While the Soul Returner were in high spirits, the two Short-Eared Elf Nuowa and Liya, were quietly watching the scene unfold.
Seeing that the newly arrived Soul Returner had quickly resolved all the current problems, the two remained silent, seemingly lost in thought.
After a moment, the elven assassin suddenly felt a slight pressure on his side.
She turned her head and saw that the elven mage was gently nudging her with his elbow, while gesturing for her to come closer.
Liya lowered her head slightly and heard Nuowa ask in a low voice:
How much money do we have left?
Liya paused for a moment, then pulled a cloth bag, no bigger than a fist, from the hem of her robe. She loosened the drawstring at the top of the bag, revealing a dark hole.
While no one was looking in their direction, Nuowa plunged headfirst into the fist-sized opening of the bag.
The space inside the storage bag seemed to have been folded to some extent. Although the opening was still only as thick as a wrist, Nuowa's head was able to stick inside, as if he had become a headless corpse.
Nuowa turned his head inside the bag, then pulled it out again and whispered:
"There must be underground casinos betting on this kind of election for the Grand Foundry Master. You're the best at finding these clues, so go find them all. It's time for us to make a fortune."
"Kill them all?"
Liya asked, somewhat puzzled, and Nuowa frowned as he retorted:
"Kill everything? This is a great opportunity to increase foreign exchange reserves! I'm telling you to use our money to place bets!"
"Your Highness... uh, Nuowa, this seems like gambling, doesn't it? Isn't that a bad idea?"
"Gambling is when you don't know the outcome; investing is when you do! Look at the imagination and execution of these ' Soul Returner,' I can't imagine Gray Gris losing the election."
"But, but the casinos probably haven't opened Gray's betting yet..."
"Then bet on others to lose."
Which one specifically should we buy?
"Bet on the one with the highest odds."
After explaining the arrangements, Liya remained standing still.
Nuowa turned his head in confusion and saw the elven assassin looking worried:
What if we lose?
Nuowa waved his hand and said:
"Don't worry, if I really lose, I'll report the underground casino to Grand Foundry Master..."
With the assurance of a backup plan, and accompanied by a dim flash, the elven assassin vanished from the King of Fall Resistance, I Guess.
The elven mage who stayed behind to continue teaching the Machine Spirit hummed a nameless tune with smug satisfaction, as if he had already foreseen some of the future.
After a moment, [ the Ginseng Rooster ] came up to Nuowa and greeted him with a smile:
"Respected elf, nice to meet you. My name is [ Ginseng Rooster ]."
"Good name."
Nuowa gave a classic answer.
[ The Ginseng Rooster ] nodded and explained his purpose:
We've finalized a new plan, but we need your help with one part of it. Could you please do this for us?
As he spoke, [ Ginseng Rooster ] pulled a small, glowing wooden piece from his pocket.
The body he was using originally belonged to [ Do Some Farm Work ], so these items were naturally not teleported away.
Seeing that the other person had started taking out wood chips again, Nuowa calmly waved his hand:
"No need. I've already promised to offer indirect assistance in this campaign. Just let me know if you need anything."
"Very good!"
[ Ginseng Rooster ] was surprised that persuading a High Tier was so easy, so he immediately revealed his plan:
"Mr. Magician, the project we're about to begin is called -- ' Machine Spirit Trial Kit'."
"Oh?"
Nuowa raised an eyebrow, seemingly showing some interest.
"As the name suggests, although the Machine Spirit has a wide range of uses, the people of the Great Labyrinth City don't know much about it. So we plan to activate the Machine Spirit for a portion of the Great Labyrinth City for free. Once they realize what a great invention it is, their votes will naturally come to Gray's ballot box."
"I understand, so what do you need me to do?"
[ Ginseng Rooster ] explained earnestly:
"Three necessary conditions are required for a machine to be born with Machine Spirit:"
"First, there must be Blood Corpse as the power source; second, the body composition must be created by the Son of God; and third, it must undergo a powerful Psionic Energy shock."
"I don't know if you can provide that kind of Psionic Energy shock, but it's okay even if you can't--"
[ Ginseng Rooster ] turned his gaze to the depths of the King of Fall Resistance, I Guess, where a Grand Duke's clone, who had been imprisoned and had entered a state of stagnation, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
"We haven't yet determined whether only the Grand Duke's Psionic Energy shock can accomplish this, so if your Psionic Energy cannot activate the Machine Spirit, please intervene slightly to persuade the Grand Duke to do it willingly."
He was clearly not very willing.
Nuowa said, stroking his chin.
"It's alright, sir. I learned a method from a lich that can quickly change someone's attitude. Although I don't know how to use it, I understand the principle. As far as I know, this method has never failed me."
The elven mage smiled knowingly upon hearing this.
"Interesting! Let's give it a try."
Another hour passed, and the day finally came to an end.
Apart from the later " Ginseng Rooster," the twelve hours of online time for the people present had basically been used up.
However, they've already learned to exploit loopholes in the game system—even though their online time is gone, others still have time!
Several people pulled out Disposable Resurrection Tree and inserted them into their bodies. After pairing up, they immediately swapped bodies with the others who were already eagerly waiting for their turn.
[ Vanilla Ice Cream Scoop ] swapped bodies with his best friend [ Pond Fish and Old Abyss ], while the remaining three became [ Gu Gugu ], [ Litang's Supremely Fierce Tiger ], and [ Noncompliant Nickname 1214 ].
After getting acquainted with their new body, everyone began to eagerly take over the tasks that their predecessors had not yet completed.
Meanwhile, the elven mage also noticed the changes in the appearance of the Machine Spirit.
At this moment, inside the cabin of the King of Fall Resistance, I Guess, there are six vines hanging from the ceiling.
Although these vines look exactly the same, they are doing six completely different things at this moment.
Drawing circles, five-pointed stars, cubes, writing, knife spinning, and basic juggling.
These six completely different things continued to run in parallel for five minutes. The mage watched the entire process, from the initial caution to the slight panic in the middle, and finally to the ease with which the Machine Spirit handled it.
When the five minutes were up, all the vines immediately stopped moving.
Although he couldn't see the eyes, Nuowa could feel a strange gaze watching him.
He smiled slightly and clapped his hands gently.
Before he could even offer his congratulations, a deep, muffled laugh echoed throughout the entire "King of Fall Resistance, I Guess:
"Hahahaha, I did it, Bro!"
