The Vine Net

"... Quick, retreat! These guys have rebelled!"

A roar suddenly erupted in the woods somewhere in Black Stone Valley.

Almost without pausing, the dozen or so Black Rat turned and scurried back the way they came.

"Quick, after them! We absolutely can't let them get away..."

A roar rose from behind them, followed by a cacophony of powerful footsteps.

The fleeing Black Rat tensed up, its steps quickening.

The One Ear Black Rat also quickened its pace.

Even now, it still couldn't quite understand. It had simply heard a strange noise and followed the Red Eye Lord to check the situation, so how... had it turned out like this?!

The footsteps behind them didn't seem to be getting any closer; in fact, they started to fade into the distance.

That's normal. The lowest level here is at least Third Tier, but the highest level of those Calamity Beast later on is only Third Tier!

Furthermore, due to the lack of food during this period, their physical strength was severely depleted.

Under normal circumstances, you just can't catch up with it...

Suddenly caught in his thoughts, Black Rat One Ear turned his gaze forward.

As the leaves rustled, several Calamity Beast pounced down, clutching a crudely made vine net.

"Attack! Quick, attack! Kill them before they escape!"

"Charge! Attack!"

"Roar--! Damn you guys..."

More Calamity Beast chased after them from behind, and a large number of Calamity Beast appeared in front to block their path. Then, the Red Eye Lord was caught in the vine net.

The One Ear Black Rat was at a loss for what to do and could only stand there blankly.

In their field of vision, the Red Eye adult was resisting the vine net while constantly roaring.

Its resistance did indeed have an effect; the Calamity Beast that attacked it could not inflict much damage on it.

But the other Black Rat weren't so lucky.

Despite their relatively low rank, they were quickly injured when facing enemies several times their size and being severely hampered by the vine netting.

Soon, the Black Rat were beaten to the point of near death.

Some were even beaten to death!

Realizing something was wrong, the Black Rat with Red Eye abandoned its initial resistance and instead began tearing at the vine net covering it, despite the attacks.

Wounds quickly appeared on its body.

However, the rattan net quickly developed a tear during this process.

The next instant, the Black Rat with Red Eye darted out of the vine net.

Fresh blood was dripping down its body.

Ignoring the other Black Rat, the Red Eye Black Rat quickly channeled its Origin Power, trying to fly upwards. However, just a few meters off the ground, another vine net descended upon it.

"Damn you, you beasts! Don't give me a chance, or I'll kill you all!" Black Rat roared madly with Red Eye.

But the Calamity Beast completely ignored it.

"Quickly, kill it!"

"Kill it! Kill these Black Rat!"

"There are also Black Rat nearby. Keep a close eye on them and don't let them escape..."

One after another, the Calamity Beast roared.

At this moment, they were bloodthirsty, and the oppression and abuse they had suffered in the past had transformed into intense killing intent.

The murderous intent transformed into an aggressive desire, which was then directed at the Black Rat.

Reminded, the Calamity Beast also turned their attention to the Black Rat, including One Ear Black Rat, who were standing to the side.

However, because they were only at the Third Tier and not yet trapped in the vine net, they did not attack immediately, but instead kept a close watch on them to prevent them from having any thoughts of escaping.

"Damn it, you idiots! Attack them!"

Some of the Black Rat hesitated for a moment before reacting and attacking the Calamity Beast.

However, some Black Rat remained in place due to the sheer number of rebellious Calamity Beast.

This includes the One Ear.

However, their helplessness did not last long.

With three Black Rat remaining in the vine net, excluding the Red Eye adult, the loud footsteps from behind came again.

Before they could even react to what they were supposed to do, excited roars came from the attacking Calamity Beast:

"Quick, reinforcements are here! Let's go, kill them!"

One after another, the Calamity Beast that had initially only been eyeing them surged forward.

Black Rat and One Ear were forced to fight back.

Fortunately, the number of Calamity Beast attacking them was small enough to withstand; unfortunately, they could only withstand them.

The rebel Calamity Beast that came to their aid arrived quickly.

The Black Rat ' resistance then quickly entered its final stage.

One Black Rat after another fell to the ground.

As he fell, Black Rat One Ear saw that only three remained on the field.

The Red Eye adult was still struggling, but it still couldn't get out of the vine net, and blood was flowing down its body as if it were free.

Somewhat bewildered, it turned its gaze back to the pairs of menacing eyes shining brightly in the dark forest around it.

Why are these guys rebelling?

"... You beasts, do you want to die? You think you can escape?! Let me tell you, you lot will never get out of here in your entire lives."

"Stop right now and attack those rebellious Calamity Beast. That way, I can give you a chance to serve our Black Rat Clan in the future."

"If you don't do this, let me tell you, you won't even have the chance to die a quick death later!"

The blood-stained Black Rat howled wildly amidst the chaotic herd of beasts.

The conditions seemed somewhat tempting, and many of the Calamity Beast paused slightly, their movements becoming hesitant.

But before they could think it through, another roar rang out from the side:

"You actually believe what these Black Rat say? Haven't you seen what they were like before, or heard what they used to say?"

"If we could believe what they say, we wouldn't have gone hungry all this time!"

"If we could believe them, we wouldn't be standing here attacking them!"
