An Investigation Commission
In a hotel near the Garan no Dou, Caren was packing her luggage. After finishing, she went out, casually picking up the letter from the next room, and headed to the Garan no Dou.
"There's a letter for you; it seems to be from the hospital director."
Bai Mo took Caren's letter, Touko, who was standing nearby, asked with interest, "What? Is it a bonus? Or severance pay?"
"No, I gave all my wages from that period to a patient named Kirie Fujou. This is just a thank-you note." Hearing Bai Mo's reply, Touko helplessly slumped onto the table, saying weakly, "Ugh~ This is terrible, I was hoping to borrow some money from you."
Bai Mo burned the letter, saying somewhat helplessly, "Didn't Kiritsugu give you a deposit before? That was quite a sum, wasn't it?"
"It's all gone! I have so many treasures on my list, waiting for me to bring them home. With that deposit, and then a small loan, I can finally get my hands on those treasures I've been longing for." Touko waved her hand, somewhat helplessly, while Gan Mikiya, seemed to have been struck by lightning.
Garan no Dou, Caren and Bai Mo don't have to worry about money at all; Shiki is also a wealthy yakuza woman from the Ryougi Family. Only he still relies on Touko's monthly salary to make ends meet. But now that Touko is taking out loans to shop, how will he get his salary?
"Um, do I still have my salary?" Mikiya asked timidly, raising his hand.
"No, that's all. After all, I was planning to borrow money from you to cover my living expenses this month."
For the first time in his life, Mikiya Kokutou witnessed a boss who needed his employees' welfare to survive. He quickly got up to leave, and Shiki, standing beside him, asked, "What's wrong? Planning to skip work?"
"When our firm is unable to pay its employees' salaries, shouldn't we allow them to take on other jobs? I'm not like you; if I can't expect to get a salary this month, I'll have to find other work."
Touko readily agreed, "Of course, no problem. After all, you can't expect employees to work without pay. Could you lend me some money when you get paid from your part-time job?"
"I regret to decline."
Leaving behind these heartless words, Mikiya Kokutou and left without looking back. Touko looked hopefully at Shiki Ryougi, who waved her hand dismissively, saying, "Don't even think about it."
"How cold-blooded my employees are! Caren- chan, you're so kind, you wouldn't be like them, would you?"
"When you're about to ascend to heaven, I'll give you the most basic relief meal."
Touko lowered her head, muttering, "Ugh, the Church's relief meals are awful." She looked up, as if making a decision against her ancestors, her gaze fixed on Caren's Mystic Code, and grabbed Caren, saying, "Caren, want to come with me to earn some extra money?"
And so, Caren was half-forced out by Touko, leaving only the two of them in the room.
"This company is like this on my first day at work. I really can't see any future in it." Shiki Ryougi lay on the sofa, while Bai Mo was just about to check on the Giant Shark's condition when they heard a knock on the door.
"Huh? Business already started as soon as the boss left?"
Bai Mo looked towards the door, while Shiki Ryougi, standing beside him, looked puzzled and asked, "What's wrong? Is someone outside?"
Bai Mo pointed to the door and said, "Didn't you hear the knocking just now?"
Shiki Ryougi frowned, got up to open the door, then turned to Bai Mo and said, "What? There's no one here. Are you possessed by some evil spirit? You're even hallucinating."
Bai Mo looked out the door, rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things. There were two figures in front of him. One was Ryougi Shiki, dressed in a simple kimono with her own short hair, Shiki Ryougi had just opened the door. The other was Ryougi Shiki, who looked like she was going to a fireworks festival, with her long hair tied up and even Shiki Ryougi with a beautiful hairpin, gently waving to him.
Seeing Bai Mo's strange gaze, Shiki Ryougi peeked out the door, looked around, and frowned, saying, "There's clearly no one here, so why do you look like you've seen a ghost?"
Bai Mo sighed, got up and walked over to Shiki. This time, the long-haired Shiki Ryougi did not suddenly disappear, but waited quietly for him at the top of the stairs.
"I'm going out too. Remember to turn off the power if you're about to leave."
After leaving those words, Bai Mo also followed behind the long-haired Shiki Ryougi and left, leaving Shiki alone to face the empty office.
"This firm is doomed."
