The Evil Dragon
One side was the oldest and most powerful giant, while the other relied on the formidable life force of the Asura Way. The two gritted their teeth, preparing to utterly annihilate their opponent.
Everyone held their breath, watching this world-deciding battle. Except for two people.
"How could this happen? Who is it?"
"Damn it, how could the celestial phenomena be like this?"
Landao Tianwu had already been torn apart by the Electric Eye, and both of their gazes were fixed on the battle that had just taken place. At the same time, the dark clouds that had been obscuring the sky finally dissipated, and the Starry Night appeared before their eyes without any obstruction.
Both Electric Eye and Landao Tianwu's eyes trembled uncontrollably. In the sky above, the jinx that was Surtr was somewhat dim, while the ominous star that had been in its side was now high above it, shining with dazzling light.
"Seriously..."
A deep roar echoed between heaven and earth. In an instant, the Helheim Gate behind Dongni vanished, not because it was closed, but because he witnessed the collapse and destruction of the entire Helheim.
Something's coming!
Everyone broke out in a cold sweat. The Daichi cracked, the whole world trembled, and everyone sensed that something was rushing upwards from underground.
A beam of emerald green light burst forth, tearing the Daichi apart as if it were about to knock the stars from the sky. Within that boundless energy, a figure even taller than the thousand-meter-tall Surtr appeared.
It was not the figure of a human, but a dragon, a giant dragon.
As the figure appeared, the Fafnir people of Northern Europe cheered and flew in from afar. Dark clouds spread again, obscuring the sky once more, as if all beings under the heavens were nothing more than prisoners in a jail.
Now, the outdoor exercise time is over.
In Chaldea, the pointers of various instruments spun like a fan, leaving afterimages; the energy threshold meter had just completely lost its function. Like firework debris, it landed all over an employee's head.
Olga Marie and Goredolf were both dumbfounded, staring in disbelief at the scene.
"W-what did you do?"
"Technical advisor—no, Sherlock Holmes, stop with that 'I knew it' look on your face! What happened?!"
Olga Marie decisively asked the historically renowned detective, Sherlock Holmes, seeing this, took a puff of his pipe and replied:
"Okay, Lady, actually, when we first arrived in Northern Europe, we were basically told that there was a mastermind behind this Scandinavian Lostbelt. However, our judgment was influenced by Fafnir's tail sword, but it's basically certain."
"If you keep keeping me in suspense, I'll put up 'No Smoking' signs in every room of Chaldea, including the toilets!"
Olga Marie threatened, clearly furious that Sherlock Holmes had guessed their opponent from the beginning but hadn't revealed it. Sherlock Holmes, however, could only shrug helplessly.
"Please forgive my silence, madam, but whenever I wanted to reveal what was behind it, a strange emotion would affect me. Compared to exposing Mr. Bai Mo's secret, I feel there's no need to unravel this not-so-difficult mystery."
And Mr. Bai Mo had already guessed that, right?"
Sherlock Holmes was very polite, but his "not difficult" statement and gentle smile made Olga Marie feel like her intelligence was being mocked.
Meanwhile, Goredolf, standing to the side, was also somewhat exasperated, saying:
"Is that so? That's good news. But anyway, give us a hint so we can prepare. By the way, what do you mean by being able to guess who's behind this from the very beginning when we arrived in Northern Europe?"
"Does Goredolf remember the Fafnir he first encountered? Only by accumulating a certain amount of sin can life be transformed into Fafnir, and turning a person into a dragon is no simple task."
The biggest question has emerged: what kind of crime could have given rise to so many Fafnir? In the entire Northern Europe mythology, the only one that comes to mind is the group of snakes that gnawed on the World Tree.
Only through such world-destroying sins could he be transformed into Fafnir.
Hearing Sherlock Holmes ' words, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. Sherlock Holmes ' smile remained, but this time it carried a hint of bitterness.
"Ragnarok has disappeared in Northern Europe mythology, but in the myths, Ragnarok is not about destroying everything and returning everything to nothingness. Odin's two children, Thor's two children, Baldr and Hodr, and two humans, a man and a woman, are also included."
There is another factor, the cause of everything, the greatest factor that makes Ragnarok irreversible.
From the emerald green energy, a giant dragon as black as ink slowly flew out. Its wings were as deep as the night, making people feel lost at first glance. Its scales were as shiny as the finest jade.
Every step he took made all living beings tremble; even the valiant Valkyrie could hardly lift their weapons. Gullfaxi roared, and even this fearless steed involuntarily took several steps back.
The dragon landed atop the highest peak of Jotunheim, and even from a great distance, its presence was visible to all. It was impossible not to pay attention to it; its power was beyond comprehension.
Sherlock Holmes slowly exhaled, his face grave.
"Its name is Nidhogg, the evil dragon that gnaws at the World Tree, the countdown to Ragnarok, and one of the most evil beings in Northern Europe mythology."
However, it seems that the "one of" can be removed.
