Personality
Wang Sheng takes his responsibility as Dorm Seven’s leader seriously. Before the newcomers arrive, the work-study students depend on him for protection. Although he requires new residents to fight under the dormitory’s leadership rules, he readily offers to look after Lin Yan after hearing about his supposedly poor cultivation prospects 4 9.
He is generous and attentive toward his roommates: he treats the newcomers to a welcome meal, searches for Lin Yan before the opening ceremony, and later helps him move his belongings. However, he accepts Lin Yan’s display of weakness at face value, mistaking his library visits for an alternative to a hopeless cultivation career 5 8 13.
His determination can become recklessness in combat. Against Liu Long, he repeatedly charges through staff attacks despite mounting injuries. Tang San identifies his insistence on fighting head-on as the reason he cannot close the distance 9 10.

History
Dorm Seven’s Leadership
As Dorm Seven’s original boss, Wang Sheng challenges Lin Yan according to the rule that a newcomer can claim leadership by defeating the incumbent. Lin Yan deliberately conceals his strength and loses. Believing the victory genuine, Wang Sheng comforts him over his half-rank Innate Soul Power and assigns him the bed beside his own 4.
Tang San subsequently defeats Wang Sheng using the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect techniques, becoming the new boss. Xiao Wu then takes the position after another leadership contest. Wang Sheng accepts her authority and welcomes all three newcomers with a cafeteria meal 4 5.
Showdown in the Grove
Wang Sheng brings Lin Yan to support the work-study students against Xiao Chenyu’s senior students. Recognizing that the proposed consecutive duels could exhaust their strongest fighters, he volunteers to face Liu Long first and wear him down for Xiao Wu. Liu Long is his classmate, and Wang Sheng admits that he has never won their previous fights 9.
Liu Long repeatedly drives him back with his staff, leaving Wang Sheng bruised and bloodied. During Wang Sheng’s final charge, Tang San secretly strikes Liu Long’s wrist with a pebble. Wang Sheng immediately exploits the opening and knocks Liu Long unconscious, securing the work-study students’ first victory 9 10.
Lin Yan’s Move
During Lin Yan’s first academic year, Wang Sheng is the dormitory resident with whom he speaks most often. When Lin Yan obtains a private room and leaves Dorm Seven, Wang Sheng alone helps carry his luggage 13.
