Hearing Kōki's explanation, Orochimaru nodded in relief.
This is indeed like Teacher Sarutobi's personality; he always likes to reminisce about the past. But unfortunately, everyone grows up, and no one remains unchanged.
"Alright, since that's the case, here's the second-generation Yin Release record for you. I hope you can achieve your goal through the study of Yin Release."
After understanding the reasons why Kōki wanted this record, Orochimaru kept his word, summoned a small snake, and then handed the wet scroll that the snake spat out to Kōki.
Kōki didn't seem to mind. After receiving the scroll, he thanked Orochimaru, saying, "Thank you Lord Orochimaru Lord Orochimaru. I'll take my leave now and not disturb your work any longer."
Having obtained what he wanted, Kōki had no reason to stay any longer; now he just wanted to go back and confirm things properly.
Orochimaru noticed Kōki's eagerness, so he didn't try to stop him. He nodded and let Kōki leave.
Watching Kōki's hurried departure, Orochimaru once again stuck out his tongue and licked his lips; he was becoming increasingly interested in Kōki.
In fact, he only believed less than half of what Kōki had just said. Don't underestimate his intuition as a scientific researcher; the research records of the second generation of Yin Release are not something that just anyone can understand.
Kōki's statement that he wanted to use the Yin Release records to achieve a broader understanding made Orochimaru realize that Kōki's goal was definitely not just to increase the power of Wood Release.
There must be other uses behind the scenes, but he didn't bother to investigate further.
He noticed a resemblance between Kōki and himself in the excited and joyful look in Kōki's eyes when he received the record.
That thirst for technique was exactly the same as his own. And the more he looked at Kōki, the more he felt he had met him somewhere before; that damned sense of familiarity tormented his curiosity.
"Where have I seen him before?" Orochimaru wondered to himself.
While Orochimaru was still racking his brains trying to figure out where he had seen Kōki before, Kōki had already returned to her resting place with a joyful and excited heart.
The success of his attempt to claim the reward was beyond his wildest expectations. He had prepared numerous reasons to explain his purpose, but he only needed to use the most ordinary excuse to get Orochimaru to give him the item.
He even prepared numerous excuses for Orochimaru, but they were mostly useless, wasting a lot of his brain cells.
Back in the lounge, Kōki, sitting in a chair, looked at the Yin Release records in his hand, and the calm expression he had maintained all the way was finally broken.
"Haha, I finally got it."
Kōki burst out laughing, excitedly opened the second-generation research records and began to examine them.
The beginning part is exactly the same as what he had previously obtained from Hiruzen Sarutobi, while the middle and later parts are Kōki had been seeking but had not yet obtained.
After confirming that the records were correct, Kōki calmed down and began to rethink his plans.
"It seems the Sharingan is truly indispensable for the Uchiha Clan. Simply using Uchiha Clan isn't enough; they need eyes too."
Kōki muttered to himself, having read through the Second Yin Release twice.
Kōki discovered that most of the content in the latter half of the complete second-generation research record was about his views and research on the Sharingan, with only a small portion being normal Yin Release records.
Of course, even this small part of the content can play a crucial role in the development of Kōki's Special Shadow Clone.
Kōki was just a little disappointed, because the records explained that the Yin Release Sharingan.
His original plan was to bypass the Sharingan and master Yin Release, since obtaining the Sharingan is extremely difficult.
The problem was that after reading the complete research records of the Second Generation Yin Release, Kōki realized that the Sharingan was an unavoidable issue on the path to mastering Yin Release, or rather, only by studying the Sharingan could one be considered to have fully traversed the path of Yin Release Chakra.
Why is this happening?
The Second Hokage's records explain the reason. It turns out that the Second Hokage had also considered bypassing the Sharingan to master Yin Release. However, no matter how deeply he studied Yin Release Chakra, he found that Yin Release Chakra was always incomplete.
There was always something missing, and it was the most crucial piece of Yin Release Chakra. However, the answer to this missing piece could be found in the Sharingan.
This is as if someone deliberately divided the complete Yin Release into two parts: one is the Sharingan, and the other is everything outside the Sharingan. This cut off any possibility for future generations to bypass the Sharingan and fully master Yin Release Chakra.
By this point, Kōki had already guessed who could split Yin Release. It was none other than the Shinobi World Sage of Six Paths — Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Only he in the entire Shinobi World possesses the ability and mindset to divide Yin Release.
Kōki guessed that this was probably the Sage of Six Paths ' concern for his eldest son's descendants; he was probably worried that someone might surpass his eldest son's descendants in Yin Release techniques.
Initially, this information filled Kōki with despair. He realized that if this were true, his Aizen clones would always be weaker than the Sharingan and would be unable to master all the secrets of Yin Release.
Thankfully, the Second Hokage explained at the end that although the Sharingan is the core of Yin Release and holds a very important position, it does not account for a large portion of the total Yin Release. He also stated that as long as someone can master the secrets of Yin Release other than the Sharingan, they can still resist the core Yin Release with non-core Yin Release.
Winning by sheer volume.
However, this path is extremely difficult, so difficult that even a genius like the Second Hokage didn't believe anyone could achieve it. That's why he abandoned his Yin Release research and devoted himself entirely to studying the Sharingan.
Of course, although he abandoned the research on Yin Release, he still recorded most of the secrets that were not Sharingan, leaving a glimmer of hope for future generations.
After all, in his view, the Uchiha Clan with Sharingan were all evil. After leaving behind his notes, perhaps someone could master the non-core Yin Release techniques through them and use them to fight against the Uchiha Clan.
He's happy as long as he can cause trouble for the Uchiha Clan.
Of course, this made Kōki very happy, because this record allowed Kōki to take another step forward on the path of Yin Release. Judging from the Yin Release secrets he has now mastered, he is only a little bit away from the non-core Yin Release described by Tobirama Senju.
If he carefully searches for some obscure Yin Release techniques, he will have completely collected all the non-core Yin Release secrets. Then, if he works hard to decipher the secrets of the Sharingan, he will be able to fully master Yin Release.
"So this time I really need Aizen others to cooperate with me in causing trouble for the Uchiha Clan. And we need to choose a good target; only a good target can yield a good result."
With that in mind, Kōki began searching for the more famous Uchiha Clan geniuses in the village.
