The sound waves suddenly flooded into the Black Jade Lion's mind.

Its body suddenly stiffened, its eyes rolled back, and its forward-rushing figure lost its balance.

The next moment.

"Laugh--"

The arrow pierced straight into the head of the Black Jade Lion.

Blood spurted out, the Black Jade Lion swayed twice, and then its body collapsed limply to the ground.

Shen Heng did not stop and continued forward.

They killed two more Black Jade Lion.

After killing the second Black Jade Lion, Shen Heng continued to walk forward.

However, after a short while, he slowly stopped walking.

"What's wrong?" Le Gu Nan asked softly, noticing something was amiss.

Shen Heng tilted his head slightly, looking diagonally upwards.

In my mind, a much larger Black Jade Lion was sitting quietly on the ground, facing one direction.

Where it was looking, two Black Jade Lion were pacing back and forth outside a heavy, but somewhat damaged, iron gate.

Inside the iron gate was a figure gripping a pistol, intently watching the entrance, along with more than ten people hiding further behind.

Shen Heng withdrew his gaze. "We can't lure the remaining two Second Tier Calamity Beast Calamity Beast. They're still near that Tier 3 Calamity Beast."

Upon hearing this, Le Gu Nan's brows furrowed slightly.

If that's the case, then it means...

They could choose to go up and face the combination of one Third Tier and Second Tier 2 Black Jade Lion.

The only option is to give up and wait for others.

"Um, how about we wait for the captain and the others to arrive before we talk?" Le Gu Nan suggested softly, looking at Shen Heng.

There are a total of eight Calamity Beast in the mall.

They killed two at the entrance, and then killed three more along the way after they came in, for a total of five.

In other words, the three Calamity Beast above are the final three.

Based on her understanding of Shen Heng, the fact that Shen Heng was standing here quietly meant that the situation was not serious.

If that's the case, then staying here and waiting for others to arrive is undoubtedly the best option.

Shen Heng thought for a moment and nodded.

Although he felt it wasn't entirely impossible to fight, reality isn't a simulation, so it was better to play it safe.

The two of them waited quietly, separated from the Calamity Beast by a single layer.

While the two were waiting, another car finally arrived at the mall entrance.

Soon, the car door opened, and a somewhat plump figure stepped out.

That was Wu Cheng, whom Shen Heng hadn't seen for a long time.

Wu Cheng turned his head and looked around, then his gaze settled on Fan Hong. He then walked over to him.

"Hey, Old Fan, am I the first one to arrive at our station?" Wu Cheng asked, somewhat puzzled.

Red Leaf Mall is in the northern suburbs. The closest place to us should be the Supervision Bureau, which is located a little north of the city center.

How come he arrived first?

"No, Shen Heng and Le Gu Nan arrived first," Fan Hong explained to Wu Cheng.

Wu Cheng was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, and asked in surprise, " Shen Heng?"

"Yes, didn't you know he's back?" Fan Hong nodded.

"Judging by the time, he should have finished training, but he didn't say anything!" Wu Cheng's mouth dropped open. "Never mind, never mind, he didn't say anything when he left either. Where are they now?"

"We've been inside for a while now!" Fan Hong pointed to the mall entrance.

Wu Cheng looked in the direction Fan Hong was pointing.

Two dark, grimy corpses lay on the long corridor.

He squinted slightly, focusing his gaze on the corpses of the two Calamity Beast as he examined them.

He quickly realized the result.

"Good heavens, two Tier 2 Black Jade Lion?" Wu Cheng clicked his tongue, then looked away.

"So you're still guarding this place because there are still Calamity Beast inside?"

"Hmm." Fan Hong nodded. " Shen Heng just said there's one Tier 3 Calamity Beast and seven Second Tier Calamity Beast inside."

Fan Hong's words made Wu Cheng, who was about to run in to help, stop in his tracks. He turned to look at Fan Hong in disbelief.

"One Tier 3, and seven Second Tier?!"

"Yes." Fan Hong nodded seriously. "That's what Shen Heng told me."

"Are you kidding me? Those two are only Tier 2, and their abilities aren't even really suited for combat, yet they just charged in like that?" Wu Cheng's eyes widened, a hint of disbelief in them.

"I was also puzzled, but Shen Heng said that even if he couldn't win, he wouldn't die. Besides, there were still some people trapped inside at the time, so I let them in," Fan Hong said, frowning.

Is this an ability used to avoid Tier 3 Calamity Beast?

Wait a minute, wasn't Shen Heng's ability only to hear sounds? When did he become able to determine the rank of Calamity Beast?

Wu Cheng turned to look at Fan Hong.

Fan Hong seemed to know what he wanted to ask, and said in advance:

Shen Heng said it was a new application of his abilities.

Wu Cheng raised an eyebrow. It seemed even safer now!

He withdrew his gaze, only to find himself caught in a dilemma once more.

Should I go in or not?

Shen Heng can use his abilities to avoid Tier 3 Calamity Beast, but he can't.

Don't go in to help and end up encountering a Tier 3 Calamity Beast!

But if I don't go in, am I just going to wait here?

Just as Wu Cheng was struggling with his decision, a white BMW pulled up, and Han Ling quickly got out of the car.

"Did you get here first?" Han Ling asked.

"No, Shen Heng and Le Gu Nan have already gone in," Wu Cheng said.

"Hmm? Shen Heng is back."

"Um."

"What are we waiting for? They've gone in to deal with the Calamity Beast, which means it's not dangerous. Let's hurry in too!"

"No, there's a Tier 3 Calamity Beast inside, and seven Tier 2 ones," Wu Cheng stopped him.

"Then why did they go in?" Han Ling's eyes widened as well.

"I guess Shen Heng used his abilities to avoid the Tier 3 Calamity Beast, which is why he was able to get in. But we can't do that, so I'm debating whether or not to go in," Wu Cheng said.

"Why are you making such a fuss? Just ask!"

"Ask? How should I ask?" Wu Cheng asked, somewhat puzzled.

Han Ling looked at Wu Cheng as if he were an idiot, and then she reached up and pressed the button on the earpiece hanging on her ear.

"Hey, Shen Heng!"

Wu Cheng coughed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed; he had been so focused on whether or not he could get in.

He stood still, waiting for a response from his headset.

Soon, they heard a sound in their earpiece, but it wasn't Shen Heng's familiar voice; instead, it was another familiar female voice.

"His headset is at the station; we didn't go in to get it just now. What's wrong, Sister Ling?"

"How are you doing now?" Han Ling asked.

Le Gu Nan glanced at Shen Heng standing to the side and said:

"We've dealt with Calamity Beast we could. There's one Third Tier and two Tier 2 monsters stuck together. We're at it now..."

Shen Heng stood to the side, listening quietly.

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed, and he instinctively raised his head to look diagonally upwards.

There, a heavy clang rang out, followed quickly by another.

Realizing what had happened, Shen Heng quickly raised his long sword and struck the ground.

The sound waves quickly rippled outwards and then bounced back.

A black-and-white image quickly formed in his mind.

Seemingly growing impatient from the prolonged delay, the two Calamity Beast that had been lingering in front of the iron gate began to rapidly ram against it.

Noticing Shen Heng's unusual behavior, Le Gu Nan continued talking with Han Ling and the others while looking at him with some confusion.

Shen Heng withdrew his gaze, looked at Le Gu Nan, and calmly said:

"It's too late! Let's go in first and get them in quickly!"
