Background / History

The Uchiha were one of Konoha's founding clans, alongside the Senju. Their historical strength allowed the two clans to establish the village and pressured other clans to either join hidden villages or organize separately. 109

Within Konoha's clan hierarchy, the Uchiha and Hyuga were considered the village's strongest contemporary clans, while the Kurama ranked just below them among bloodline-bearing families. Uchiha combatants were regarded as reliable wartime comrades because Sharingan users often fought at the front and could turn battles at critical moments. 37

The clan's relationship with the village deteriorated after the Nine-Tails Attack, when the Sharingan seen in the beast's eyes caused civilians and other clans to suspect Uchiha involvement.
