Copying homework-anyone with hands could do it
Looking at the book in his hands, Fang Weiyan wondered whether there were other countries in this world.
If there were, he wondered how powerful they were.
But after thinking for only a moment, Fang Weiyan shook his head, blew out the candle before him, and lay down to sleep.
The next day.
Zhou Wenfei waited nervously outside the hospital.
Yesterday, following Fang Weiyan's guidance, he had found the school and explained why he had come. After much pleading, he had finally met Bao Chongliang and obtained a little of his blood.
Beside Zhou Wenfei stood a boy who bore some resemblance to him, looking hesitant and uncertain.
Beside the boy, his parents paced back and forth, his father puffing away at a cigarette.
In truth, everyone present already had a good idea. When the two first met, anyone could see the resemblance in their brows and eyes.
The school administrators had come along to wait for the results too, knowing this was a major matter.
The middle-aged man who had driven Zhou Wenfei over could feel the awkward atmosphere between them.
Meanwhile, the group chat he had created had already descended into chaos.
"I'm telling you, they look so alike that there's really no need for a paternity test. Everyone already knows."
"That may be true, but you can't call them father and son just because they look alike. A paternity test is necessary. The law requires evidence, after all. Without this test, he won't have any evidence if he wants to take the child away later."
"I'm basically not worried about the paternity test anymore. What I'm more interested in is how ridiculously amazing that Daoist priest is! Good grief, he pinpointed the boy's location with just a photograph. That ability..."
"I want to visit Cloud-Stilling Temple again and see that Daoist priest. He's incredible. I want him to divine when my destined romance will arrive!"
Everyone chimed in, looking extremely excited. They all thought this Daoist priest was freaking awesome!
Soon, under everyone's expectant gazes, a doctor finally emerged holding the paternity test report.
His gaze swept over everyone before he handed it to Zhou Wenfei.
Zhou Wenfei took the report and glanced at the confirmation of their relationship. His face instantly flushed red, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
When he had first met Bao Chongliang earlier, he had already felt that this was his child, but seeing the confirmation himself still left him unable to contain his excitement.
Zhou Wenfei wiped away his tears, then showed the confirmation to Bao Chongliang and his parents, as well as the school administrators beside them.
After seeing the confirmed relationship on it, everyone sighed.
On the one hand, finding his child was something truly worth celebrating.
But on the other, the child the other family had raised for so long was now going to leave, and those emotional ties were hard to sever.
Moreover, according to Bao Chongliang's adoptive parents, they had not actually bought him. There were quite a few twists and turns involved.
Still, now that the child's relationship had been confirmed, how to handle things next was their own business.
Once everyone in the group chat received the definite news, their discussion grew even more heated.
If their earlier discussion had been nothing but unsupported talk, now the Daoist priest had genuinely helped him find the boy. This completely confirmed that Daoist priest's abilities.
They thought of how that Daoist priest, despite his young age, stayed at a Daoist temple up there, hardly ever appearing each day, supposedly cultivating.
He really was cultivating!
As some of them thought about it, they could not help yearning for it. They, too, wanted to cultivate alongside the Daoist priest, living like drifting clouds and wild cranes, free and unfettered.
Most importantly, if they could learn all his abilities, nothing could be better.
"It would be best to put a fishpond on this plot. We can also clear this area for an orchard. Is there anyone in town who knows weaving or similar crafts? We could set up a workshop too."
Fang Weiyan stayed in the government office, studying a sketch of the town and preparing to expand the work available there.
The townspeople could not keep relying on his aid forever. They needed work of their own and the ability to support themselves.
As for poverty alleviation, he just needed to dig through his own country's policies, see how his country had done it, and copy them directly.
Wasn't copying homework something anyone with hands could do?
"Yes, there are some skilled craftspeople in town."
Uncle Fu hastily answered upon hearing this.
Then, after a slight hesitation, Uncle Fu continued, "My lord, there are also people in several villages near the town. This humble commoner knows there are some skilled craftspeople among them too. Should we send someone to bring them here?"
There were several villages nearby, and some of his relatives lived in a few of them. Since there was food to be had here, he thought he might as well have them come over.
Seeing how much more care his lord was putting into the town, and how he was now even preparing to establish industries so the common people could earn an income, Uncle Fu felt even more tempted.
Especially since he had previously seen that the Earth God seemed increasingly extraordinary, looking as though he had recovered considerably.
He felt that with his lord here, Linbei County's future development certainly could not be too poor.
There were still people in the other villages?
Fang Weiyan paused at this, then nodded. "Then call them over. However many there are, we'll take them all."
He now had the confidence to say that. Linbei County still had far too few people. How could a town this large have only a few hundred residents?
Only with more people could it flourish in the future.
"Yes, this humble commoner will send people shortly to bring those villagers over."
At this, Uncle Fu's face lit up with delight, and he spoke with the utmost respect.
Fang Weiyan nodded and studied how his own country had alleviated poverty, preparing to copy all of it.
"Building roads... it looks like that will have to wait."
Road building was part of poverty alleviation because of the saying, "To get rich, build roads first." Its main purpose was to make transport convenient so the economy could improve.
Road building was indeed extremely important.
The problem, however, was that not far outside Linbei County, one would leave the Earth God's protection and easily attract the attention of spirits and monsters.
They could not even reach Pingshui City right now. How could they build a road out?
Still, opening a road to Pingshui City so that trade could flow between the two places was extremely important.
With that thought, Fang Weiyan noted it down as a priority.
After reading that item, Fang Weiyan continued looking down the list. Establish an academy...
At this, Fang Weiyan scratched his head.
That was fairly important too, he supposed. With more scholars around, any demons that came in the future would not fix their sights on eating him.
