Zhao Xinyu initially combines pride in her own strength with skepticism toward untested reputations. On meeting Qin Yu, she acknowledges his achievements despite his low-grade Spirit Root but insists that only actual combat can establish whether the rumors are deserved. She is similarly unimpressed by intimidation, answering Tang Lie’s threats without flinching 28 32.

Her confidence is tempered by gratitude toward her sect. After defeating Tang Lie, she credits Cloud-Leveling Hall’s nurturing rather than boasting. She fiercely defends its honor against Huo Caixu and later promises to uphold its name at White Cloud Sect 32 35 38.

Her growing independence centers on protecting others rather than relying on their protection. After obtaining Moon-Congealing Frost, she resolves not to remain behind her companions; during the black dragon battle, she shields the gravely wounded Qin Yu and Yang Zheng despite her own bleeding arms. History

Cloud-Leveling Hall and the Inter-Sect Tournament

An established outer-disciple talent, Zhao Xinyu accompanies Nangong Heyao to meet Qin Yu before the Great Yan Continent inter-sect tournament. Their initially competitive exchange softens during the gathering. She also shows particular warmth toward the nervous Yang Zheng, pouring him wine and encouraging him to relax 28.

At White Frost Ancient City, she defeats Gale Hall’s Tang Lie with the Splendid Radiance Sword Art. After witnessing Liu Hongzhuang’s dangerous blood-burning technique, she joins her companions in agreeing that she and Yang Zheng should concede rather than face that opponent 32 33.

Instead, Zhao Xinyu draws Pure Fragrance Garden’s Huo Caixu. Their prolonged fire-and-ice duel ends with Zhao Xinyu’s sword shattered and her unable to continue. Huo Caixu attempts to kill her with a flaming spear, but Yang Zheng intervenes and shields her. Cloud-Leveling Hall’s elder condemns the attack, while Pure Fragrance Garden’s elder defends it, intensifying the feud between the sects 34 35.

Entry into White Cloud Sect

Following Cloud-Leveling Hall’s tournament championship, Zhao Xinyu receives rewards and a purple-gold token alongside Qin Yu, Yang Zheng, and Nangong Heyao. She accompanies Qin Yu and Yang Zheng to White Cloud Sect, while Nangong Heyao leaves for Juntian Hall 38.

The trio passes the White Cloud Heavenly Stele test, becomes outer disciples, and is assigned to Heavenly Splendor Peak. Zhao Xinyu strengthens her Spiritual Sense and Qi channels during the journey, then reaches major accomplishment of the Qi Condensation Realm after settling into the sect 39 40.

Immortal Vein Ruins

Zhao Xinyu supports choosing the Immortal Vein Ruins for the trio’s first patrol assignment, viewing its dangers as an opportunity to test their abilities. At an ancient altar, she suspects that the ruins conceal an existence beyond the Yuan Transformation Realm 40.

After helping defeat a middle-stage Yuan Transformation guardian beast, she enters a dragon-guarded cave with Yang Zheng while Qin Yu draws the dragon away. There, the divine sword Moon-Congealing Frost accepts her as its master. Its released sword intent attracts the dragon back, forcing the three disciples into battle. Zhao Xinyu protects her companions, suppresses the dragon’s breath and soul, and delivers the killing strikes before collecting its demon core 41 42.

The wounded trio recuperates in a secluded cave, aided by spiritual herbs, spirit stones, and roasted dragon meat. Zhao Xinyu begins practicing the Soul Blade Void-Breaking Art, and the three pledge to remain together through life and death 43.

Deeper in the ruins, she helps withstand a runic colossus’s attacks while the group exploits its chest formation ring. After defeating it, they enter a golden ancient road whose Spiritual Qi torrent tests their bodies and Fate Souls. Zhao Xinyu survives the ordeal and advances into the Yuan Transformation Realm 50.
