Complete Realm

Bai Yushan had not put himself through this grueling training to strengthen his Electric Current Push.

In fact, Electric Current Push could indeed be improved through training, but as a power governed by the mind, the gains from training fell far short of those brought about by emotional stimulation.

Anger, madness, joy, sorrow... these emotions were the true fuel of Electric Current Push.

The stronger the emotion, the more violent the current, and the greater the power.

Improving through training alone was pitifully slow, nowhere near as fast as finding someone to fight.

Bai Yushan was doing this simply to gain complete control over his increased strength.

In the world of Sea Tiger, there was a realm known as the Complete Realm!

The so-called Complete Realm meant using your greatest strength to precisely strike your opponent's weakest point; concentrating your power on a single point without wasting any of it. It meant ultimate fine control, seeing through weaknesses, unifying mind and state of being, bringing heart, brain, and magnetic field into perfect synchronization, with no stray thoughts. Moves followed the will, so fast that opponents could not see the action, only the result!

Reaching such a Complete Realm required arduous training and mastery over oneself.

No matter how great your strength, it was meaningless if you could not land a hit.

No matter how fast you were, you would hurt yourself if you could not control it.

No matter how violent the current, it was all for nothing if you could not use it.

What Bai Yushan wanted was not mere strength, but absolute control over that strength.

Even in the world of Sea Tiger, renowned for its staggering numerical power levels, powerhouses who had reached the Complete Realm and those who had not were two entirely different things!

Someone with a hundred thousand horsepower but no Complete Realm might lose to someone with ten thousand horsepower who had perfected the Complete Realm.

The former possessed strength but did not know how to use it, wasting most of it with every punch. The latter had less strength, but put every bit of it to the blade's edge, every punch striking flesh, every move lethal.

Bai Yushan wanted to be the latter.

His training continued until dismissal time drew near.

Bai Yushan's grueling practice also came to a halt.

He was soaked all over, as though he had been fished out of the water, but his eyes were frighteningly bright. The current slowly faded from his body, and his muscles gradually stopped trembling. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, his racing heartbeat gradually returning to a steady rhythm.

He put on his clothes, entered the teaching building, and went to the dean's office.

Chen Qingquan had returned at some point and was sitting behind his desk, reading files. His hair was graying, the wrinkles on his face looked as though they had been carved with a knife, and his eyes were small but as sharp as an eagle's. Hearing footsteps, he raised his head and glanced at Bai Yushan.

"Trained all afternoon?"

"Mm."

Chen Qingquan nodded without saying anything more. He knew how Bai Yushan trained and had tried to dissuade him several times, but the boy would not listen at all, so he had eventually stopped. Everyone had their own path; the path he thought right might not suit someone else.

After greeting Chen Qingquan, Bai Yushan headed toward Na'er's home.

Leaving the academy gates, he walked down the street alone, his schoolbag slung over his shoulder, humming a song to some unrecognizable tune. The setting sun stretched his shadow out long, trailing it diagonally across the ground.

Aolai City was not large, and its outskirts were quieter still. The roadside shops closed one after another, and pedestrians grew fewer and fewer. Bai Yushan walked along a path paved with bluestone slabs, his steps light, his eyes wandering everywhere.

Just one street away, three men hid around a corner, craning their necks to peer in Bai Yushan's direction.

Their leader was a bald, burly man with a face full of brutish flesh and a knife scar on his left cheek that stretched from the corner of his eye to the corner of his mouth. He had a sturdy build and wore a gray short-sleeved shirt, exposing two thick arms tattooed with a jumble of designs.

The bald man was named Ma San. He had roamed the area around Aolai City for several years, making his living trafficking children. He had two men under him, one named Liu Laosi and the other Wang Mazi. The three shared the same foul tastes and colluded like wolves and jackals, targeting children who were alone.

Ma San stared at Bai Yushan's back, greed glittering in his eyes.

"See that little kid?" he said in a lowered voice, pointing at Bai Yushan in the distance. "His skin's so fair it glows, and his clothes don't look like those of an ordinary family's child. He must be some great family's young master."

Liu Laosi was tall and thin, with a long, horse-like face and eyes as small as mung beans. He narrowed his eyes at Bai Yushan and nodded. "You're right, Brother San. One look tells you this kid comes from money. Look at the way he walks, head high and chest out, not afraid of anyone. He must be used to being waited on."

Wang Mazi was short and fat, his face covered in pockmarks. Rubbing his hands together, he chuckled. "If we pull off this job, we can wash our hands in a golden basin and retire. Sell this pretty boy, take the money back home, buy a few mu of land, get a wife, and live a good life."

Ma San glared at him.

"Shut up. Don't celebrate too soon. Follow him first, and find somewhere deserted to make our move."

Liu Laosi hesitated. "Brother San, this kid looks young, but what if he's a Soul Master?"

Ma San snorted. "A Soul Master? Look at that little body of his, skinny as a monkey. Does he look like a Soul Master? Besides, so what if he really is one? We make it quick and don't cause a big commotion, and those fat pigs at the security office won't catch us!"

Liu Laosi thought it over, decided that made sense, and said no more.

Once the three finished discussing it, they quietly followed behind Bai Yushan.

They kept a block away. When Bai Yushan walked, they followed; when Bai Yushan stopped, they posed as passersby, pretending to browse the roadside shops. Their coordination was seamless and their movements practiced. One look was enough to tell they were old hands.

Walking ahead, Bai Yushan's lips curled up slightly.

He had noticed the three of them long ago.

They had started following him as soon as he left the academy gates and had tailed him all the way here. He deliberately headed toward less crowded places and slowed his steps, just to see what the three of them intended to do.

Although his electric-current magnetic field could not scan the entire city like radar, he could sense who was within a radius of several dozen meters, and whether they bore goodwill or malice.

Those three men's malice was as thick as ink. He could feel it even from a street away.

Bai Yushan continued onward, heading farther and farther out of the way, into ever quieter surroundings.

The houses around him grew fewer, and the roadside trees grew more numerous. Rolling hills lay in the distance, with great stretches of wasteland nearby. Few people normally used this road, and now there was not a single soul in sight.

Only when he neared the outskirts did Bai Yushan stop.

He turned around, looked back at the empty space behind him, and grinned. "I've been waiting for you for a long time!"

His voice was not loud, but it sounded especially clear on the empty street.

Hiding around the corner of a wall, Ma San's heart tightened.

We've been spotted?

Impossible, right? We've tailed people so many times and never slipped up. How could a six-year-old kid possibly notice us?

Ma San signaled Liu Laosi and Wang Mazi not to move and to wait a little longer. Perhaps the kid was only talking to himself.

Seeing that the three traffickers still showed no intention of coming out, Bai Yushan had no desire to waste time.

Blue-white arcs of electricity burst from his body, dancing wildly over his skin. His hair stood up, every strand on end, and the current billowed his clothes, making them snap and flutter. His eyes lit up, flames of madness burning in his pupils.

Electric Current Push, six thousand volts!

He clenched his right fist, and all the current surged toward it. Blue-white light gathered around his fist, growing brighter and brighter, more and more blinding.
