After the battle, part 1
Bai Mo was taken away, and Shi stood there blankly. Tezcatlipoca sensed that something was wrong with her; she saw that her hands were trembling and shaking.
A sharp pain shot through her heart. Why, even her last moments had to be taken away? Why couldn't she even have a peaceful death? Tears streamed down her face. She touched her warm tears, then flew into the air, the whole world before her eyes.
She could already feel emotions, and the future was full of unknowns; this heart gave her a second life.
"But what use are these to me! You're not by my side, what's the point of having this heart, what's the point!" Shi could no longer control herself, and she fell into the sea while tears streamed down her face.
Feeling the deep, tranquil Dahai, I hugged myself tightly; it was cold, so cold.
If Shi was initially interested in Bai Mo, now he has become the most special and irreplaceable person in her heart. But this person has left her, perhaps forever.
Even if there are unexpected encounters in the future, nothing can make her feel the warmth of his heart, and no one can replace him in her heart.
I want to die, but I can't, because that would make everything he did for nothing. I want to savor this second life, to experience all the beauty in this world...
Looking at the polluted ocean, Shi gently raised his hand.
Gradually, the Dahai regained its life and clarity, and fish surrounded Shiki. Although these creatures lacked the intelligence to understand Shiki's actions, their souls could sense the kindness of the person before them.
Regardless of their natural enemies, they roamed with Shiki, and Shiki sensed their goodwill.
"Warm kindness, is this what you wanted me to feel? It turns out I've been missing out on something so precious all this time." Shi murmured softly, her heart aching even more. The fish gently nuzzled against her, as if trying to comfort her sorrow.
Mifune City--
Mikiya Kokutou came to the hospital. Just Shiki Ryougi was in a car accident, and he brought a bouquet of flowers to visit her.
"Mr. Kokutou?"
"Ah, it's me."
The doctor approached him, smiling, and said, "Miss Ryougi has fully recovered and seems to be doing quite well. Would you like to go see her?"
"Really?"
Mikiya was overjoyed. When he arrived at the room, the long-haired beauty was looking out the window. Hearing his arrival, she smiled and waved to him.
"Shi, you're healed so quickly?" This was incredibly fast; he couldn't believe it. Could a car accident really be treated so quickly?
"Mikiya, thank you for your hard work. Did you even buy flowers?" Somewhat unexpectedly, Shiki Ryougi spoke to Mikiya in a more masculine tone and even extended her hand to greet him.
"Weave?"
"That's right, it's me. Phew, it feels like so much time has passed."
Mikiya chuckled and placed the flowers in the vase, Kanya remarked, "It's only been two days! Are the doctors at this hospital really that skilled? He recovered so quickly from a car accident!"
Zhi seemed a little melancholy, looking out the window and murmuring, "Yes, I'm lucky to have met a good doctor."
"Really? Then you must thank him properly."
Zhi smiled, looking at Mikiya's ordinary yet joyful smile, pinched his cheek, and said, "Perhaps, the smile of an ordinary person like you is the best way to thank him."
Outside the window, the figure of a long-haired woman in a kimono flashed by. Zhi waved, seemingly saying goodbye.
Inside the Garan no Dou, Shiki Ryougi, with her short hair, was helping Touko pack her things. Shiki Ryougi sighed deeply and said, "Are we really going to move all this junk? I feel like all my work is completely pointless."
Touko laughed and said, "There's nothing I can do about it. Who told you to give up your previous life? Now you're not the young lady of the Ryougi Family anymore, you're my employee."
Upon hearing this, Shiki Ryougi immediately lay down on the sofa and complained, "What can I do? After something like that happened, they expect me to forget it? Forget it, amnesia only needs to happen once, and besides..."
Shiki Ryougi paused, looking at the statue of the War God Ke Bao beside her, seemingly lost in memories.
Touko sighed inwardly, thinking: Is it because she has seen such a perfect moon that she can no longer tolerate a crescent moon?
The Root Shiki reshaped the entire world, resurrecting all the dead. Almost everyone lost their memories of that time, and apart from a few Magecraft and others who participated in the battle, everyone lived ordinary lives as usual.
After that, the Root Shiki approached Ryougi Shiki and gave her two Shiki Ryougi: one was to choose to forget, in which case time would return to the second day of her hospitalization, when her body would have no connection with the Root, and Araya Souren would not have been resurrected. With only the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, no one would be foolish enough to seek revenge on her.
Shiki Ryougi chose the second option without hesitation, and she still can't forget that day.
The Root Shiki stared at him meaningfully, then said, "Alright, then I'll cut out that part of my soul from before. Anyway, the current Shiki is practically a new soul."
"Soul cutting?"
"Yes, just like cutting an earthworm in half makes two earthworms." Root Shiki said with a charming smile, but the smile carried a chill.
Looking back now, Shiki Ryougi still feels a pang of unease. Shiki has no memory of meeting Bai Mo in the hospital, and those past memories feel utterly foreign to her. But that's alright, the future is always something to look forward to.
But am I some kind of earthworm? I was clearly the original personality, so what's with this infuriating character trait?
A moment later, Caren arrived, carrying a suitcase. Seeing this, Touko said, "Hey, Caren- chan, want to come with us?"
Caren took out a contract and placed it on Touko's table.
"Of course, but I have a condition: I hope you can teach me as your disciple. Don't worry about the tuition."
Touko didn't speak, but her expression said: Why?
Caren lowered her head and said slowly, "Perhaps I will meet him again in the future. When that time comes, I'll at least be able to help him in some way."
"Then you have to be an adult first, little girl," Shiki Ryougi said, and sparks seemed to fly when their eyes met.
Touko immediately beamed and said, "Great! This sounds like a lot of fun. From now on, you're my disciple, Touko! Good disciple, come and help me move this."
Caren didn't say anything, but clapped her hands, and many people came in and started moving Touko's things out, box by box. Only then did Touko realize that Caren was a woman who didn't lack money; taking this disciple was a really good deal.
