Trial

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

Outside the west gate, dozens of applicants had already gathered. Among them were men and women, each with a different aura, but even the weakest among them was at the level of Lowgod. Linley stood inconspicuously in the crowd.

Before long, a tall man dressed in black armor walked over, his eyes like an eagle's, sweeping over the crowd.

"There's only one rule for the trial," the black-armored man said coldly, "Return alive. Those who survive enter the castle; those who die, well, that's just bad luck."

With that, he waved his hand. Outside the city gate, a pitch-black vortex appeared out of thin air.

"Go in. In the trial grounds, there are ferocious beasts raised by demons, and also... you two."

The crowd's expressions changed slightly. The meaning was crystal clear—the trial involved not only facing ferocious beasts but also being wary of their own companions.

Linley remained expressionless as he followed the flow of people into the vortex.

His vision blurred, and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a Blood-colored Wasteland. A blood-red sun hung high in the sky; on the ground, bones lay scattered everywhere, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of blood.

"Boss, there's a lot of danger here," Bebe whispered.

"Hmm." Linley nodded, drawing his Purple Blood Soft Sword. "Stay close to me."

Before he finished speaking, the ground suddenly split open, and a giant, crimson python burst out of the earth, its gaping maw lunging straight at Linley.

Linley advanced instead of retreating, his figure flashing as he unleashed his Blade of Dimension.

The giant python's head fell off with a thud.

Blood-colored Wasteland, teeming with murderous intent.

Linley, with Bebe in tow, cautiously made his way across the wasteland. In the three days of trials, he had already slain several ferocious beasts and evaded two groups of applicants who attempted to ambush him. But the further they went, the stronger the beasts became.

On the fourth day, he finally encountered his first real opponent.

It was a burly, bare-chested man, wielding a giant axe in each hand, his body wreathed in flames. He was a lower-level Fire Element Lowgod, and a peak among Lowgod that.

" Wind Element brat." The burly man grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth. "Hand over the token, and I'll leave you with a whole corpse."

Linley didn't speak, but slowly raised the Purple Blood Soft Sword.

The burly man grinned maliciously, thrusting out both axes simultaneously. Two massive waves of fire surged forth like enraged dragons. The flames contained explosive divine power, distorting even the air in their wake.

A cold glint flashed in Linley's eyes.

"Wind is more than just fast."

With a swift movement, he darted through the raging waves of flames like a fish. The Blade of Dimension swept silently upwards, slicing across the burly man's throat.

The burly man's sinister smile froze.

The next moment, his head flew high into the air, and his headless body crashed to the ground.

"Boss, your sword strike is getting faster and faster!" Bebe exclaimed.

Linley sheathed his sword, remaining silent, and simply said, "This is only the beginning."

He gazed into the depths of the Blood-colored Wasteland, where even stronger ferocious beasts and more ruthless opponents awaited him.

The seventh day of the trial.

Deep in the wasteland, Linley was surrounded by three ferocious beasts of Lowgod level. These three beasts were a Redfeather Eagle, an Iron-armored Crocodile, and a Netherworld Wolf, each occupying a side and blocking all his escape routes.

Linley was fighting three opponents alone, and although he wasn't at a disadvantage, he was finding it difficult to win for the time being. Bebe was jumping anxiously on his shoulder.

"Boss, let me do it!" Bebe suddenly said.

Linley was taken aback. "You're only at the Saint Realm..."

Before she could finish speaking, Bebe had already leaped out.

A black light shot towards the Redfeather Eagle like lightning. The Redfeather Eagle shrieked and its sharp claws lashed down. But Bebe was faster than the eagle. He twisted his body, dodging the claws, and bit down on the Redfeather Eagle's neck.

Blood splattered.

At that very moment, a familiar yet vast power suddenly descended upon the world.

The Laws of the Universe.

Black divine power surged wildly around Bebe. Under the baptism of the Laws of the Universe, his body transformed inch by inch, and a unique pressure belonging to Deity Level magical beast suddenly spread out.

"You've become a god?" Linley was both surprised and delighted.

The Shadowmouse was originally Divine Beast. Bebe's talent was in no way inferior to his. These seven days of intense battles allowed Bebe to comprehend his own laws amidst life and death, and to become a god all by himself.

Lowgod of Darkness Element slowly condensed and took shape within Bebe's soul.

"Haha!" Bebe roared to the sky, his voice echoing across the surrounding area, "Boss, I'm a god too!"

Linley looked at his childhood friend, a genuine smile appearing on his lips.

"Alright. We'll fight this battle together."
