Zhou Qingyu is Qingyun Peak’s eldest senior brother and the Cangyun Sect’s foremost prodigy. Before reaching Core Formation, he was already a figure admired throughout Cang Province’s younger generation, with no defeats recorded since his debut 4 5 16.

He and Lu Changsheng had spent ten years together by the time of the beast tide. Throughout that period, Zhou Qingyu freely shared his cultivation insights and remembered his junior brother whenever he obtained valuable things at Immortal Ascension Assemblies or in secret realms 13.

Zhou Qingyu is tall and handsome, retaining an imposing presence even when injured and supported by other disciples 4.

Zhou Qingyu devotes almost all his time to cultivation and Sword Dao. He trains day and night, rarely appearing even before those living on the same peak. His absorption in cultivation leaves him inattentive to social matters, which he routinely delegates to Lu Changsheng 4 5 8.

His confidence is straightforward rather than calculated. Lu Changsheng recognizes that he does not display his abilities merely to show off: he is single-minded about the sword and unconcerned with concealing his talent. He disdains underhanded methods, leaving his junior brother to watch for schemes against him 13 15.

Despite his reserved manner, Zhou Qingyu is fiercely protective of Lu Changsheng. Other sect members believe he would retaliate against anyone attempting to kill his junior brother, regardless of their backing. Cultivation Injury and the Ning Household

Zhou Qingyu first appears after injuring himself while cultivating Sword Intent. Following Lu Changsheng’s instructions, he largely recovers and accepts a supposedly preexisting book as the source of the treatment. He then returns to studying and delegates the Ning Household’s reception to Lu 4.

Ning Yuxin arrives at Qingyun Peak hoping to grow closer to him, but he gives her little attention beyond directing her to Lu Changsheng for assistance. Lu encourages her to study swordsmanship as a way of sharing Zhou Qingyu’s interests 8.

Beast Tide and Assassination Attempts

After witnessing his victory over Li Changfeng, a Profound Heaven Sect elder concludes that Zhou Qingyu’s talent makes him too dangerous to leave alive. During the beast tide, their group uses Illusory God Flowers to attract powerful Demon Beasts toward his position 14 16 18.

While Zhou Qingyu fights the Azure Wind Bird, a third-layer Core Formation puppet attacks him with the Thousand Net Tower. Ye Tianyi attempts to intervene, but Lu Changsheng secretly neutralizes the artifact. The Profound Heaven Sect’s conspirators are left unable to explain why their plan caused no casualties 17 18.

Cangyun Secret Realm

Zhou Qingyu guards a newly appeared inheritance hall and refuses entry to outsiders unless they defeat him. Xuan Cheng and Su Muyue attack together, while their allies seek to capture his junior brothers as bargaining chips 30.

He eventually drives back his opponents and enters the hall, but finds no Azure Cloud Map. After sensing a terrifying Sword Intent elsewhere in the realm, he reunites with his junior brothers and leads them outside to report to the sect 35 37.

Defense of the Sect and Dynasty War Preparations

When danger gathers around the Cangyun Sect after the expedition, Zhou Qingyu refuses to leave. He and Ye Tianyi subsequently fight the invading forces. During the battle, the hidden Lu Changsheng’s ninth-layer Sword Dao captivates him as the mastery he has always pursued 37 40 42.

Afterward, Zhou Qingyu enters seclusion for Core Formation. The sect regards him as its strongest prospect for securing one of the Dynasty War’s thirty places in the Divine Firmament Sect, though his admission has not yet occurred 43 50.

Having completed his breakthrough, he travels to the royal capital with the Cangyun Sect and Ning Household. There, he and Ye Tianyi receive invitations to the royal family’s Genius Exchange Conference 50.
