After bringing the Guantou back to his dorm, Morris placed it on the armchair and fell into deep thought.
To be honest, he still couldn't figure out the attacker's motive.
Why petrify and hang the two cats, and leave that inexplicable message on the wall?
Is it to spread a terrifying atmosphere on campus?
That's not right either. If that were the case, wouldn't the two students from the petrochemical engineering department be more cost-effective?
Morris rubbed his temples; he had a headache.
In short, the most urgent task right now is to cure the Guantou that's been fed up with the canned food. As the cat involved, the Guantou must know something.
In the following days, the attack became the hottest topic of discussion throughout the school, with almost every student talking about it.
When Morris entered the Ravenclaw Common Room, people would often come to comfort him.
Kyle also gave him a box of candy.
This moved him deeply.
Unfortunately, what he was given were Bertie Bott 'Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, and his luck has always been terrible.
In addition, Filch walked back and forth to the place where Mrs. Norris was attacked almost every day, more than a dozen times a day, and became more paranoid and irritable than before.
He would often stare at every student passing by in the corridor with a venomous look, and try to find ways to lock them up.
Morris was the only exception.
Perhaps because they shared a similar plight, Filch never spoke ill of him or caused him any trouble; he would even occasionally force an awkward smile at him.
It's kind of creepy.
More than a week has quietly passed, and it's now mid-November.
On Thursday at noon, after having lunch, Morris was about to return to the tower when he caught a glimpse of three familiar figures loitering below the spiral staircase.
It's Harry, Ron, and Hermione —the classic trio.
Morris didn't stop and walked straight over.
His appearance immediately attracted the attention of the three people.
" Morris!" Harry looked around to make sure no one was watching before whispering, "We have some very important information about the Chamber of Secrets and the Heir."
Morris nodded. "Let's talk about this somewhere else."
It took them a few minutes to reach a rather secluded corridor.
In the shadow cast by a protruding stone pillar, Morris stopped and turned around. "So, what useful information did you find?"
"We asked Professor Binns in our History of Magic class," Hermione said quickly. "It's a Hogwarts legend. After Slytherin and the other three Founders fell out, he left behind a secret room in the castle. It's said that some kind of monster is imprisoned inside, and only his true heir can open it to purge those he deems unworthy of learning magic. The ' Chamber of Secrets' written on the wall must refer to this."
"Did Professor Binns mention what the monster was specifically?" Morris asked.
All three shook their heads simultaneously.
" Professor Binns says it's just a legend, used to scare people," Ron added, "But we believe it's true."
Morris nodded thoughtfully.
He also tends to believe it.
The petrified Guantou and Mrs. Norris's are most likely the monsters in the Chamber of Secrets.
"Furthermore," Hermione leaned closer, "We believe Draco Malfoy might be the Heir of Slytherin."
Morris paused for a moment, "... Are you serious?"
Ron said with absolute certainty, "It's definitely him! He's always talking about Mudblood, and his whole family are Slytherin fanatics. He might even have Slytherin blood."
Seeing Morris's skeptical expression, Hermione explained, "Of course, this is just speculation... We plan to test Malfoy ourselves. We just need to use the Polyjuice Potion to pretend to be someone he knows."
Morris raised an eyebrow. " Polyjuice Potion? Need my help? That's easy for me."
Harry was about to say "thank you" when Hermione answered before he could.
"There's no need for you to trouble yourself, Morris," Hermione said, her back ramrod straight and her chin slightly raised. "I'm also very good at brewing Potions; Snape has never found fault with my technique."
Harry detected a hint of stubbornness in her tone.
"Alright," Morris nodded. "Come find me immediately if you have any problems or need help."
After returning to his dormitory, Morris pondered the matter of the Chamber of Secrets.
It seems this should be the main storyline of Harry Potter this year.
Unfortunately, he knows nothing about the location of the Chamber of Secrets, the monster's true form, or the identity of the heir.
Right now, the most important thing is still treating the Guantou.
Morris's gaze fell on the floor to the side, where a slightly larger crucible was placed.
The edge of this crucible shimmered with a faint, milky-white light, giving it a truly extraordinary appearance.
This was the magical tool he had prepared to treat the Guantou —a Purification Cauldron.
After more than a week of working day and night, Morris finally completed the prop this morning.
Seventeen "purification" runes were engraved on the outer wall of the crucible, radiating intense magical energy.
Success or failure hinges on this.
" Aguamenti!"
Morris gently waved his wand, pouring water into the cauldron.
The milky white light seemed to resonate with the clear water, rippling slightly.
Immediately afterwards, Morris picked up the stiff Guantou beside him, threw it in, added firewood, and started simmering the soup.
Oh no, I mean, the treatment has begun.
Without a doubt, this is the correct way to use Purification Cauldron.
As the flames beneath the crucible continued to burn, the water inside began to heat up and boil, bubbling and gurgling.
When it was fully boiled, Morris threw in a handful of Gap Energy Crystal.
A sharp, explosive sound rang out, and the water inside the crucible suddenly began to churn violently.
Then, a flash of white light appeared.
"Bang!"
It exploded.
The Guantou flew out at tremendous speed, slammed heavily against the dormitory door, slid to the ground, rolled twice, and lay face down, motionless.
Morris walked over quickly.
The Guantou kicked off with its hind legs, wobbled to its feet, shook its head from side to side, and looked completely bewildered.
Meow? (Who am I?)
Meow? (Where am I?)
Seeing this, Morris excitedly picked up the Guantou, "Welcome back."
The Guantou blinked, gradually regaining its senses.
Morris quickly asked his cat what had happened before it was petrified.
The Guantou cried out in a hurry, while simultaneously pulling its limbs together and wriggling on the ground like a maggot.
"A snake? And a very big one?" Morris asked, as if on cue.
The Guantou immediately nodded.
On the night of the Halloween party, it was wandering around outside with Mrs. Norris when it suddenly saw a giant snake and then lost consciousness.
Morris thoughtfully touched the Guantou's head.
A giant snake – this must be the monster in the secret Chamber of Secrets.
