Each of these three things has a deadly side effect: they require potential, vital essence, and spiritual body!
Is the Daoist School trying to seize the destiny of the world?
Pu Yunchuan was one of the designers, and also a lower-level designer. The design of the Daoist School was done by another designer, but Pu Yunchuan remembered some of the rules of the Daoist School.
The Daoist School is a very mysterious organization. They can use esoteric methods to intercept fortune and replenish themselves.
However, Daoist School emphasizes cause and effect and never takes by force. For if one were to forcibly take a life, it would be a purely demonic act, and the person would be possessed by malevolent energy, with an even stronger desire for human flesh and blood, thus becoming lost in the killing.
Daoist School emphasize pure cultivation, seeking only personal gain and avoiding karmic consequences. Therefore, they usually choose to have another person bear the karmic burden.
The emperor is a good candidate. He is the ruler of the Central Plains, inheriting great fortune. Even if he were to accumulate karma, he wouldn't die. He has the ability to bear enough karma. He sounds like a very good partner.
"What does Your Majesty think?" Yunyue asked with a smile.
"While these things from the envoys have some drawbacks, they can indeed solve our immediate problem," the emperor nodded.
The fact that the other party directly pointed out the drawbacks actually lowered his guard a bit. He had guessed that the other party was probably trying to seize his luck directly. If you want to gain power, you have to make a sacrifice. He actually preferred this kind of simple and straightforward transaction.
Ultimately, the degree to which one applies is up to oneself.
That sounds more plausible.
Potential-enhancing pills can be given to people who don't have much potential to begin with. It's a way of making use of waste, squeezing out the last bit of potential from them, temporarily increasing their combat power, and contributing to the fate of the human race.
There are many such people in the capital. When the ghost soldiers were selected to join the army, there were still a million soldiers in the three outer cities of the capital who had not yet joined. Many of them were temporarily waiting in line, and many others were not qualified to join the ghost army at all.
Now it seems that those troops could have been used without being wasted.
As for the latter two, they should be used on the main army. Whether it is using blood essence to control puppets or using spirit to control runes, they are both trump cards that can instantly increase combat power to a certain extent and can be used to determine the outcome of some key battles.
It's a very practical item, and you can use it whenever you want.
"I wonder what price I will have to pay for all these things the Daoist School has prepared for me?" the emperor asked with a smile.
"Didn't I already mention the price?" Yunyue smiled. "His Majesty's army will pay a price whenever they use these things, and the ones who benefit from these prices are our Daoist School!"
"The envoy is indeed honest," the emperor said with a smile.
"When it comes to cooperation, being straightforward is always best. Even if we don't know each other completely, we should at least show some sincerity, right?"
The envoy spoke, and the emperor looked at Chen Qing: "What does the King of Qin think?"
Chen Qing was taken aback, not expecting the emperor to question him. But then again, he and the emperor were now bound together by fate. Recalling his previous plan, he nodded and said, "Your Majesty, I know a little about these Daoist School practices; they do indeed have the effects the other party mentioned, however..."
"But what?" the emperor asked with a smile.
"However, once these things are used, they become addictive, and the more you use them, the easier it is to lose control."
"Oh?" The emperor looked at Yunyue.
"That's for sure," Yunyue said with a smile. "These things weren't originally made for His Majesty's use. They were scattered throughout the world for the survivors of all things to use. Before each use, members of my Daoist School would personally explain the side effects. But if everyone held back from using them, what benefit would my Daoist School receive?"
"So this was the design from the beginning; only by making them lose their way in external forces will the benefits for the Daoist School increase."
"I see." The emperor nodded. "That's a reasonable approach, isn't it?"
"It's good that Your Majesty understands," Yunyue said with a smile.
The emperor looked at Chen Qing, Chen Qing frowned but eventually nodded.
Indeed, there is only one side effect. If the degree of use can be controlled properly, it can indeed turn the tide in some battles.
The current situation is dire. The Buddha Kingdom has awakened ahead of schedule and will likely be able to organize a large, well-organized army soon. The Heavenly Court has also entered the fray. If we don't take action soon, we'll be passively waiting for death. With the Daoist School's temporary items to boost our combat power, we still have a chance to fight back.
The emperor laughed and said, "Very well, I wonder when these things will arrive?"
"It will be soon," Yunyue said with a smile, "As long as His Majesty is willing to sign the contract."
Yunyue pointed to the sky, and a huge talisman appeared out of thin air, with cooperation terms written in ancient script on it.
The emperor and Chen Qing both became serious; this talisman seemed to be connected to something.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be connected to the Earth Dragon.
"What does this mean, envoy?" the emperor asked quietly.
"Of course, some guarantees are necessary," Yunyue said with a smile. "After all, His Majesty has a history of such behavior. The Daoist School sect has shown sufficient sincerity, so His Majesty should reciprocate with some sincerity, shouldn't he?"
Upon hearing this, the emperor glanced at the contents of the talisman and fell into deep thought.
The talisman had very few clauses, probably only two: First, Daoist School emperor could not attack any member of the Daoist School before the Daoist sect launched an attack on the imperial forces!
Article 2: After cooperating with the Daoist School, one shall not cooperate with any other Heavenly Apex power!
"I can understand the first point to some extent, but what does the second point mean?" the emperor asked with a smile. "What is the Heavenly Apex Power?"
" Heavenly Apex is the force that controls a portion of the Heavenly Dao. Back then, in order to expel us, the Heavenly Dao split off Dao Fruit, but these Dao Fruit were seized by various players, or what His Majesty calls outsiders. And those who possess these Dao Fruit are the Heavenly Apex force!"
"I wonder how the scope is defined?" Chen Qing asked directly, "Does obtaining Dao Fruit automatically make one a member of the Heavenly Apex forces, or is there a requirement for a certain quantity?"
"It is the latter." The other party smiled and said, "Senior Chen Qing, there is no need to worry. You are not within the territory of the Heavenly Apex forces. The Heavenly Apex forces represent a Heavenly Dao of Heavenly Dao, and at least possess two Innate Dao Fruit and more than ten Venerable. Not only that, but they also need to control a part of the rules of heaven and earth, such as a part of the Yin-Yang Road of Samsara, or a part of the four basic elements of earth, fire, water, and wind."
Chen Qing frowned upon hearing this. The other party's words were somewhat reserved. He didn't have that ability yet, but that didn't mean he wouldn't in the future. Did that mean that once he reached that level, he wouldn't be able to coexist with the emperor?
The emperor glanced at Chen Qing and frowned slightly. If Chen Qing had truly reached that point, then there would indeed be no point in forming an alliance. The alliance between the two sides was based on the fact that neither side was confident in facing those ancient beings. If Chen Qing had reached that point, then regardless of whether the emperor had kept up or not, there would indeed be no need for cooperation.
Everyone should rely on their own abilities.
That sounds like there's nothing wrong with it.
For some reason, both Chen Qing and the Emperor felt that once this seemingly reasonable agreement was signed, problems would arise, and big problems at that!
