I'm all better?
How did I get better?
"Did you do this? How did you do it?" Leo immediately asked the reflection, his tone not serious but full of doubt.
In Leo's mind, disappearing and reappearing happened in an instant, and the result was resolved in that instant!
This time, the reflection remained silent, rushing straight towards Leo. Before Leo could react, it entered Leo's body and merged with Leo.
Leo was familiar with this operation; the shadows outside did it Heavenly Capital, but he never thought that his own reflection could do it too.
On second thought, the reflection is a mutation of the Shadow Talent, so isn't it perfectly normal for it to merge with itself?
A string of memories flooded his mind, Leo finally understood what the reflection had done: it had actually devoured one-tenth of his sea of consciousness.
This means that one-tenth of Leo's soul is in his body.
Leo became anxious.
Don't resort to such extreme methods to cure yourself, will you?
To have one-tenth of one's soul missing is more serious than to have one's soul injured!
It appears that one-tenth of the soul entered the reflection's body. After the reflection and Leo merged, one-tenth of the soul returned.
But a reflection is a reflection, and Leo's true form is Leo's true form.
Looking at that nuclear material shadow, when has it ever completely spat out the nuclear material Leo gave it? It always selects the part that can accelerate cell evolution and fuses it with Leo, instead of fusing it all.
Simply put, of the things that the shadow merges with, perhaps only one percent is fed back to the original body; the rest is intercepted by the shadow.
Similarly, the reflection could very well retain most of the soul, returning only a small portion to Leo.
If that's the case, Leo doesn't even know what to do.
This is much more serious than an injury.
At least a wounded soul can be healed, but how can you heal a tenth of your soul that was swallowed by the reflection?
Reach your hand into the reflection's belly and pull out its soul?
The harm caused by the loss of one's soul is immense, affecting all aspects of life. At best, it severely diminishes one's strength, preventing advancement; at worst, it causes one's strength to regress, turning one into an idiot.
Just as Leo was worried, he suddenly noticed a surge of power emanating from the reflection, instantly making the illusory figure of Leo solid.
"This is...?"
Leo's expression instantly changed from surprise to delight. Could this really be done?
In reality, Benji lay beside Leo's bed, quietly waiting for Leo to wake up.
He and Alice had originally carried Leo back to see if Leo could recover on her own, but they didn't expect Leo aura to fluctuate so wildly.
A few days later, his strength began to fluctuate, sometimes increasing and sometimes decreasing, like a rollercoaster. Sometimes, Leo's body would suddenly jump up and then suddenly fall down.
In the Earth language that Benji learned from the depths of Leo's memories, it means that Leo has come back to life!
Alice sought out the wizards on the mothership, but after examining him for a long time, they couldn't come up with a solution. They simply told Alice to wait a little longer, as Leo might recover on his own.
Upon hearing this, Benji nearly punched the wizard away. Leo was completely out of control, clearly terminally ill; how could he possibly recover?
But perhaps the wizard was too professional, because Alice and Benji couldn't believe that Leo's aura had miraculously stabilized after the wizard examined him...
And it began to rise gradually. Although Leo was still unconscious, at least his breathing had stabilized and his body was beginning to be filled with power.
The chicken, which was originally so weak it looked like it could be crushed with a flick of the wrist, now at least looks a bit like Body Refinement Wizard.
Benji's opinion of the wizard changed drastically. Wizards were indeed mysterious and eccentric; no one could be certain what kind of unfathomable abilities a wizard possessed!
After an unknown amount of time, Leo let out a muffled sound, then slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was the one-eyed Benji, who was looking at him with concern.
"How long did I sleep?" Leo asked, his breathing steady and his tone firm.
"Three months," said Benji.
"Three months, that's quite a long time."
"No, counting the time you spent in the nutrient tank, it's been four months already," Benji said in a low voice.
"Oh"
Leo didn't care about time; as long as his body could recover, time was the least valuable thing.
"I'll go tell Alice you're awake. Alice has been taking care of you all this time, so you should thank her properly."
A cunning glint appeared in Benji's single eye. Although he didn't know how Leo had recovered, he could sense that Leo had fully recovered, and even the weakness in his soul had disappeared.
Benji ran quickly out of the room. Leo stood up and stretched, his bones crackling like firecrackers.
The dizziness subsided, consciousness returned to normal, and the body functioned at its peak.
"Mental Strength 40, Physical Strength 95, Power 97"
"My mental strength has decreased by 10 points, and it will take a year to recover to 50 points, but that doesn't matter."
With her eyes closed, Leo had already sensed the final result of the injury to her soul: her mental strength would temporarily drop to 40 points.
This level of damage is nothing for a Body Refinement Wizard...
It wasn't an injury.
What Body Refinement Wizard would pay attention to mental energy?!
I heard you've fully recovered?
Benji led Alice in. Alice glanced at him a few times, her mental energy constantly scanning Leo. She confirmed that he no longer felt weak.
"Thank you so much for taking care of me during this time," Leo said to Alice very sincerely.
"No need to thank me. After all, you saved my life before. This is nothing."
Alice smiled lightly and changed the subject, referring to the life-saving mission her team was undertaking to wipe out an army of a million Eyeless Spider.
Leo smiled but didn't tell Alice how he wanted to repay her; there was no need for such formalities between them anymore.
Leo inquired about what happened after he detonated the nuclear bomb. He heard that Benji led his entire squad back to the mothership after being chased by ten Level Three Eyeless Spider for five days and five nights.
Leo felt a warmth in his heart. Benji had never held a very high place in his heart. The reasons for this were complicated. Perhaps Benji knew all his memories, or perhaps Benji wasn't strong enough.
But through this incident, Leo, seeing that Benji didn't say anything but gently patted Benji's head a few times, had already secretly made some decisions in his heart.
I also heard that April's squad has returned underground to continue their mission. Leo received special treatment because of his Third-Class Wizard Medal; otherwise, Leo wouldn't have recovered so quickly.
"I might need to stay on the mothership for a while longer. If you're not in a hurry, wait for me. After all, I'm a seriously injured soldier who has just recovered!" Leo said to Alice, half-jokingly and half-invitingly.
"No problem, I always feel that I might gain more by working with you."
Alice left with a relaxed smile, perhaps relieved to see Leo recover.
"You go out too and keep all the outside wizards at bay. No matter who they are, they absolutely cannot be let in without my permission," Leo said to Benji very seriously.
"Clear."
Hearing Leo's tone, Benji knew that Leo definitely had something important to do, so he immediately went out to guard the gate to ensure that no one could get in.
After Leo released his senses and confirmed that there was no problem, he took a step, and a shadow immediately appeared in front of Leo.
Just like in his sea of consciousness, the pitch-black shadow faced Leo.
Leo took a step forward and instantly merged with the shadow.
Previously, the fusion involved the shadow merging into Leo's body, but this time it was different; this time it was more like Leo merging into the shadow's body.
A pitch-black Leo appeared in the room. If there was anything different about him, it was that this pitch-black Leo was three-dimensional, not two-dimensional.
Hei Leo seemed to blink, but he was so dark that nothing could be seen from his appearance.
All that could be seen was Leo was completely dark inside the room, standing motionless.
There was no fluctuation of energy, no sensory scattering, and not even temperature. If other wizards were to perceive him, Leo's current state would resemble that of a corpse!
But only Leo knew what the world looked like after he merged into the shadows.
It's like being flipped over and entering a world of reflections.
This world is just like the real world, but everything is black and upside down.
The bed, the room, and even the entire starship— Leo even saw the shadow of Benji outside the room, obeying his orders.
You can see Benji sitting warily in front of the door, watching everything that's happening in front of it.
The only difference is that things in the Shadow World have strange angles, bending at various angles.
This is due to the lighting conditions in reality, which causes the shadows to have different angles!
"This must be the Shadow World?"
Leo looked at his own body, which was also entirely black and in shadow. The only difference was that he could move freely, unlike other shadows that were subject to their real-world counterparts.
Leo recalled that when he first met Benji, Benji had said that their Jeft World suspected there was a Shadow World, a reflection of all worlds.
It is the dreamland of all beings with the Shadow Talent!
It is a place where the rules of shadow have taken shape!
That was a place they longed for, a place even the gods of their world couldn't reach!
Leo never imagined that he would witness this Shadow World with his own eyes today!
This ability came from the reflection in his sea of consciousness, because the reflection had merged with one-tenth of his soul, which meant that a part of Leo's soul had entered the reflection world, also known as the Shadow World, before him.
The initial idea behind the reflection tearing apart the soul was to allow Leo's consciousness clone to merge with the soul fragments, thus restoring Leo's health.
