He roughly determined Vanessa's location by the source of the sound, and shrugged in that direction:
" Vanessa, my dear sister, please bring them all to keep me company, I'm so lonely!"
"Don't put on that disgusting face in front of me."
"Okay, okay."
Hall said with a smile:
That's all I wanted to tell you. Before Rosalind knows about our deal, prepare a nice surprise for her.
Goodbye, Vanessa.
Goodbye, Hall.
The King of Domination waved his hand, and the heavily armored guards came to the back of the Hall's wheelchair, preparing to take him back to the dungeon to continue his imprisonment.
After saying these words, the guy bound in the straitjacket actually kept his promise and stopped struggling, letting himself be taken back to the underground cell to enjoy his newfound freedom.
The palace doors slowly closed, and from behind the throne, the Immortal King's voice, aged and hoarse like a rusty door hinge, echoed. The two, unable to meet, began a question-and-answer session:
"If you can really pinpoint Rosalind's location, will you personally go and investigate?"
"Perhaps."
There was a moment of silence on the other side of the throne, as if someone was calculating something, before finally speaking softly:
"Okay, then if you're going to do it, I can hold out for five minutes."
"Thank you. You seem to be in great shape. How long will it take for you to return to your peak?"
"It's taking longer than you expected."
A sigh came from the other end, sounding like an old bellows leaking air.
"I've tried everything I could think of during this time, but there's been almost no progress. The problem must be with you."
"Me here?"
A questioning voice came from the other side of the throne. The Immortal King said calmly:
"Yes, I possess all the abilities of three dragon subspecies, yet I have never been able to fuse them together to heal my... our injuries, because our powers have become unbalanced."
"Our original plan was actually quite reasonable: you would annex a Grand Duke, and I would integrate a dragon power."
"But now the plan is far removed from the original one."
"You only fully possess the power of Antos, while you have only acquired a portion of Adelaide and Hall."
" Hall's part is alright; in terms of power, it might account for a quarter or a fifth of the total."
"But Adelaide's portion, which is essentially just a small amount of True Blood from a duke, is hardly something to brag about."
"So, while you nominally possess the power of four vampire lineages, you only truly wield Authority over two of them."
Vanessa was silent for a few moments, then said with a hint of helplessness:
"There are more than just the two of us in this world who are intelligent and capable. Our previous actions have already made it clear to those who are interested that we are who we are."
Things will only get more difficult from here on out.
The Immortal King on the other side also agreed:
"All powerful individuals yearn to Transcendent Tier; there's no way around it."
"However, this is indeed an opportunity, and I hope you can seize it."
"Once you successfully hunt Rosalind, our power will be balanced again."
"Then we can make our first attempt."
Graycast Corridor, Great Labyrinth City.
" Gray, I'm not feeling well."
A voice suddenly rang out, deep yet tinged with a hint of doubt:
"It seems there's a problem with the core components."
Gray woke up with a start, looked at the brass mechanical arm extended in front of him, and asked in confusion:
"Even Machine Spirit feel uncomfortable?"
The Great Labyrinth City 'Machine Spirit pondered and said:
"I've never felt this way before today."
Gray got out of bed, put on his coat, and went to check on things.
But then he suddenly remembered that he was only a half-baked mechanic, so he called Nora over again.
The two looked at each other for a moment, then suddenly realized that they were both half-baked, so they called over Balund and Aiboke, who had not yet returned to the Theocracy to enjoy their retirement.
Led by the robotic arm, the four descended and entered the true underground core of the Great Labyrinth City from the very center of the Rotating Library.
Just like a few months ago, the place was so dark that there was almost no light source. Numerous mechanical components were constantly meshing and working, processing large amounts of data.
The aftermath of the [ Giant Arms ] invasion has not yet completely subsided, and the Great Labyrinth City is still licking its wounds.
Deep underground, a furnace is operating around the clock, casting new parts every minute and every second.
Upon reaching the lower level of the core area, Gray pointed to the two " Mind Coffin " in front of him and asked:
"Do you feel uncomfortable here?"
"Yes, this is it."
"Can't you handle it yourself? You repaired a lot of the damage in the city during the previous battles."
Machine Spirit was also somewhat helpless about this:
"Just like how humans can bandage themselves but can't perform heart surgery on themselves."
"I can handle things on the ground, but once the ' Mind Coffin ' is activated, I will temporarily lose my power."
"Okay, let me take a look."
The speaker was Aiboke, the strongest mechanic in the World of Disorder and the former Grand Foundry Master.
He rolled up his sleeves, revealing his puppet-like, flexible mechanical joints, and turned to Balund, saying:
"Brother, you're in charge of preventing accidents."
"No problem."
Balund pulled out his engraving knife and made a few strokes in the air, and an invisible shield quickly enveloped the group.
The two brothers hadn't forgotten what exactly was inside the Mind Coffin.
There are two Mind Coffin underground in the Great Labyrinth City. One was originally prepared for Gray, but was later modified by Ed into a core that possesses both flesh and plant attributes.
This Mind Coffin connects the entire Great Labyrinth City, and is the true "brain" of the Great Labyrinth City's Machine Spirit.
The other Mind Coffin was not the one that originally imprisoned Aiboke —the oldest Mind Coffin had been made into his current armor, the one he wore when fighting [ Giant Arms ].
The second coffin was built by everyone together later, and it contained the one-third of the Hall that was ostensibly imprisoned (actually one-quarter).
Although it was only a part of the body, Hall was still able to provide a large amount of Domination Psionic Energy to the Great Labyrinth City Machine Spirit.
So these two Mind Coffin are indeed literally "mental" coffins, one simulating the human brain and spinal cord, and the other simulating the human heart.
Now, the problem lies with the coffin responsible for the heart's function.
After confirming everyone was safe, Aiboke went to a control panel, made some adjustments, and finally pulled down a lever.
"Cool Kiki~"
Accompanied by a distorted sound effect from who-knows-where, the Mind Coffin slowly opened before everyone, revealing Hall, who was bound in the innermost layer.
