Well, Isn't This a Coincidence?
Inside the Garan no Dou, Shiki Ryougi lay listlessly on the sofa, feeling utterly bored and listless.
Just when she was about to reach her breaking point, the doorbell rang. Shiki Ryougi buried her head in the pillow. Her colleagues would never ring the doorbell, and as for guests, well, sorry, the boss was out working.
A file folder was slipped through the crack in the door. Shi frowned, quite displeased with this self-serving behavior, but the fact that they went to such lengths piqued her curiosity. She opened the folder, and inside was a special commission for the target.
"Fujino Asagami... is she from the Asagami Family?"
Shi flipped through the request without a care in the world. In her opinion, this kind of attitude meant she had to be prepared for the request to be thrown in the trash. Anyway, she was bored, so she might as well take a look.
It was already dark when Shi casually placed the commission on Touko's desk. The door opened, and Touko and Caren walked in.
"Where did you go?" Shiki Ryougi asked. Caren simply pulled out a wad of banknotes from her sleeve, like a student who had just gotten a good grade on an exam and was eagerly showing her test paper to her parents.
"What the heck is this?" Shiki Ryougi Shiki's lips twitched. She had taken a little girl out for a short trip and returned with so much money. To be honest, she was considering whether to call the police.
"This is my reward for my work. I never expected this Mystic Code to have such an effect." Caren touched the Mystic Code she was wearing. Touko, who was sitting back on the desk, had completely lost her previous gloom.
Touko lit a cigarette and said, "I took Caren to do some work identifying the sex of chicks. That Mystic Code only works on males, and its efficiency is terrifyingly high."
Shiki Ryougi no longer wanted to dwell on why Caren, a minor, was allowed to work in that kind of place, or why she was able to hold a job that required a business license.
"I really want to kill someone. Is there anything exciting I could do?" Shiki Ryougi thought to herself. Then, as if the heavens had heard her plea, the door opened again.
Mikiya Kokutou walked in with a delinquent with orange-red hair, who was none other than Keita Minato.
"Mikiya, this isn't a shelter." Shiki Ryougi protested like a small animal whose territory had been invaded, when faced with people who had been brought back for no apparent reason.
"Sorry, Shiki, things are a bit complicated here... Is Dr. Bai Mo not here? I'd like to ask him to take a look at this guy's condition."
Afterwards, Mikiya explained Keita Minato's situation to everyone, completely Keita Minato's unpleasant expression. After explaining, Mikiya seemed resigned to his fate and sat on the sofa, quietly waiting for the next bombardment.
You're such a softie!
Shiki Ryougi retorted without hesitation, "Why did you bring this thing back? It's such a hassle."
Keita Minato's face was extremely pale. If he were kicked out now, Fujino would definitely find him and kill him. Fear was constantly eroding his heart, but reason told him that he had to stay.
He could only place his hopeful gaze on Mikiya, Mikiya also felt a sense of weariness about it.
"So, how much did you get in return for paying such a high price, Mikiya?" Caren asked curiously from the side. Mikiya lowered his head and held up four fingers.
"Forty thousand yuan."
"Huh? All that time and effort only resulted in this little bit of money? You went and did something like siding with the devil, and all you got in the end was 40,000 yen?" Caren fanned herself with a bundle of banknotes, the pungent smell of money assaulting Mikiya's olfactory nerves.
"How pitiful, selling one's soul for so little. I can't even imagine how one could live on only 40,000 yuan a month." Looking at Mikiya's bitter face, Caren felt immense pleasure.
She spent a lot of time and effort, and was thoroughly disgusted, only to end up earning less than what Caren would have earned from a chick sex determination test.
I'm sorry my earning power is less than that of a minor.
"So what should we do with this guy? Ms. Shiki, I've seen it in movies. People like him get stuffed into cement-filled oil drums by the yakuza and sunk in Tokyo Bay." Caren put away the bundle of banknotes and said to Keita Minato.
"No! You're a nun, right? I was really wrong, please! If you don't help me, that woman will definitely kill me." Keita Minato knelt on the ground, praying that the nun would forgive his sins in light of his repentance. Christianity preaches atonement, so surely he wouldn't be abandoned?
"You can't just confess to the Lord when you're about to die." Caren Keita Minato to death.
"No!" Keita Minato, his eyes bloodshot. The long-term mental stress and physical exhaustion had almost driven this poor guy crazy.
Mikiya sighed, "I'm sorry, but if we let this guy out, he'll definitely be killed. Although he's a complete scumbag, we can't let Fujino kill him like this. I'll hand him over to the police."
Although Keita Minato's death was not a pity, as someone living in society, Mikiya believed that he should be judged by law. Perhaps it was his inherent kindness, or perhaps it was his long-held beliefs, Keita Minato was eventually given a corner where he could rest.
Just as Kanade Keita Minato sigh of relief, the door opened again, and Bai Mo led Fujino in, saying, "Touko, I encountered a user of the Mystic Eyes on the roadside, and the situation isn't good. You..."
Before he could finish speaking, Bai Mo froze, and so did Fujino behind him. Their eyes turned to Kanade, Keita Minato huddled in the corner. Keita Minato saw the woman he had bullied before, the woman who was now chasing him and trying to kill him.
"Asagami... Fujino."
The air around them seemed to freeze, and everyone's eyes turned to the two of them.
The Keita Minato's eyes shifted from disbelief to despair. The glimmer of hope he had just seen, the tiny spark of light he had just received, vanished in that instant.
He had to escape, he absolutely had to escape. His heart had been eroded by fear for a long time, but when Fujino actually appeared in front of him, Keita Minato's mind suddenly cleared. He put his phone behind his back and typed a message from memory to his former cronies: Help! It's urgent!
We have to get out of here. As long as we escape outside and hide in an alley, we can buy some time. We didn't contact those people before because we were worried about being exposed, but now that we've been exposed, there's no need to worry at all.
Keita Minato looked at Bai Mo and Fujino in front of the door, measuring the distance; it was just enough for them to charge.
That guy still has a delicate female body; the only thing blocking the door is that somewhat muscular-looking man. If I can just knock him aside, I can escape.
What kind of senior is he? He's a complete fraud. In the end, he'll still kill me. No way! I don't want to be killed like those people.
I... I must survive!
With this in mind, Keita Minato running like a slingshot. But his body, which hadn't had a drop of water all day, could no longer support his plan. His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the ground. Everyone watched as he bumped his head on the corner of the shoe cabinet next to the door.
With a thud, he collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness.
Everyone was speechless at this baffling behavior. Finally, Touko couldn't hold back any longer and burst into laughter.
