When You Gaze into the Abyss
This Raven, transformed from a ball of light, is evident both in its appearance and in its aura.
They really are just like animals, there's no difference between them.
However, this is only the appearance. As part of Shen Hui's body, Raven possesses a portion of the power fed back from the Death World.
With a single thought from Shen Hui, the Raven transformed into a wisp of black mist and vanished, only to reassemble itself ahead.
It flapped its wings again and landed on Shen Hui's shoulder.
With a final, gentle leap, it landed on the arm, transformed back into a ball of light, and completely disappeared into the arm.
It then reappeared, transforming from a ball of light into a black raven, and detached itself to become Raven.
Shen Hui felt there was no need to hide the Raven.
There's no way to tell him apart from others based on his appearance.
Moreover, he is a part of Shen Hui himself, and might play an unexpected role when necessary.
It's quite good, at least in terms of vigilance.
Moreover, the wisdom and knowledge contained within the Raven does not belong to Shen Hui, so Shen Hui does not know exactly what it possesses.
This is wisdom from Yog-Sothoth, Shen Hui felt it was worth exploring; perhaps there would be unexpected gains.
As for the Raven outside, they can just be kept as pets.
Shen Hui came from the bedroom to the living room.
That night.
Look out at the distant sky through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows.
Thick, dark clouds loomed overhead, resembling towering mountains or massive ocean waves, seemingly about to merge with the earth.
There was no starlight.
However, the moonlight seemed exceptionally strong tonight; its pale rays even managed to penetrate some gaps in the dark clouds.
It feels fragmented.
The air was stuffy, and looking at the dark clouds gave me a sense of oppression, making it hard to breathe.
Is it going to rain heavily?
Shen Hui muttered to himself.
The Death World was being built from the bright afternoon sun until now, when it's already evening.
The weather changes just like a woman's ever-changing face.
"But rain is good."
Shen Hui sat cross-legged in front of the French windows, gazing into the distance, letting his thoughts wander.
Rain gives Shen Hui a sense of relaxation and tranquility.
Shen Hui hadn't felt this way in a long time.
The Raven on my shoulder cawed and huddled there.
Just then, Shen Hui's phone rang.
Shen Hui picked it up and saw that it was a call from Qingxue.
"Shen Hui, what are you doing?"
"What's wrong?"
Are you free tomorrow?
Shen Hui thought about it and realized that there was indeed nothing planned for tomorrow.
"Of course, is this a way of asking me out?"
"I guess so. Remember when I told you to come back to school sometime? I'm free tomorrow, how about we go together?"
"Okay, tomorrow I'll... sizzle... sizzle..."
Just as Shen Hui was about to tell Qingxue that he would go see her tomorrow...
Suddenly, a crackling sound came from the phone, indicating a poor signal.
At the same time, a bolt of lightning illuminated the sky, turning everything around into a blinding white.
A thunderclap followed, echoing throughout the heavens and earth.
The phone line was completely filled with static.
Looking out the window at the Shen Hui from a high floor, I also noticed that the light from the streetlights in the distance had all disappeared from the sky.
The whole city seems to have lost power.
Shen Hui suddenly had a bad feeling. The Raven on his shoulder also cawed and stood up.
Just then, another bolt of lightning struck.
It was as bright as day, and this time I wasn't distracted by the phone; I just looked out the window at the Shen Hui.
But then he suddenly fixed his gaze on the dark clouds in the sky.
Under the flash of lightning, the thick, dark clouds became clear and transparent.
The transparency of the light even revealed the moon, which had been hidden behind the dark clouds.
The moon shone with an intense radiance, so bright it was a deathly white.
What happened next was even more unusual.
A black line appeared in the moon, curving downwards in the middle while remaining stationary at both ends.
It looks like the moon is smiling!
The Raven perched on Shen Hui's shoulder also stared intently at the unusual moon in the sky, its eyes flashing with countless lights.
All of this came quickly and disappeared quickly, almost in the blink of an eye.
As the deafening thunder subsided, the flash of lightning vanished completely.
The sky once again fell into a deathly, oppressive blackness; the dark clouds turned into heavy shadows, and the moon disappeared.
For a fleeting moment, Shen Hui wondered if he was seeing things.
The streetlights ahead shone brightly again, illuminating the sky.
The static from the still-connected phone disappeared, and everything returned to normal. Qingxue's voice came through again.
"Hello? Hello? Shen Hui, what did you just say? Why did the signal drop?"
Hearing Qingxue's voice, Shen Hui hurriedly asked, "You know about the lightning and thunder just now, right?"
"I know, it was quite loud and a bit scary. The lack of signal earlier was probably related to that, right?"
"Where are you? Did you see the sky outside just now? That moon!"
Hearing Shen Hui's somewhat urgent tone, Qingxue was a little confused, but she still answered Shen Hui.
"I'm on my way home, and there's no moon at all. With such thick clouds, how can I see it?"
Hearing Qingxue's words, Shen Hui was stunned. Could what he had just seen have been a hallucination?
No, impossible!
The Raven saw it too, there's no mistake!
Just as Shen Hui was thinking, lightning struck again.
Having anticipated this, Shen Hui immediately pinpointed the location of the moon, which was hiding behind the dark clouds.
Lightning ripped through the night sky, illuminating everything.
The smiling full moon reappeared before Shen Hui's eyes.
Moreover, it's different now. Not only is there a smile, but above the black line of that smile, two more circles appear, one on the left and one on the right, each containing a black dot.
Those are eyes, the location of the eyes!
Shen Hui and the Raven on his shoulder both stared intently at the smiling moon.
You absolutely did not read it wrong!
At this moment, the moon seemed to sense Shen Hui Shen Hui's presence and looked in his direction.
An intense gaze, carrying a terrifying sense of oppression, swept in from all directions like a tidal wave.
At this moment, Shen Hui's sense of crisis reached its peak.
Instinctively, the Creator Form was activated, and mist immediately churned and appeared from the surrounding space.
The Raven on his shoulder did not merge into Shen Hui's body; instead, its wings flipped and transformed into orbs of light.
It's like eyes are growing out of the Raven's body.
Through the vision transmitted from the Raven, Shen Hui was astonished to discover that the rules of the world were intertwined around the full moon.
There exists another world there.
However, it does not exist in their world, but is hidden in a deeper layer, in a space different from theirs.
The moon, on the other hand, is imbued with divinity.
It's as if someone is summoning this world, wanting it to descend, or wanting certain beings within it to manifest.
Shen Hui immediately thought of the Giant God Cult's previous summoning of Colossal Creature World.
Could it be that yet another church with beliefs in other races or other worlds has appeared?
However, the overwhelming pressure was like a mountain, making it hard for Shen Hui to breathe and leaving him no time to think.
But just as that gaze fell entirely on Shen Hui, reaching its peak...
Gazing at the Shen Hui moon through the thick black fog, it was as if I were seeing something terrifying.
The moon was eroded by dark energy, forming a shape similar to a palm, emitting a blinding light that quickly dimmed.
The curved smile straightened, and the black dots in his eyes moved to the far left and right, turning him into a cross-eyed person.
The intense feeling of being stared at vanished without a trace.
Shen Hui was dumbfounded, but a small part of Shen Hui consciousness remained.
That is, the Raven flying nearby subconsciously uttered a hoarse and awkward sound:
"When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gives you a huge slap in the face, yelling, 'Look at your shit!'"
