Sheffield
The separation in the sky clearly scattered everyone to different places. Ritsuka and the others landed in the Nameless Forest, but two of them, after inhaling the mist of the Nameless Forest, did not go to the Nameless Village, but instead walked into the distance.
Subsequently, the girl encountered three fairies. When they met Mors, who appeared out of nowhere, the three fairies immediately believed that this person was the legendary Child of Prophecy who would save Britain.
So they took the Child of Prophecy to the nearest castle, Sheffield, to meet Lord Boggart.
However...
"Oh, the Child of Prophecy? Are you three playing me, or are you just trying to make me laugh?"
The lord glanced at the three goblins below, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes. He stood up, the White Lion's mane seemingly about to float, as if he were about to devour them at any moment.
The three fairies trembled with fear, and just then, the one they believed to be the Child of Prophecy stepped forward. The armored female knight glared angrily and slammed her shield, which was taller than her, to the ground.
Their imposing presence put pressure on everyone present.
"Hmph, it does seem plausible. Hey, human girl, do you really consider yourself the Child of Prophecy?"
Mash paused, unsure for a moment, since she only knew about the Child of Prophecy from the three fairies behind her.
But she remained undeterred and declared loudly, "I believe I am."
"What nonsense! The Child of Prophecy is a fairy, not a human. Do you think you're a fairy?"
Boggart scoffed, leaving everyone stunned by the question. Then, the lord waved his hand and said coldly, "Deceiving the lord is punishable by death according to the law. Take these four ignorant liars away and behead them."
Upon hearing Boggart's words, the surrounding guards immediately drew their swords, their blades gleaming with a cold light, and walked step by step toward Mash and the others. The clanging of their armor against the palace walls sounded like an execution order.
Seeing Mash gripped her shield tighter and frowned at the group, saying:
"Well, I'm not entirely sure what happened either, but if you all continue to be so aggressive, I won't hold back."
No one paid attention to her words, but the three fairies behind her said worriedly, "Mash, don't worry about us, escape on your own."
"No..."
The next moment, she grabbed her shield and slammed it down. The table-sized object struck a guard squarely, causing Mash's body to emit a faint glow. She shouted sharply:
"Didn't I tell you not to be so aggressive? Although I don't know if I am the Child of Prophecy, since I have received their help along the way, then at the very least I am the Child of Prophecy in their hearts."
"Besides, we can just cancel the business deal; I didn't take any money from you anyway. Why are you forcing me to hurt you?!"
The next instant, the girl grabbed her shield and dealt with the guards as if they were mere vegetables, or even worse. Several of the closest guards were blasted into the wall, blood spilling from their helmets.
Boggart was clearly caught off guard by this, and as Mash raised her shield to smash the lion's head, he immediately shouted, "Wait!"
The shield stopped ten centimeters from her forehead. Boggart quickly called to his men, "I've changed my mind. The money's yours, as for you..."
He stood up, extended a hand to Mash, and said, "You... be my son."
Some time later... in a room called a tailor shop but actually an armory, a short, fairy-like tailor was sullenly sewing armor, looking as if everyone owed her money.
"Hey, Habetynyan, gotta get some work done."
Upon hearing the words of the approaching fairy, the small fairy known as Habetrot's forehead bulged with veins. She said somewhat frantically, "What kind of work is this? Sewing armor again? I'm a fairy who makes wedding dresses for brides, not armor for soldiers! Tell Boggart, if he does this again..."
Before she could finish speaking, Habetrot saw the pink figure. She looked at Mash with delight, scrutinizing her from head to toe, and said with a hint of joy:
"Great... Great! Ah, hello, I'm Habetrot, just call me Habetynyan. I didn't expect to meet you here... After waiting so long, it's finally paid off."
Don't worry, you need a dress, right? We guarantee you'll become the most beautiful bride in the world.
Habetrot's tone was filled with joy and delight. Upon hearing this, the soldier beside her looked embarrassed and said in a low voice, "Um, Habetrot, the lord means for you to dress her up as a man."
Upon hearing this, the tailor shop fell silent instantly, as if a cat had climbed onto a display shelf. The next moment, Habetynyan bared its sharp teeth at the soldier.
Suddenly, a figure flew in from outside into Boggart's lord's room, like a missile, hitting Boggart squarely on the head. Habetrot's petite and adorable body grabbed Boggart's collar and shook his head violently, as if trying to shake his brains out.
"Boggart, what do you mean? What do you mean by dressing her up as a man?! I'm the bride's partner, and you want me to dress the bride up as a man?"
Watch me skin you alive, head and all, and make you into a one-shoulder cape, you bastard!
Boggart's head was slammed against the wall by her. Mash arrived late and, seeing this, immediately tried to pull Habetrot away.
"Wait, Habetynyan, don't fight!"
"What fight? It looks like I was the one getting beaten up, my son! Why are you just watching?"
After a bit of commotion, Boggart rubbed his swollen head and said irritably, "If I had known you were this brave, I should have promoted you to general and sent you to fight Woodwose head-on."
"Stop talking nonsense, Boggart, what exactly are you up to?"
Upon hearing this, Boggart waved his hand and said, "Habetynyan, you know, right? Ever since Morgan disappeared, ambitious people in various cities have started to take action. In human terms, a country cannot be without a ruler for a day."
"I know that, but what does that have to do with you wanting to adopt Mash as your son?"
"Silly cat, have you forgotten the prophecy? Fairies and humans will join hands, and the Child of Salvation will save the world. Now Morgan has disappeared, and everyone wants to enter Camelot and sit on the throne of the Queen of Winter."
But to sit on it, there must be a reason, and the Child of Prophecy is that reason.
Habetrot seemed even angrier upon hearing this, especially when she heard the words "Child of Prophecy."
"Are you stupid? Could she be Child of Prophecy? She's not even a fairy."
"Tsk, what do you know? Instead of wasting effort searching for a Child of Prophecy, why not create Child of Prophecy?"
Hearing Boggart's words, Habetrot found them utterly absurd and incomprehensible. Boggart then launched into a long, Habetrot speech:
"Actually, it's not just Sheffield. In places like Salisbury and Norwich, where clans are based, they have all supported their own Child of Prophecy to varying degrees. Now, just go to any tavern and give a bard a Morgan Pound, and he can make up a story about a Child of Prophecy for you."
Furthermore, it's not difficult for humans to disguise themselves as fairies; they can even fake their scent.
"This is terrible... When did the Child of Prophecy become such a worthless thing?"
Habetynyan looked helpless, then continued, "If you're going to Child of Prophecy, why is Mash your son?"
"Are you stupid? Child of Prophecy, son!"
"Just because of that? How can you be so sure the Child of Prophecy is a man? We're not going to do something so absurd! Mash is the bride we're protecting!"
"To ask a girl to be your bride the first time you see her? That's ridiculous, you idiot! Anyway, get me dressed right now. Norwich is about to suffer Calamity, and that's the perfect time for her to show her skills!"
Dye this woman's pink hair white, just like mine, and change her armor to a darker purple heavy armor. Our Sheffield knight, the Child of Prophecy, is about to go to war!
