Background / History

Life on Blue Star

Bai Mo’s family broke apart after his father’s affair and business failure. While still in middle school, he faced living with either a controlling mother or his father and the other woman; neither option allowed him to continue school. He instead chose independence, supporting himself through work while living in a small rented room 1.

His closest remaining family was Bozai, a stray cat he had adopted despite his poverty. Hong Kong comics were his main hobby. By the time the system approached him, exhaustion and isolation had left him unwilling to continue living; its offer of Electric Current Push nevertheless rekindled his interest in a future where he could support himself without starving 1 2.

Training and the Argonauts

Inside the training space, Great Saber subjected Bai Mo to prolonged blade practice before teaching him Avici Hell Blade. The training cultivated control rather than horsepower: his unfinished weapon suppressed his Magnetic Field Power while he developed Complete Realm. Before sending him away, Great Saber told him that Peerless Demon Blade required his own blade intent—a personal reason to swing 3.

In Greece, Athena directed him toward Jason, and he joined the Argo. His companions called him Bai Ermo and eventually became convinced that his electrical abilities and unknown origins made him a son of Zeus. This was their assumption, not his actual ancestry. Among the Argonauts, he found an unfamiliar sense of happiness and home 6 8 12 13.

He fought giants alongside Heracles, battled the venomous dragon, and became involved in Medea’s fate. Returning to Thessaly, he witnessed the consequences of Pelias’s exploitation and killed the king after discovering a poor woman’s child had died. The act left him troubled by how little killing alone had changed, and he urged Jason to govern his future subjects well 11 23 24 38.

His Greek journey ended with his departure toward twenty-first-century Fuyuki. He regretted leaving promises unfulfilled, including those involving Atalanta, Circe, and Heracles, but refused to abandon the future over irreversible events 45.

Fuyuki and the System’s Betrayal

Following further training with Oga, Bai Mo encountered the participants in Fuyuki’s Holy Grail War. He studied Diarmuid’s techniques during their duel and developed a friendship with Artoria, who regarded him as someone who understood her 48 52 53 68.

He later treated Kirie Fujou and regularly visited Shiki Ryougi during her recovery. When Giant Shark possessed Shiki, Bai Mo recognized that the intruding soul came from outside the world and lacked the death lines her Mystic Eyes normally targeted 92.

Bai Mo and Shiki ultimately defeated Giant Shark through shared perception. The system then revealed its intention to rewrite the world and kill its inhabitants. Refusing cooperation, Bai Mo used Magnetic Field Heavenly Lock on his own body before the system could exploit it, leaving its new occupant powerless 108.

Although stripped of Magnetic Field Power afterward, he retained Complete Realm and learned to manipulate magical energy. His eventual release from his perceived debt to the system allowed an older wish to resurface: correcting a world in which kind people suffered while abusers prospered 115 122.

Arcueid and the Moon

Bai Mo’s relationship with Arcueid drew him into conflict with Crimson Moon. On the moon, he abandoned a steadier approach when he sensed Arcueid weakening and used Asura Reincarnation to protect her. His second strike shattered the Real of the World and destroyed most of the moon, leaving a crescent 182.

He subsequently risked his body again while channeling power approaching 800,000 horsepower away from Arcueid. Asura regeneration sustained him while he simultaneously reconstructed her body into a vessel capable of bearing the power 187.

Uruk and the Sea of Imaginary Numbers

In Uruk, Bai Mo defended the city against demonic beasts while demonstrating power-control techniques to Arcueid and Ishtar. Although involved in state affairs, he deliberately avoided Gilgamesh’s throne because he did not want to undermine the city’s stability 205 210.

He later entered the Sea of Imaginary Numbers with Manaka, fought a Lahmu settlement, and confronted the Thirteenth Grand Protector. Against Enlil and the Protector together, he manipulated their attacks into striking one another before destroying the Protector’s body with Zen-shaking Samsara 244 271.

Physician and Teacher

During his stay in Kaizu Castle, Bai Mo treated ordinary people without charging them and sheltered injured child ninja. He refused to become a military physician whose work would simply return soldiers to killing, recognizing that medicine alone could not cure the era’s problems 308 310.

He encouraged Mochizuki Mo to study, use her knowledge, and pass it onward. When she sought help against her clan’s elders, he refused to give her power for a suicidal killing spree 331 346.

Preserving the Lostbelts

Bai Mo worked alongside Chaldea while seeking alternatives to the destruction of Lostbelt populations. In Russia, he endured the Fantasy Tree’s energy at near-fatal cost and later helped Anastasia consider temporary policies for stabilizing the nation rather than making her a permanent ruler 401 402 404.

In Scandinavia, he investigated Helheim, narrowly escaped a trap with Ortlinde’s help, and transferred the damaged Fantasy Tree’s power while the freed Aesir protected him. The Scandinavian Lostbelt survived its expected pruning 442 486 488.

His Indian journey included teaching Karna, exchanging skills with Rama with the Axe, and fighting Shiva during Kama’s trial. His experience with India’s gods also led him to accept divine participation under conditions, distinguishing them from the Greek gods he opposed 646 707 754.

Britain and Cernunnos

Despite the strain of successive battles, Bai Mo continued training before entering the next Lostbelt because Morgan could not wait. In Britain, he used his developed rune knowledge and Enki’s purification authority to produce curse-cleansing water 760 767.

He obtained fairy-soul analysis spells from Abigail and passed them to Morgan to help prepare an antidote for Baobhan Sith. Later, Morgan opened Cernunnos’s skull with her Holy Lance so Bai Mo could enter, suppress regeneration, and investigate the curses within 794 843.

Appearance

• Softer build and features: Masculine by modern standards, but comparatively delicate beside the rugged figures of Age of Gods Greece 31.

Personality

Bai Mo is guarded, self-critical, and intensely persistent. Early failures repeatedly tempt him to give up, but he returns to training and seeks alternative methods when horsepower alone will not advance. His tendency to compare himself with legendary Magnetic Field powerhouses makes him underestimate his own accomplishments 3 11 27.

He values personal autonomy more than supremacy. He rejects the idea that gods or rulers should dictate human lives, dislikes reflexive kneeling, and tells the people he saves that he does not need their allegiance. Despite his pursuit of strength, domination is not his goal 76 331 402.

His compassion has boundaries. He is reluctant to take human lives casually, even when that restraint endangers him, but he will kill tyrants and dangerous enemies. His medical work likewise prioritizes civilians rather than indiscriminately serving anyone who might perpetuate a war 31 38 310.

Responsibility becomes his central reason to survive. He names his master, companions, and Arcueid among the people he cannot abandon. That same sense of duty can make him overwork and overlook those supporting him—a failing he later condemns in himself 412 596 760.

Though usually restrained, he genuinely enjoys demanding combat. Intelligent opponents excite him because they offer opportunities to test his skill and improve; this enthusiasm does not erase his judgment about the danger they pose to others 23 78.

Bai Mo combines raw Magnetic Field Power with unusually refined control over its application 23 52.
