Background / History

Childhood in Aolai City

Na'er lost all her memories after taking human form. When Bi Ji found her, she failed to recognize her caretaker and hid behind Bai Yushan, clutching his clothes whenever Bi Ji approached 10.

Bai Yushan subsequently moved into the estate where Na'er lived under Bi Ji's care. Na'er followed him closely, shared his games, and became distressed when he stayed away too long. Bi Ji arranged adjoining bedrooms so that Na'er could reach him if she woke during the night 13 16 17 20.

After hearing about Bai Yushan's hardships, Na'er promised to stay with him. She later declared that she wanted to become strong enough to protect him. Although he initially rebuked her understanding of hard work, Bai Yushan recognized the enormous reserves of energy within her and called her a true genius 14 16 17.

Over the next three years, he became her combat instructor. Their training developed her from a child unable to use her own power into a disciplined spear fighter who could maintain concentration through his relentless criticism 26.

Departure and Shrek Academy

Na'er eventually left Aolai City with Bi Ji. Although she did not want to part with Bai Yushan, she believed that becoming much stronger was necessary if she wanted to remain beside him permanently. Bai Yushan reluctantly accepted that her Soul Master development required expertise he could not yet provide 28 29.

In Shrek City, Yun Ming and Ya Li happened to see Na'er practicing her spear techniques while disguised as an ordinary couple. Recognizing her talent, they took her as their final disciple. Bi Ji obtained hospital work through Ya Li's introduction and continued caring for Na'er, visiting her on weekends 262.

Na'er trained on Sea God Island for more than a year, benefiting from its exceptionally rich primal Qi and Yun Ming's instruction. Her spear technique became difficult to match among Inner Court students of the same rank 252.

Despite this protection, she feared her wager with Gu Yue and the possibility of being absorbed to restore the Silver Dragon King's complete origin. Her determination to grow stronger remained tied to escaping that fate and seeing Bai Yushan again 247.

Reunion and Duel with Gu Yue

Bai Yushan reunited with Na'er beside Sea God Lake after more than a year apart. Initially afraid that his arrival was an illusion, she rushed into his arms when he called her name 248.

Gu Yue's presence immediately alarmed her. Na'er regarded her as an enemy who might devour her origin, and Gu Yue aggravated the situation by acting affectionate toward Bai Yushan and mocking the institutional barriers separating them. Na'er responded by attacking her with the Silver Dragon Spear 248 249.

Their duel spread across the frozen lake, pitting Na'er's spear techniques against Gu Yue's elemental control. Na'er resisted origin suppression and repeatedly forced Gu Yue to take her attacks seriously. Nevertheless, she was slightly disadvantaged when Inner Court disciple Liang Chuan intervened; no decisive result was reached 249 250 251 252.

Afterward, Na'er realized that Gu Yue had held back and did not intend to devour her. Much of her hostility subsided. When Gu Yue suggested leaving Shrek for the Spirit Pagoda to stay with Bai Yushan, Na'er seriously considered it, but remained torn between him and the teachers who had treated her as their daughter 260 261.

Renewed Separation

Cai Yue'er's attack on Bai Yushan escalated into a confrontation between Shrek Academy and Leng Yaozhu. Bai Yushan ultimately left with his master and Gu Yue, while Na'er remained behind. Yun Ming's insistence on keeping her at Shrek damaged the father–daughter bond they had developed 267 269.

Na'er threatened to kill Cai Yue'er in the future, her killing intent awakening a terrifying response from the Silver Dragon King power within her. She then looked coldly at Yun Ming and Ya Li and returned to Sea God Island without speaking to them 270.

That night, she turned her grief and longing into cultivation. Her silver-white Soul Power circulated several times faster than usual, though no new rank breakthrough was stated 271 272.

Appearance

Na'er is petite and delicate, retaining soft facial features as she grows taller 26 248.

• Hair: Short silver hair in childhood; long silver-white hair by her reunion with Bai Yushan 13 248.
• Eyes: Described as amethyst in childhood and pale silver or silver in later scenes 10 260 268.
• Dragon scales: Fine silver scales cover her body during Dragon Soul Possession; silver-bright scales also appear on her neck when her bloodline power surges 249 270.

Personality

Na'er is affectionate, emotionally expressive, and intensely attached to Bai Yushan. As a child, she habitually clutches his sleeve, cries over his suffering, and waits anxiously for him to return. Her wish to protect him develops into a determination to become strong enough that they cannot be separated 14 17 20 29.

Her tenderness does not make her passive in combat. Bai Yushan's training teaches her to ignore harsh criticism, study an opponent's movements, and keep refining her attacks. Against Gu Yue, she becomes increasingly determined rather than retreating under greater pressure 26 250.

She is grateful to Yun Ming and Ya Li and understands their parental affection, but Bai Yushan remains her highest priority. When Shrek's actions force another separation, her grief gives way to open hostility, a death threat against Cai Yue'er, and emotional withdrawal from her teachers 259 269 270.

Silver Dragon King Bloodline

Na'er possesses thirty percent of the Silver Dragon King's origin, forcibly separated from Gu Yue. The origin is described as God King-level power, but this does not make her current combat strength equivalent to a God King 248 270.

• Can partially resist Gu Yue's origin suppression, although Gu Yue's pressure is purer and heavier 249.
