Not waking
Behind the Maya pyramids of Eridu, the Jaguar Man was binding heavy ropes to Marduk's mountain-sized hand axe. Wiping the sweat from his brow, the Jaguar Man complained with a headache:
"Sigh, in the end I still have to do logistics work. Mikiya, is there really any point in it?"
Marduk's hand axe, as the weapon of the Sumer War God, posed a powerful threat to any god, and could even kill a deity outright.
However, this thing only works when it hits a deity. As it stands, unless Enlil or Tiamat willingly stick their heads out without offering any resistance, this hand axe will not be able to injure them.
Then, let them spend a few seconds on Cellular Regeneration.
"This power is so unreasonable, meow! How are we, the unreasonable ones, supposed to bear this?"
"After all, it's a power that doesn't belong to this world at all. Once it's given time to develop, it will naturally become uncontrollable. Fortunately, Bai Mo arrived in time, otherwise I really wouldn't know what to do."
Mery appeared beside the Jaguar Man at some point, carrying a basket of sandwiches.
"Oh, offerings? That's wonderful, it's been so long since anyone has made any offerings!"
As she spoke, the Jaguar Man took the sandwich without hesitation and started eating. Compared to others, Mery seemed to be more adept at dealing with goddesses like this.
"It tastes really good, you can feel the love put into it, yes, it feels like sneaking a bite of birthday cake before someone else's birthday party... the only problem is the bacon is a little burnt."
"After all, it was made by Manaka. I took it from her since she didn't want it."
Mery also took out a piece, ignoring the Jaguar Man's apocalyptic expression, and began to savor it.
"It's all over, meow..."
As he said this, the Jaguar Man chewed much faster. Since he had already become an accomplice, he might as well eat his fill first.
Mery glanced at the Gorgon below. Logically, if someone went to the Imaginary Number Space, they should be back within a second, but half an hour had already passed.
After finishing my sandwich, I looked back and saw that my basket was empty.
"They've probably seen Enlil or Tiamat over there. Maybe Bai Mo will just take care of Enlil there, and our job will be done."
"Mery said somewhat optimistically, but the Jaguar Man beside her shook his head."
"Did I say something wrong?" Mery asked, turning her head.
"I don't know how to put it. Tiamat, if Bai Mo and earth would probably collapse. After all, she is the Primordial Mother Goddess, while Bai Mo is a complete outsider."
If a real battle were to occur, Tiamat would probably fight to the death, which would be terrifying, meow. The final outcome might be the moon crashing down and killing us all.
Upon hearing the Jaguar Man's words, Mery's eyes flickered slightly, her gaze fixed on the distance, as if staring at something far away.
"Perhaps the story will take a turn, after all, outsiders are not necessarily enemies. Perhaps for Tiamat, an outsider who is not her child will show her kindness in a completely different way."
Then they could turn enemies into friends... such an outcome isn't impossible.
Upon hearing Mery's words, the Jaguar Man let out a cold laugh.
"Her own children abandoned her and might even take advantage of her; yet a stranger treats her with kindness?"
That's really cruel for a mother, meow.
In the abyss of the Sea of Imaginary Numbers, in Tiamat's prison, Bai Mo felt as if his consciousness were a diver slowly sinking into the unfathomable darkness.
Suddenly, the surroundings changed, and he was like a fisherman exploring a paradise, who, after passing through a dark passage, found himself in a bright and open space.
The surrounding area is a city, and upon closer inspection, it seems no different from the urban area of Uruk.
"This is Tiamat's spiritual world. How strange, the Primordial Mother Goddess would have such a dream." Manaka's voice came from behind. Manaka walked to Bai Mo's side and stood beside him.
The moment she saw Bai Mo, she suddenly let out a piercing scream, as if she had seen something terrifying.
"What... happened to you?"
Following Manaka's gaze, Bai Mo looked at his own body. He was currently in the form of consciousness or soul, while his physical body was still inside Tiamat.
This was the first time he had ever seen directly the wound in his soul that Bai Wunan had been talking about, the one that had been troubling him.
He couldn't feel his left arm at all; the left side of his body felt like it had been bitten in half by a shark; nearly a third of his thigh was gone; and a large chunk of his torso was missing.
He looked like a broken statue unearthed from ruins, making one wonder if half of his body had been blasted apart by a cannon.
Upon closer inspection, there is an extremely thin film of light on it, as if it would evaporate and disappear without a trace at any moment, like a drop of water under the scorching sun.
On Bai Mo's fingers, a faint thread was wrapped around them, as if it might disappear at any moment.
"Looking at it this way, it really is quite serious."
Bai Mo's voice remained calm, while Manaka on the other end sounded so anxious she seemed about to cry.
"How could this happen? The damage to the soul has reached this level." She grabbed Bai Mo's right hand, her eyes filled with worry.
"Stop worrying about Uruk. After we get out of here, come with me. I'll find a way to help you. If you keep going like this, your soul might just dissipate if you die!"
He won't completely dissipate; his Primordial Spirit is immortal. However, once he dies, it will take a very long time to repair. Manaka has no power, which is why she says that.
Bai Mo looked at Manaka in front of him. Perhaps this girl's thinking was far removed from ordinary people, but at least this concern was definitely not insincere.
But precisely because of this, Bai Mo needs to keep his distance from her.
"No need, thank you for your concern, but I'm trying to figure out how to save myself."
His tone was gentle, but Bai Mo still withdrew his hand.
Just as the two were talking, they felt a thud behind them, as if someone had fallen. They turned around and saw a figure in light blue falling backward.
She had long, silky hair that cascaded to the ground like a veil. Her figure was the epitome of a mature woman, but she had a pair of enormous beast horns on her head, shaped like butterfly wings.
He was carrying a huge basket, so big that he had to carry it. It was filled with all sorts of fruits, vegetables, fish, and meat.
Bai Mo reacted quickly and caught the basket, preventing the ingredients inside from flying out.
Then he could only watch helplessly as the woman in front of him fell down; there was nothing he could do, after all, he only had one hand.
"I'm sorry, I bumped into you. There were too many things and I couldn't see anything..." The woman opened her eyes, then her eyes widened suddenly as she stared intently at Bai Mo.
Bai Mo was puzzled. Was he some kind of monster?
"Um... did I hit you and cause this? I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry. I'm in a hurry to get back and cook for my child. Please let me treat you; my home is nearby."
"No need, I'm not..."
But the woman in front of him completely ignored Bai Mo's explanation, grabbed his hand that was holding the vegetable basket, and ran wildly down the main road with him and the basket.
Her other hand wasn't idle either; she grabbed Manaka, and Manaka and Bai Mo were seen being dragged up into the air along the road.
The two men stared at each other, their gazes carrying an eerie quality, as if exchanging a secret.
What's going on?
I don't know...
