Hard to Handle
The three of them went out and locked the door.
We walked along the quaint, old-fashioned street, heading straight ahead.
To be fair, the courtyard they chose is a good location.
After leaving the courtyard, we walked a short distance and came to a street lined with food vendors, their calls echoing throughout the place.
There were also taverns, teahouses, and theaters nearby.
Listening to the hawkers' cries, one could only feel that this imperial capital was indeed a place of great prosperity and splendor.
However, when Fang Weiyan looked at these people, he saw that the color above each of their heads was only pale yellow, and he immediately frowned slightly.
Even the imperial capital is like this.
As things stand, the upper limit is indeed locked.
If the capital is in such a state, how much better can other places be?
Seeing this scene before him, Fang Weiyan couldn't help but sigh.
"This is getting complicated..."
"What did you say, young master?"
Cheng Feng heard Fang Weiyan's murmur and couldn't help but ask softly.
Fang Weiyan shook his head. "It's nothing, I just find the capital city quite lively."
"This isn't a suitable topic of conversation," Fang Weiyan said evasively.
Looking around, I didn't see any homeless people, but I did see quite a few beggars by the roadside.
They were all disheveled and dressed in rags.
Fang Weiyan sighed inwardly and went into a restaurant.
A waiter immediately came forward to greet them and led the three inside.
After ordering some food, Fang Weiyan asked Cheng Feng and Cheng Feng to sit down together.
Cheng Feng and his companion were unwilling, feeling that they shouldn't eat at the same table as the adults.
Seeing this, Fang Weiyan thought for a moment and asked them to sit at the next table, and ordered some food for their table as well.
Seeing this, Cheng Feng and his companion sat down.
"Have you heard? Another corpse was found in the river south of the city today. It looks like its heart was ripped out. I reckon it was done by some kind of demon."
Fang Weiyan was looking around, and from here he could see the street scene outside.
As he was looking around, he heard some whispers from the side.
Upon hearing this discussion, Fang Weiyan's expression immediately turned serious. Had demons actually been eating people in the capital?
"That's right. Someone saw it with their own eyes, but the constables rushed over, retrieved the body, and took it away. This is the tenth such incident this month, and we still haven't heard of the demon being caught."
"I wonder if those Underworld Administration in the city are still effective."
The murmurs of the diners nearby carried a somewhat somber tone.
Fang Weiyan listened in silence. Having stayed in Linbei County for over a month, he could guess some of the situation there.
He surmised that either the demon had lured people out of the city to eat them, or the Devil Cultivator so powerful that even if it ate people in the city, the Underworld Administration wouldn't notice.
Or perhaps the divine power in the Underworld Administration is almost exhausted, so as long as the demon isn't too outrageous, they'll just go along with it.
Alternatively, it's also possible that the Underworld Administration has colluded with the other party.
This is something I heard the Earth God mention before.
The Underworld Administration and demons colluded, mainly to prevent themselves from dying and their spiritual essence from dissipating.
Just like when Fang Weiyan first came to this world, the female ghost set her sights on him and angrily shouted at the Earth God, who was about to perish as a minor deity, yet still fought so desperately.
As he considered the possibilities he had guessed, Fang Weiyan's brows furrowed even more deeply.
Neither of these is a good thing.
As Fang Weiyan was pondering, the waiter came up with a tray containing several dishes.
The plate contains the cooked food.
When Fang Weiyan saw the dishes clearly, his expression stiffened slightly.
What a blunder! The food here doesn't look or taste very good...
Fang Weiyan rubbed his forehead, as if he shouldn't have come out to eat.
But since we're already out, we might as well eat something.
Fang Weiyan picked up the chopsticks beside him and took a few bites.
His brow immediately relaxed slightly; thankfully, it wasn't to the point where he couldn't swallow it.
Fang Weiyan ate each bite carefully, listening attentively to the conversation of the other diners.
The sun had already set behind the mountains, bathing the entire restaurant in a golden hue.
Fang Weiyan looked in the direction of the sunlight, feeling the warmth of the sun.
"I feel that the sunlight is so weak, like that of an elderly person. If the sun is Golden Crow, could it be that the Golden Crow has entered its old age?"
Looking at the sun, Fang Weiyan felt something was a little strange.
In his opinion, the sunlight was far too weak.
If we really want to make a comparison, the sun in the main world is full of blazing fire, giving off a masculine feeling.
The one on the other side, however, carries a feminine feel.
Fang Weiyan stared intently at the sun, but he couldn't discern anything. His eyes, however, could now see something unusual.
Just looking at the sun, Fang Weiyan couldn't figure it out either.
Was the distance too great, or was it simply that his limited Divine Ability abilities were incapable of discerning anything from the Golden Crow?
After thinking about it, I feel that both are possible.
If what was hanging there was indeed a Golden Crow Golden Crow, now that it had transformed into the sun, it was probably beyond Fang Weiyan's ability to see through.
The diners nearby were talking about some strange and unusual things that had happened in Yanhuai City.
Fang Weiyan listened attentively from the side.
What diners say may be some of the rumors or fabrications they made up for the sake of conversation.
But some of these things might actually be True Person.
At present, Fang Weiyan wants to learn any information, he can only listen to it from these people and then try to distinguish the truth from the falsehood.
The Imperial Palace.
"Your Majesty, the person has been brought here and is currently awaiting Your Majesty's summons in Yanhuai City."
Commander Yan his hands and bowed.
The emperor, seated on the dragon throne, raised his head upon hearing this, his face remaining impassive, but inwardly he breathed a sigh of relief.
After waiting for five days, this person finally arrived. It's good that he got to Yanhuai City safely.
He was unaware that the journey would be fraught with danger.
The journey is fraught with danger, and one wrong step could easily lead to your demise.
"After the morning court session tomorrow, bring him to see me in the Imperial Garden."
The emperor of the Jiang Kingdom thought for a moment, then gave the order.
Now that the person has been brought here, we should make sure they can use their abilities as soon as possible. If we can stabilize the Jiang Kingdom quickly, we can prevent its Jiang Kingdom strength from continuously dwindling.
"Yes."
Commander Yan responded and then quickly clasped his hands in a fist salute and left.
Seeing the other party leave, the Emperor of the Jiang Kingdom picked up a booklet from the side and looked at it. Some of the books were submitted by his ministers, and some were submitted by the Underworld Administration.
Famine, floods, demons, drought, corruption, impeachments, lack of officials, empty treasury, salaries, and the Ministry of War and Ministry of Ministry of Works demanding money...
A ton of things were piled up on the table in front of me.
