After leaving the Demon Slayer Corps Headquarters.
Relying on the memories left from her previous trip with the Hidden Team, Teiichi Yi skillfully navigated the city's network and eventually arrived at the nearest train station.
The train station was bustling with noise, and all sorts of travelers were hurrying around.
Teiichi quickly bought a train ticket to Kumamoto City at the ticket window, and then, through the bustling crowd, boarded the train that was about to depart.
"Waaah--"
With a long and powerful whistle, the black steel dragon slowly started moving.
Inside the carriage, Teiichi found a window seat and sat down, gazing at the scenery rushing past outside, feeling unusually calm. Listening to the clattering of the train the whole way, Teiichi finally arrived in Kumamoto City the next day.
As the train pulled into the station, Teiichi followed the flow of people off the train.
As soon as Teiichi the train, I couldn't help but stretch.
"Whoa--whoosh--"
As his body stretched, "crackling" sounds came from all parts of his body, Teiichi couldn't help but let out a long breath.
"Taking the train these days is a real ordeal, especially long-distance trains!"
To be honest, this train isn't even Teiichi fixed-route vehicle.
If it weren't for the long distance, Teiichi wouldn't bother taking the train.
After all, trains are made of iron, but Teiichi is not.
It was exactly noon when I came out of the train station.
Teiichi found a small, clean-looking restaurant near the train station and had a simple lunch there.
Then, following the direction home, they walked to the nearest market.
I'm planning to bring some groceries back with me.
After all, the place I live in is in the middle of nowhere.
If we don't bring some groceries back with us on the way.
Tonight, we'll have to figure out how to get some wild game to take back with us.
This was certainly not a big deal for Teiichi had lived in the mountains since he transmigrated there.
But Teiichi had been on the train all day, said he didn't want to hunt today.
We soon arrived at the familiar market.
Since becoming Teiichi pillar, Teiichi has been staying in Kumamoto City for more than half a year, and this market is where Teiichi comes most often.
After all, they only live in a slightly remote area, not entirely in the mountains.
It would be nice to be able to buy some other things at the market to spice up life.
Most importantly...
If you don't spend it, what's the point of getting the money from the Demon Slayer Corps every month?
After weaving through the bustling crowd, Teiichi arrived at the familiar butcher shop.
The butcher was a slightly overweight, always smiling middle-aged man who was currently cutting up a large piece of meat.
"Uncle Sekiya!"
Teiichi greeted the butcher.
When Sekiya heard someone call his name, he looked up and carefully examined the person's face for a while before exclaiming in surprise:
"Hey! Isn't this Kato- kun? You're wearing such a nice haori, I didn't recognize you at first!"
Teiichi chuckled softly, offering no further explanation of the origin of the haori, and simply said, "Bring me a beef leg and ten pounds of steak."
"Alright, no problem!" Uncle Sekiya readily agreed, deftly selecting the finest beef while chatting with Teiichi, " Kato, it's been so many days since we last saw each other, where have you been making your fortune?"
"I went to Honshu Island to take care of some things," Teiichi replied simply, without revealing much about his whereabouts.
"Oh, that's a big place, not close to here! Are you going there to do business?" Uncle Sekiya asked curiously.
Teiichi smiled but didn't speak, neither admitting nor denying.
Seeing that Teiichi was unwilling to say more, Sekiya's eyes darted around, and he changed to a more relatable topic. "Judging from your age, you're not getting any younger. Has your family been arranging blind dates for you? After all, it's only natural for a man to marry when he's of age, and for a woman to marry when she's of age."
Teiichi glanced at Sekiya, smiled, and remained silent.
Boss Sekiya wasn't embarrassed at all and continued, "It's better for people to get married early! You're still young, so you don't know the benefits of marriage. Listen to your uncle, you can't go wrong!"
Boss Sekiya handed over the already packaged meat, then looked around. Seeing that no one was paying attention, he leaned closer to Teiichi and whispered:
"Some things are better left unsaid. Just trust your uncle, and get married soon."
You'll be so happy you won't want to leave!
It just so happens that my house...
" Sekiya, what are you doing! Instead of selling meat properly, why are you chatting with people like this!"
A sudden shout from a woman interrupted him, " Sekiya, what are you doing! Why aren't you selling meat properly? What are you doing chatting with people like this!"
As the voice faded, the curtain behind the butcher shop was lifted, and a woman with a serious face and a slightly plump figure walked out. She was Sekiya Gu's wife and the owner of the butcher shop.
Sekiya saw his wife come out, he immediately stood up straight and said, "What do you know? I'm doing serious business!"
"Serious business? So chatting with people is considered serious business here?"
"No, I'm really not just chatting this time. And even if I were chatting with a client, it wouldn't be called chatting; it's called maintaining customer relationships, you know that!"
The proprietress clearly wasn't having it, and continued berating, "Maintaining customer relations? I think you're just wasting your time! Get back to work!"
Seeing that the couple seemed about to start arguing, Teiichi picked up the meat he had bought and headed towards the vegetable stall in the distance.
After seeing Teiichi leave, the boss of Sekiya behind him began to explain to his wife.
"I'm not just chatting this time. Keiko is of marriageable age, you know! I'm trying to introduce Keiko to someone!"
Hearing Sekiya Guan's words, the proprietress looked at Teiichi, who was walking away, and said with some doubt, "If you're going to find someone, find them a good family! Our Keiko is still young, there's no rush!"
Boss Sekiya said, "Of course I know I need to find Keiko a good husband. This child comes from a wealthy family! What, do you think I would harm Keiko?"
"Really?"
"Of course it's true!"
This child always buys a huge amount of meat whenever he comes; he must come from a wealthy family.
We have many helpers at home; otherwise, who would buy so much meat at once!
Meat doesn't keep well in this weather, it's impossible that he ate it all by himself!
"Are you out of your mind?! What wealthy family's child goes out to buy groceries by themselves?! If anyone's going to buy groceries, it's the helpers who do it!"
"That makes sense!"
But look at this guy's face, he's not the kind of person our humble family could afford to raise!
Trust me, you won't go wrong. It's a pity you ruined everything today!
Otherwise, I'd at least have him watch the shop for me, and then I'll go home and bring Keiko over so they can meet her!
"That seems true. In that case, next time..."
The Sekiya couple behind them were still discussing things.
Unfortunately, what they didn't know was that their voices had already reached Teiichi's ears, even though they thought he couldn't hear them.
Listening to the butcher and his wife's plan in the distance, Teiichi picked up the vegetables he had bought and quickly walked out of the market.
It seems like we might have to try a different market next time...
