Background / History
The Ye Family rules Ye City from a heavily guarded central manor and is counted among the Pill Domain's Five Great Clans. Its influence was traditionally founded on alchemy, a network of retainers and allies, and the standing of its Old Ancestor, Ye Xun. The clan's internal branches are notably cooperative: its siblings are described as maintaining good relations without struggles for power or profit. 1
Before his death, Ye Xun was a peak Dou Zong and a Seventh Grade Peak Alchemist, but old injuries had damaged his foundation. His greatest regret was that he would not live to see the Ye Family restore its former glory. 1 His death removed the clan's strongest deterrent, prompting the Bai and Qiu Clans to test the family's weakened position during the funeral rites. 11
The family suffered a further blow when the Yang Fire Ancient Altar's Earth Eye went dark. The altar enhanced the inherited Heavenly Sun Profound Fire Art and was required for refining the Ye Family's secret pill series; its failure halted a major source of cultivation support for the clan. 18 20
Ye Chen became the family's central hope from childhood. His alchemy talent, public victory over the Bai Clan's pill formula, and later entry into the Pill Tower as a Core Disciple progressively restored the Ye Family's reputation and attracted retainers back to its service. 14 15 162 After Ye Chen recovered the Earth Core Pearl, the Yang Fire Ancient Altar resumed functioning, further stabilizing the clan's foundation. 274
By the time of the later Five Great Clans Assessment, the family no longer depended solely on Ye Chen's reputation: Ye Xinlan advanced to Seventh Grade Alchemist and placed third among the participating clan talents. 350 359 The family subsequently expanded its influence beyond the Pill Domain, supporting the Han Family and several sects in the Central State Northern Region. 536

Abilities & Resources
Alchemy Heritage
The Ye Family is an ancient alchemist clan whose founding ancestor was an Eighth Grade Alchemist. Its inherited knowledge includes secret pill formulas and records on soul cultivation, though some deeper inheritance was lost or remained unclear after Ye Xun's death. 15 159
- Possesses secret pill formulas restricted to the direct line, including pills supporting breakthroughs toward Dou Zong. 15
- Maintains a large Pill Chamber with assessment cauldrons for testing clan members' alchemical aptitude. 4
- Operates a Sacred Pill City residence known as the Ye Courtyard. 78
- Later produces multiple Seventh Grade Alchemists, though its demand for Seventh Grade pills places considerable pressure on the elders. 173 340
Yang Fire Ancient Altar
The Yang Fire Ancient Altar is a core inheritance site and one of the clan's most strategically important assets. 18
- Its Yang Fire raises the effectiveness of the Heavenly Sun Profound Fire Art from Earth Tier Low-Level toward Earth Tier High-Level. 18
- Required for refining the Ye Family's inherited strengthening-pill series. 18
- Its Yang Fire is effective against certain poisons, allowing Song Chun'er to suppress poisonous gas during Xiao Yi Xian's crisis. 162
- The altar's fire output is limited: it gathers sunlight and ignites it through Earth Fire Power, so it cannot rapidly provide the energy needed for a Dou Zun breakthrough. 227
- It ceased functioning when its Earth Eye lost its flame, but returned to normal after Ye Chen removed the Earth Core Pearl. 20 274
Retainers and External Strength
The family supplements its alchemical foundation with retainers, guards, and allied experts.
- Venerable Council — Rebuilt after Ye Chen's Core Disciple appointment; it initially regained an Eight-Star Dou Zong-level expert. 162
- Qin Yan — Black Fire Sect Master who agrees to guard the Ye Family for five years in exchange for Ye Chen's help attaining Dou Venerate. 227
- Golden Cauldron Venerable — A major Dou Zun-level retainer and the strongest listed protector of the family in the later period. 312
- Heavenly Flame Honored One — A Dou Zun-level protector with a ten-year agreement to serve the family. 312
- Hu Tian and the Three Yao Brothers — Trusted guards assigned to protect Ye Xinyue and later integrated into the family's forces. 181 287
Relationships
- Pill Tower — Longstanding institutional connection; Ye Xun was once a Pill Tower elder, and Ye Chen's Core Disciple status transforms the Ye Family's public standing. 11 162
- Dan Family — Allied through Dan Xuan's friendship with Ye Chen; sends support during the Ice River Valley conflict. 212 217
- Cao Family — A fellow Five Great Clan that supports the Ye Family against Ice River Valley despite their competitive relationship. 212 217
- Bai Clan — Rival clan that begins probing and undermining the Ye Family after Ye Xun's death. 11 137
- Qiu Clan — Rival clan that likewise pressures the family during its decline and later competes with it in clan assessments. 11 350
- Black Fire Sect — Initially hostile after a conflict involving Ye Zhong; later becomes associated with the family through Qin Yan's service agreement. 133 227
- Ice River Valley — Antagonist faction that attempts to force the family to surrender Xiao Yi Xian because of her Poisonous Body of Calamity. 207 213
- Han Family — Supported by the Ye Family and elevated into the leading power of Central State's Northern Region. 536
