A cultivation method was hard to find
"Tell me, what else would you like?"
The eldest princess seemed somewhat languid now, and even her voice carried a hint of lightness.
After successfully entering the Nascent Soul Realm, her lifespan had increased by eight hundred years.
With her aptitude, advancing another step within those eight hundred years was not impossible.
Most importantly, that prayer had made the Heavenly Dao remember her. This was a feeling she sensed in the unseen.
She knew that when her Spirit Transformation heavenly tribulation arrived, her chances of successfully overcoming it would increase by several more degrees.
And all of this was thanks to Su Mu.
Speaking of which, this fellow actually possessed such an ability. A single prayer had induced the Heavenly Dao to manifest its divinity. That was truly impressive.
Su Mu knew none of this. Thanks to Xiao Wu's reminder, though, he had some idea of how many treasures he could ask for.
"I would like to ask, if the soul within a body is incomplete, making movement difficult, how can control over the body be restored?"
For his second request, Su Mu still focused on his body on Earth.
Even now, that body could not move freely, leaving Su Mu somewhat worried about whether he would end up completely paralyzed if this continued.
A somewhat strange look entered the eldest princess's eyes at his words. After a brief silence, she ultimately asked no questions.
"If it is merely a matter of restoring control over the body, that is not difficult."
As she spoke, the eldest princess waved her hand again. A speck of light flew out, then slowly sank into Su Mu's forehead.
"Once you return, immerse your mind in it, and you will receive a cultivation method. You need only gain a rudimentary grasp of it to recover."
Su Mu's heart immediately leaped with joy. "Thank you, Your Highness!"
"If there is anything else you want, say it all at once. These paltry things you have requested are truly beneath my station."
The eldest princess did not mind either. She was in an excellent mood right now.
Hearing this, Su Mu suppressed his delight and said, "I would also like a cultivation method that I can practice, but not one of the ghost path. In addition, I would like some Spirit Stones and some gold. Lastly, I hope to be allowed to enter and leave the palace grounds freely."
Su Mu did not ask for much, lest he use up this debt of gratitude entirely.
The eldest princess was extremely powerful now-a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator!
Previously, Su Mu had asked Xiao Wu about it. There were actually very few Nascent Soul Realm cultivators. A sect with even one Nascent Soul Realm expert was considered an extremely formidable presence.
And now that Su Mu had this connection with the eldest princess, as long as that debt of gratitude remained, he felt he would most likely be fine if he invoked her name when he went out in the future.
Hearing this, the eldest princess gave Su Mu a puzzled look.
This fellow was rather strange. He had done her such an enormous favor, yet he had only asked for this little.
The things he requested were essentially all inconsequential.
"I will have a maid deliver the Spirit Stones and gold to your courtyard later. You will also be given a token then, allowing you to enter and leave the palace grounds below freely."
"As for the cultivation method..."
At the mention of this, the eldest princess felt a bit of a headache coming on.
Su Mu was currently only a soul. Finding a cultivation method he could practice that was not meant for ghost cultivators was indeed extremely difficult. For the moment, she could not think of any cultivation method suitable for him.
After all, once someone became a soul, taking the ghost cultivation path would generally yield twice the effort for half the result.
That said, even if Su Mu wanted to pursue ghost cultivation, she would not agree.
Once they began cultivating, ghost cultivators would all become somewhat abnormal under the influence of their cultivation methods, turning dark and exceedingly prone to brutality.
As for Su Mu himself, he naturally did not wish to become a ghost cultivator. He was merely a soul, yet so many things already restrained him. What would happen if he became a ghost cultivator?
He reckoned just about anything would be able to restrain him then.
His experiences over the past few days had left Su Mu feeling restricted at every turn, which was extremely unpleasant. He would not enter the path of ghost cultivation even if he were beaten to death.
Su Mu looked at the eldest princess expectantly. Hearing her draw out her words when she mentioned the cultivation method, he could not help growing somewhat apprehensive.
"It is indeed difficult to think of such a cultivation method. Wait a few days. I will have someone look through the library, and if there is one, I will have it sent to you."
The eldest princess considered it for a moment but truly could not recall any such cultivation method, so she could only give him this answer for now.
Su Mu was a little disappointed to hear this, but remembering the rewards he had just received, he set that disappointment aside. Today's gains could be called exceedingly bountiful. There was no need to be so disappointed.
"Yes. Then, may I take my leave?"
"What, do you dislike staying here with me so much that you are in such a hurry to leave?"
Uh.
Honestly, with her being a Nascent Soul Realm big shot on top of her illustrious status, Su Mu really was somewhat reluctant to stay here any longer.
But naturally, he could not say that outright.
"Of course not. It is just that Your Highness must usually be quite busy, and I dare not trouble you with too much chatter."
Su Mu spoke against his true feelings. He felt that if he told the truth, he would probably displease the eldest princess.
Yet the eldest princess seemed to see right through Su Mu and made no comment on his words. Still, since he had put it that way, she had no intention of keeping him any longer.
"Mm. You may withdraw."
The eldest princess raised her chin slightly, looking somewhat cold and haughty.
But with the curtain between them, Su Mu did not see this. Hearing her words, he turned and hurried away.
Having received his rewards, he could hardly wait to return and study them.
After Xiao Wu flew Su Mu down, however, she did not take him back to his previous house. Instead, she brought him to a small courtyard spanning over a thousand square meters.
"This is...?"
Su Mu found it rather strange. Was he moving somewhere else?
"You rendered a great service to Great Liang. Naturally, you should be given better accommodations."
Xiao Wu offered an explanation. She had not moved him earlier because, without orders from the eldest princess, she had not known what sort of place to move him to.
Now that the eldest princess had awakened, she had also selected his accommodations.
Su Mu saw several large characters written on the plaque overhead. After studying them carefully, he realized he did not recognize them and could only give up.
Following her into the courtyard, he looked around and was immediately struck by its beauty.
This courtyard was a hundred times more exquisite than the one he had stayed in before.
He did not know what kind of timber had been used beside him. Its surface had not been painted, and up close, it gave off the fresh fragrance of wood. The surrounding design was exceptionally harmonious as well.
There was a small pond to one side, with lotuses planted in it.
Unlike some small ponds, the water in this one looked exceedingly clean, and the lotuses glowed with a faint pink light.
They were lotuses all the same, yet the ones here were clearly more beautiful, stunning anyone at first sight.
To think I would actually get to live somewhere like this. Su Mu felt rather moved.
Su Mu looked around, liking this courtyard immensely. Back on Earth, a courtyard like this would probably cost at least ten million.
