The Great Labyrinth City's words were clear and logical, and there was really no fault in them.
Everyone who heard this fell into a brief silence.
Is this the power of the Machine Spirit?
Given enough history and enough size, it seems like anything is possible...
Of all the people, Balund was probably the most excited.
The more he listened, the more he felt that the Great Labyrinth City was the perfect Grand Foundry Master in his mind.
He is exceptionally capable, reliable, and has a calm and composed personality; his abilities are also quite remarkable.
More importantly, the body of the Great Labyrinth City is the city itself, and from a survival perspective, it certainly doesn't want to be erased from this world, so it will definitely do things to make the Graycast Corridor better.
And most importantly, the Great Labyrinth City is not a person at all. He should not have many human flaws, such as being soft-hearted, hesitant, or biased. At least, he should not have them so obviously.
Thinking of this, Balund was already getting impatient. Hearing the Great Labyrinth City say that he could continue to grow stronger if he had a stable supply of Psionic Energy, he immediately asked:
" Great Labyrinth City, as a living being, are you willing to accept my Psionic Energy inheritance?"
Clearly, he hadn't forgotten his previous contingency plan, which was originally intended for Gray and Nora. However, it now seemed that these two were not as suitable for the position of Grand Foundry Master as he was from the Great Labyrinth City.
Before the Machine Spirit could answer, Nuowa stepped forward and gently patted Balund's shoulder, signaling him not to rush.
The elven mage vanished instantly, reappearing inside the King of Fall Resistance, I Guess the next moment.
Inside the miniature fortress, near the stairs, the bored Machine Spirit, while on autopilot, was playing cat's cradle with the Hall's clone, who was bound in a corner.
Although Hall's power was mostly sealed, he could still move some light objects using his Psionic Energy.
The King of Fall Resistance, I Guess itself is the source of the vine rope, so it can naturally be controlled with considerable precision.
The two were exchanging blows when suddenly, a flash of inspiration appeared before Hall, and Nuowa, with a strange smile, appeared in front of him.
He grabbed Hall by the collar and then vanished instantly.
The flower rope, stretched at its four corners and no longer supported by Psionic Energy, fluttered and fell to the ground.
After a brief moment of astonishment, the King of Fall Resistance, I Guess emitted an indescribable, Machine Spirit scream.
In the library's underground area, Nuowa reappeared, dragging another Hall clone with him.
Across the spatial rift, the two Hall clones exchanged a glance, simultaneously conveying the encouraging message, "The enemy is powerful, endure the humiliation and bear the burden," before being forcibly separated.
" Balund, don't always think you can do everything by yourself."
Nuowa patted his former junior on the shoulder:
"Isn't this readily available? Why insist on burning yourself out?"
Having completed the information synchronization, Hall roughly understood Nuowa's thoughts and looked at him with an expression that said, "You're amazing, you're so high and mighty."
After a brief hesitation, Balund nodded:
"Okay, then we'll use this one."
He looked at Nuowa and bowed slightly:
Please help me complete the seal.
"It's nothing."
Nuowa waved, Balund turned to the other side:
"The Great Labyrinth, can the clone of Hall, the progenitor of vampires, provide you with a stable supply of psychic energy?"
"Can."
The Machine Spirit said seriously, and the plan to seal Machine Spirit and turn him into the Hall battery was discussed in this way, without consulting Hall himself at all.
The plan was quickly agreed upon, and under everyone's watchful eyes, the Great Labyrinth City disassembled a part of the Mind Coffin, assembling it into a box resembling a coffin.
Balund pulled out an engraving knife from his waist and began to carve the Psionic Energy Circuit very quickly, while Nuowa was responsible for stabilizing Hall's state so that he could be placed into the seal intact.
Hall knew that the end of this clone had come, but fortunately there was still new hope in the Demon Realm, so he pretended to be completely unable to accept it and began to struggle frantically.
Nuowa and Hall had faced each other in the seal for more than half a century. Now that they were able to seal each other again without having to guard it themselves, they were extremely focused on this matter. No matter how Hall struggled, the temporary seal from the elves was like a cable tie that could only tighten in one direction and showed no signs of loosening.
"Bang!"
The pure metal coffin lid closed, and the Psionic Energy Circuit on the lid and the coffin body became one and began to operate smoothly. A dozen metal bolts and rivets were driven into the metal coffin at different angles. With a flash of lightning, the Great Labyrinth City gained a very stable source of Psionic Energy.
"I feel great right now."
After getting used to the new changes, the Machine Spirit's muffled voice came again:
"I am willing to serve the Graycast Corridor. What is there that I can do?"
Ed felt that after the new battery was connected, the overall mental state of the Great Labyrinth City improved significantly.
Looking at this almost ideal Grand Foundry Master, Balund nodded in satisfaction, then gave the Machine Spirit his first and last command:
"[ Machine Spirit: The Great Labyrinth City ], from this moment forward, you are the Grand Foundry Master of the Graycast Corridor. I hope that all your future decisions will adhere to three principles:"
First: Do everything in our power to ensure the continuation of humanity.
"Second: Without violating the first point, do everything possible to protect the Graycast Corridor."
Third: Protect yourself to the best of your ability, without violating the first and second points.
These words surprised Ed and the five Soul Returner from another world the most.
Everyone has heard of the Three Laws of Robotics to some extent, but I didn't expect that this old guy Balund could come up with something almost identical right away.
But thinking about it carefully, the old guy was, after all, someone who could design such an outrageous machine as the Mind Coffin with his brother. He might have become the King of Programmers in another world.
"Yes, I understand."
As if carefully recording Balund's instructions, after a moment of silence, the Great Labyrinth City Machine Spirit decisively responded.
"Phew~"
With the Machine Spirit's permission granted, Balund was relieved of his last worry, and his whole body slumped down in an instant, as if he had become a real old man.
He took a few deep breaths and looked again at Gray and Nora in the corner.
The couple noticed the old man in gray looking at them and felt a little embarrassed for a moment.
Regardless, they ultimately failed to shoulder the responsibility that should have been theirs. Will this cause resentment in the heart of this former Grand Foundry Master?
Unsure, the two simply stood there awaiting orders.
"Although it didn't go according to plan at all, the result is still good."
Balund said:
"So, Gray Griss, you'll still be in charge of the official Grand Foundry Master, is there a problem?"
