A Baptism Amid Slaughter
"So weak..."
Bai Yushan gripped a Soul King's neck, tightening his grip little by little. His fingers, like iron clamps, were firmly locked around the other's throat, feeling the other's struggles grow weaker and weaker, savoring the pleasure of life slowly slipping away in his hands.
The Soul King's face had turned a deep purplish-red, his eyes bulging, his tongue lolling out, and his hands gripping Bai Yushan's wrists tightly, trying to pry them open, but Bai Yushan's wrists were as hard as iron, completely unmoving. His legs were kicking weakly in the air, his toes getting lower and lower, and his struggles becoming weaker and weaker.
"Click--"
The crisp sound of a broken neck bone could be clearly heard in this desolate mountain.
The Soul King's body went limp instantly, his eyes wide open, dying with unfinished business.
Bai Yushan casually tossed the corpse on the ground, clapped his hands, as if he had only done a trivial matter.
He was wearing a tattered black outfit, stained with dark red blood, some of which had dried and turned black, while others were still slightly bleeding. His hair was longer than before, disheveled and hanging over his shoulders, obscuring half of one eye.
His exposed arms were covered with a crisscrossing network of scars, new wounds piled on top of old ones, a shocking sight.
But his eyes were even more frantic and fervent than they had been four months ago.
A crimson light surged deep within his eyes, like two burning flames.
Before I knew it, four or five months had passed since I left Shrek City.
In such a desolate wilderness, if it weren't for the satellite positioning provided openly and covertly by the Sun Moon Federation, many forces would have long since given up on the idea of finding Bai Yushan.
After all, without being able to send out experts at the Soul Saint or above, capturing Bai Yushan alive would be too difficult.
As for why they didn't send out experts at the Soul Saint or above...
No way! No way!
Surely no one is unaware of the fact that the Leng Clan is one of the Four Great Families of the Sun Moon Federation, or its formidable reputation?
Admittedly, the Leng Clan cannot forcibly protect Bai Yushan, who is not obediently staying in the clan's territory, for the sake of a monstrous genius who has not fulfilled his potential. However, the Leng Clan can demand that all experts above the Soul Saint level not participate in the hunt for Bai Yushan!
Those powerful individuals who didn't have any allies or form their own factions are another story. If Bai Yushan encountered them, it would be considered bad luck. Who told him to disobey the clan leader Leng Yaozhu and stay obediently in the Spirit Pagoda? There's nothing that can be done about his death.
However, if a family or powerful entity dares to send out an expert above the Soul Saint level, then they will understand what annihilation means!
The wrath of the Leng Clan is not something that just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can withstand.
Therefore, for the past four or five months, those who have been hunting down Bai Yushan have mostly been Soul King and Soul Ancestor Soul Master, as well as some Soul Engineer piloting mechs. They thought that with their numerical advantage and the power of their mechs, they could take down Bai Yushan, but what was the result?
The result was that as a batch arrived, a batch died.
Bai Yushan was like a bottomless pit, swallowing the lives of all those who came to hunt him down. His reputation grew louder and more terrifying over the course of four or five months of killing.
Later on, few forces dared to easily send people to hunt him down. After all, Soul King- level expert was a pillar of any force, and the death of even one would be a great loss, let alone one dying in batches like this.
Even so, some forces, still unwilling to give up and clinging to a sliver of hope, sent people to investigate.
After all, the allure of that "inheritance from other dimensions" was simply too great.
So great that they were willing to pay a heavy price.
As you can see, the Tang Sect, even though it's just a small plane called Dragon Valley on the Star Luo Continent, has been able to produce countless geniuses and monsters over the years.
With such a massive gold mine right before their eyes, who could possibly ignore it?
With the Leng Clan and Shrek Academy now in a position of power, no one dares to risk sending Soul Saint- level expert.
But time will erode all friendships!
Faced with a potential interdimensional inheritance, is the Leng Clan truly unmoved?
Shrek Academy is really not interested?
Even if Leng Yaozhu and Yun Ming remain steadfast in their stance, can the others within the Leng Clan and Shrek Academy truly remain neutral?
In the desolate mountains of central Douluo Continent.
The trees were lush and dense, blocking out the sun. Strangely, however, there was little trace of Soul Beast in this forest. Occasionally, a few low-level Soul Beast would pass by, but they were always in a panic, as if there was some terrifying being here.
That is indeed the case.
Bai Yushan snapped the neck of the Soul King in his hand, his entire being seemingly consumed by slaughter, his scarlet eyes sweeping indifferently over his surroundings. Unfortunately, all he saw were the wreckage of a dozen or so purple mechs and the corpses of the Soul Master who piloted them.
Those purple mechs are standard-issue mechs mass-produced by the Sun Moon Federation. While they aren't top-tier, they're not weak either.
Each mech pilot is at least Soul Master at the Soul Elder level. Paired with the mech, they can unleash Soul Ancestor- level combat power. Once their numbers reach a certain level, even Soul King are not immune to their power.
But now, all these mechs have turned into piles of scrap metal. Some have had their cockpits punched through, some have been torn in half, and others have been charred black by lightning, with their pilots long since turned into charred corpses.
The air was thick with the stench of blood and burning.
More than twenty corpses lay scattered on the ground, including Soul Master and mecha pilots. Blood pooled into streams, slowly flowing across the cracked ground and seeping into the soil, staining the ground dark red.
Bai Yushan stood amidst mountains of corpses and seas of blood, his body crackling with electricity. Blue and white arcs of electricity coursed around him, ionizing the surrounding air and causing it to emit sharp, explosive sounds.
His breathing was heavy and labored.
Four or five months of continuous fighting caused his Electric Current Push to increase rapidly, from the initial 380,000 volts to the current 450,000 volts. His physical strength also became more and more terrifying in each life-or-death battle.
But he knew that wasn't enough.
It's still quite a distance from the Electric Current Push —500,000 volts.
Bai Yushan shook the blood off his hands and was about to turn and leave.
Just then--
A figure appeared silently beside Bai Yushan.
Bai Yushan's keen senses made him turn around immediately. Violent thunder roared around him, and blue-white electric currents, like venomous snakes, swept towards the figure!
His gaze instantly fell on the unexpected visitor.
His scarlet eyes were filled with vigilance and murderous intent.
But just then--
"Xiaoshan!"
A soft voice rang out.
The voice was like a gentle spring breeze, tender and melodious, carrying a hint of sob, a touch of excitement, and a deep longing.
Immediately afterwards, a green figure rushed towards Bai Yushan without hesitation, completely disregarding the scorching lightning!
Bai Yushan sensed a familiar scent.
It was a faint, refreshing scent, like grass and dew, carrying a rich life force, warm and healing.
And that voice that haunts my dreams.
He immediately suppressed the electric current on his body; the violent blue-white arcs of electricity vanished without a trace, like the receding tide.
