriki, and use it to travel between parallel worlds.
  • Shinsei arrived alone at the Rōran Ruins with Little Nine and saw the chakra fusion underway.
  • Madara Uchiha walked into the half-fused vortex and challenged Shinsei to follow him, while Shinsei dove toward the ruins.

Ch. 468A new Otsutsuki Kaguya

Shinsei followed Madara through the Dragon Vein into a distant age, where he encountered a gentle, bewildered Otsutsuki Kaguya being attacked by a crowd. After defending her, he followed her into the forest, where she asked whether he had come to kill her.

  • Madara activated the New Ten-Tails to travel to the past, but Shinsei and Xiaobai altered his destination and followed him through the Dragon Vein.
  • Shinsei and Madara arrived in a distant, primal forest; Madara named his unstable tailed beast Hashirama, then left Shinsei to explore alone.
  • Shinsei followed a path to a small city and found a crowd throwing stones at Otsutsuki Kaguya.
  • Shinsei protected Kaguya from the crowd, and she invited him to follow her out of the city.
  • In the forest, Kaguya asked Shinsei whether he had come to kill her.

Ch. 469No Way Back

Shinsei spared Kaguya and used chakra to stop the emperor’s guards from seizing him, then accepted the emperor’s offer of shelter for the night. At the palace, Kaguya questioned the source of Shinsei’s chakra and concluded that he was not from her world.

  • Shinsei told Kaguya he had not come to kill her, and she moved closer to him as the emperor and his guards arrived.
  • The emperor invited Kaguya to his palace, then ordered his guards to seize Shinsei when he saw her relying on him.
  • Shinsei used water and fire chakra to frighten off the guards, prompting the emperor to apologize and offer them shelter.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya went to the palace, where he said he needed to find someone and work out how to return.
  • Kaguya said chakra belonged to the Ōtsutsuki Clan, noticed the white chakra inside Shinsei, and told him he was not from this world.

Ch. 470Assassination

Shinsei learned from Kaguya that the God Tree’s presence had trapped him in this world, and he decided to find it or someone like Madara to get home. After the emperor tried to claim Kaguya and then sent assassins to kill Shinsei, the chapter ended with Shinsei calmly inviting the guards to strike again.

  • Kaguya told Shinsei that outsiders could enter the world containing the God Tree but could not leave, and Shinsei resolved to search for a way home.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya attended a banquet where the emperor tried to persuade Kaguya to move into his inner quarters and become his empress.
  • Shinsei rejected the emperor’s advances on Kaguya’s behalf, and Kaguya recognized that the emperor wanted to imprison her.
  • After the pair returned to their rooms, someone slipped poison smoke beneath Shinsei’s door, but he was unaffected.
  • Seven or eight guards rushed into Shinsei’s room and repeatedly hacked at his bed, and Shinsei told them to keep slashing.

Ch. 471The origin of the chonmage hairstyle

Shinsei left the Land of Ancestors with Kaguya after using lightning to punish the emperor and frighten the guards. The emperor turned Shinsei’s mockery into a court hairstyle called the chonmage, while Shinsei and Kaguya continued toward the God Tree.

  • Shinsei used lightning to kill one attacker and cow the remaining guards, but Kaguya asked him to spare them.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya left for the God Tree, stopping first at the emperor’s bedchamber.
  • Shinsei shaved a bare strip down the emperor’s head with lightning and told him to wear a hat.
  • The humiliated emperor ordered everyone at court to copy his hairstyle, which became known as the chonmage.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya traveled through the forest toward the God Tree.

Ch. 472The sages of Takamagahara

Shinsei and Kaguya traveled through the forest to the God Tree, where they encountered two ancient beings who intended to take them to Takamagahara for questioning. Shinsei recognized Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto as gods from the world's ancient records.

  • Kaguya told Shinsei she trusted him because she sensed no killing intent or malice in him.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya flew together, and Kaguya explained that the God Tree drained the chakra and vitality of anyone lacking an Ōtsutsuki aura.
  • They reached the wasteland surrounding the God Tree and approached it until they noticed two figures standing beneath it.
  • Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto identified Kaguya as someone from the heavens and said they would take both travelers to Takamagahara for interrogation.
  • Shinsei recognized the pair as ancient gods recorded in Konoha's library, the Hyuga Clan's records, and Orochimaru's texts.

Ch. 473Heading to Takamagahara

Shinsei confronted the Takamagahara gods, who wanted to use Otsutsuki Kaguya to stop the God Tree, and fought them when they tried to take her. He had knocked both gods down, but they rose and prepared to continue the battle.

  • Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto told Shinsei they had come from Takamagahara to destroy the God Tree, which was draining the earth and their realm.
  • Shinsei said destroying the tree could draw the Ōtsutsuki Clan, and Sarutahiko revealed that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki had once appeared and proved too powerful for them to kill.
  • Ame no Uzume no Mikoto and Sarutahiko proposed using Otsutsuki Kaguya's blood to control the God Tree, but Shinsei refused to let them take her.
  • Ame no Uzume no Mikoto attacked Shinsei with her sword while Sarutahiko struck the ground with natural energy, but Shinsei caught and disarmed her blade, then knocked Sarutahiko face-first into the dirt.
  • The two gods got back up and chose to keep fighting for the dignity of the gods, with Ame no Uzume no Mikoto raising her sword and gathering natural energy around herself.

Ch. 474Monsters or Sages?

Shinsei and Kaguya traveled with Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto to Takamagahara, where they discovered that powerful monsters threatened its sages. Sarutahiko explained that the creatures could use senjutsu, leaving the group facing a danger that had already injured one of Takamagahara’s people.

  • Shinsei overwhelmed Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto with his senjutsu aura, and they abandoned their fight.
  • Sarutahiko asked Shinsei to visit Takamagahara to help find a solution to the God Tree draining their world, and Kaguya agreed to go in hopes of finding clues to return home.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya followed Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto north to Takamagahara, a floating land of white roads, lanterns, and robed sages.
  • Kaguya sampled cloud dew at a market while the group traveled through Takamagahara.
  • A wounded sage named Izumo collapsed in the market, missing his right hand, and warned the gathered sages about monsters.
  • Sarutahiko explained to Shinsei that some monsters born from the spiritual essence of heaven and earth could use senjutsu and attack people.

Ch. 475Pilgrimage

Shinsei and Kaguya learned about Takamagahara’s war against the yōkai and traveled to its sacred center, where Ninigi-no-Mikoto invited Shinsei to stay. As they were led to rest, Kaguya warned Shinsei that the gods harbored ill will toward him.

  • Sarutahiko explained that Takamagahara had nearly defeated the yōkai, and Kaguya sensed that the yōkai were frightened.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya followed pilgrims toward Takamagahara’s center and heard their reverence for Amaterasu.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya passed through Ame-no-Iwato and reached Amaterasu Palace.
  • Ninigi-no-Mikoto introduced himself as Amaterasu’s grandson and invited Shinsei to stay in Takamagahara.
  • After Ninigi-no-Mikoto left, Kaguya warned Shinsei that the gods harbored ill will toward him.

Ch. 476Testing the Waters

Amaterasu ordered Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto to probe Shinsei about his unusual Senjutsu while warning Ninigi-no-Mikoto not to provoke him yet. At the banquet, Kaguya sensed that their hosts wanted her life, and Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto left without getting Shinsei to reveal his cultivation method.

  • Ninigi-no-Mikoto asked Amaterasu to let him absorb Shinsei, but she said he was not ready and warned him that Shinsei was as dangerous as Ōtsutsuki Isshiki had been.
  • Amaterasu ordered Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto to entertain Shinsei and learn about his Senjutsu and its connection to natural energy.
  • Sarutahiko questioned Shinsei about his cultivation method at the banquet, but Shinsei recognized that he was fishing for information.
  • Kaguya told Shinsei that Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto wanted her life, and Shinsei comforted her while remaining calm.
  • Sarutahiko and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto ended the tense banquet and left without learning Shinsei's secret.

Ch. 477Aptitude for Senjutsu

Shinsei and Kaguya discovered that Takamagahara’s sages were draining young people’s senjutsu aptitude to empower themselves, and Shinsei interrupted the ritual and rescued the victims. He confronted Ninigi-no-Mikoto, who defended the rite as a blessing from Amaterasu.

  • Shinsei and Kaguya followed chanting through the palace, disguised themselves as servants, and joined a procession to an underground altar.
  • Shinsei overheard Ninigi-no-Mikoto and an elderly sage discuss extracting the young people’s senjutsu aptitude and their plan to capture Shinsei.
  • The altar drained the boys’ and girls’ senjutsu aura as Ninigi-no-Mikoto approached to absorb the ritual’s power.
  • Shinsei disrupted the altar, defeated the sages who attacked him, and entered Sage Mode; Kaguya helped drive off the others.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya knocked out the remaining victims and faced Ninigi-no-Mikoto, who claimed the ritual was a divine blessing.

Ch. 478Do not interfere with others' fate

Shinsei rescued the people from Ninigi-no-Mikoto’s sacrificial rite, but two devotees chose to return to the altar. Ninigi-no-Mikoto killed them, leaving their fate—and the brutality of the rite—unresolved.

  • Ninigi-no-Mikoto called for Amaterasu to intervene against Shinsei, but she did not answer.
  • Shinsei and Kaguya carried the unconscious people out of the altar and brought them to a side hall.
  • After waking, a girl and a boy condemned Shinsei for interrupting the rite and insisted they wanted to return.
  • Shinsei let the pair leave, saying their lives were their own and he would not stop them.
  • The girl and boy returned to Ninigi-no-Mikoto and offered themselves for the rite, but he killed them with his sword.
  • An old immortal lamented that the pair could no longer be sacrificed for their aptitude, and Ninigi-no-Mikoto dismissed them as unworthy.

Ch. 479The God of Prophecy

Ninigi-no-Mikoto questioned Amaterasu about her failure to stop Shinsei, and she revealed that gods and immortals had once been human. Kukurihime-no-Kami showed him a vision of Otsutsuki Kaguya destroying Takamagahara and explained that this was their unavoidable fate.

  • Ninigi-no-Mikoto asked Amaterasu why she had not intervened when Shinsei caused havoc at the altar.
  • Amaterasu explained that gods and immortals had gained their powers by absorbing natural energy and that they had built Takamagahara rather than creating it.
  • Amaterasu sent Kukurihime-no-Kami to explain the matter, and Kukurihime showed Ninigi-no-Mikoto a vision of Otsutsuki Kaguya annihilating Takamagahara.
  • Kukurihime-no-Kami told Ninigi-no-Mikoto that Kaguya had destroyed Takamagahara in their original fate and that Amaterasu could not have changed the outcome.

Ch. 480The Sharingan's Mutation

Ninigi-no-Mikoto learned that Kukurihime could no longer foresee Takamagahara’s fate because Shinsei and another hidden force had disrupted the river of fate, and he vowed not to accept the gods’ destruction. Meanwhile, Shinsei’s Mangekyō began awakening with a hunger for the gods.

  • Ninigi-no-Mikoto asked whether Kukurihime could change or recheck her prophecy, but she explained that her visions had failed.
  • Kukurihime described Shinsei and a second, still-hidden giant whale disrupting the river of fate, leaving the future obscured.
