Lu Cheng rose from a Shrek student to the Holy Spirit Cult’s Holy Son, breaking Zhang Lexuan’s trust and later taking her into the Star Dou Great Forest. After advancing to Titled Douluo, he demanded answers from Shrek Academy while pushing Zhang Lexuan to grow stronger.
Lu Cheng’s long revenge plan ended with his death and Zhang Lexuan’s, but he returned to an earlier life with his memories and powers. He entered Shrek Academy, where his rise drew attention from old enemies and Ma Xiaotao, who recognized him during the freshman finals.
Lu Cheng grew stronger, reunited with Zhang Lexuan, and protected Jiang Nannan from the Black Tortoise Sect. In the Star Dou Great Forest, he encountered Ning Tian, fused with Tian Meng, and rescued Tang Ya as Huo Yuhao began his journey.
Lu Cheng helped Tang Ya and Huo Yuhao, clashed with Shrek Academy over its treatment of Xiao Xiao, and gained the Snow Empress as his third Martial Soul. He returned to find Shrek’s leaders plotting to control him and survived a Black Tortoise Sect ambush, killing its attackers and deepening the conflict with the sect.
Lu Cheng carried Shrek Academy through the tournament after an Evil Soul Master mission crippled its main team, while arranging to leave with the Body Sect. His victories and growing strength deepened his conflict with Shrek's leaders, and Cheng Gang's accusation ended with compensation from Star Luo and recruitment offers from other academies.
Lu Cheng exposed Shrek Academy’s abuses, joined the Body Sect, and later used a simulation to guide Ye Guyi toward godhood while secretly leading the Holy Spirit Cult. After Ye Guyi destroyed the cult’s forces, she found Lu Cheng waiting at its underground altar and begged him to come home with her.
Ye Guyi followed Lu Cheng into reincarnation, while Lu Cheng returned to the mortal world and pursued new allies and Soul Tool research. After helping Tang Ya avenge her family and acquiring powerful sacrifices in the Star Dou Great Forest, he infiltrated the Sun Moon Empire and drew Ju Zi into his plans.
Lu Cheng broke with the Sun Moon Empire, rescued Jing Hongchen and his family, and helped the Body Sect expand its Soul Tool program and universal awakening campaign. The arc ended with Lu Cheng crushing the Xu Clan and ordering the Body Sect to spread its branches across the Heavenly Soul Empire.
Lu Cheng claimed the Immortal Herb Garden, strengthened the Body Sect, and navigated alliances and conflicts at the Mingdu tournament while trying to free Ye Guyi from the Holy Spirit Cult. The arc ended as Lu Cheng faced Shrek Academy alone in their decisive group-stage match.
Lu Cheng helped the rival factions escape Mingdu, destroyed a Holy Spirit Cult branch, and strengthened the Body Sect through new trade and Battle Armor plans. He then began a simulation in the distant past, where he befriended Gu Yue and Na'er, took on Qian Renxue as his goddaughter, and suspected an unseen force was driving Soul Beasts against humanity.
