Awakening
"President, this is the place, but... it seems there's nothing here."
The World Association members were gathering in the dead-end alleyway where Shen Hui and his group had been standing.
A member of the World Association spoke respectfully to Chi Yan.
Chi Yan looked around the closed passage and then around again, but didn't find anything unusual.
"Are you sure you haven't come to the wrong place? There's not a single trace here."
"This..."
Those questioned by Chi Yan became increasingly insecure.
"President, as soon as that last spatial fluctuation disappeared, everyone nearby came looking for us immediately."
"If we haven't all made a mistake... then we've definitely been looking in this direction."
Upon hearing this answer, Chi Yan walked forward and came to the corner.
He squatted down when he saw the broken brick, touched it with his hand, and then stood up.
"Such an obvious commotion would definitely leave a trace."
"But we can't find it now; it might have been deliberately covered up. Everyone should search again, and if there's no result, return to the group."
"Since this matter hasn't caused any disturbance, let's put it aside for now."
"Yes, President!"
The members of the World Association left one by one, leaving only Chi Yan in the end.
Chi Yan stood there for a while, then left.
In the clean white room, beautiful landscape paintings hang on the walls, elegant mahogany chairs are arranged together, and pots of carefully trimmed green plants are placed on the balcony.
Birds are chirping outside, and soft sunlight streams through the window, falling on the bed.
Shen Hui slowly opened his eyes, the physical pain and mental despondency receding like the tide.
Shen Hui felt a sense of renewal, as if he had been given a new lease on life.
However, Shen Hui paid no attention to these things, nor did he pay attention to the unfamiliar environment he was in.
Instead, fragmented memories from before appeared in my mind.
Shen Hui frowned, trying hard to recall.
After I experienced a more real arrival in the Death World, my memories became blurred.
"I... the Death World has gone out of control... Cthulhu seems to have been awakened."
"No... that's not the real Cthulhu, just a fragment of consciousness that has awakened..."
Shen Hui's memories of this matter gradually became clearer.
That terrifying wave that threatened to engulf the world, that monstrous beast that rode the wave to wreak havoc and devour everything.
Containing a portion of Cthulhu's power, he is the Transcendent embodiment of destruction and violence— the Father of Sharks.
"Cthulhu can actually descend in Transcendent form!"
Shen Hui never imagined that his Death World could develop to this point on its own.
However, my memories of what happened afterward remain hazy.
Then... it seems like Zhiyue came to help me.
Shen Hui vaguely remembered that the person covered in holy light and with wings was undoubtedly Zhiyue in her Creation Form.
But what happened next?
"Oh, right, Qingxue!"
Shen Hui suddenly realized something, and an image flashed through his mind: Qingxue covered in blood in his arms.
"She was fine before, she was fine before, but... herself... herself..."
Shen Hui's thoughts were a bit jumbled, but he knew that Qingxue's appearance seemed to be related to him.
"Could it be... that I killed him myself...?"
Just as Shen Hui was lost in thought, the door to the room was pushed open.
With short hair, a heroic air, and a cool demeanor Leng Zimeng walked in.
"You're awake."
Shen Hui looked at the other person; this was the person who had been with Huang Lingheng back then.
His eyes narrowed instantly; the surrounding space fluctuated, and thick fog churned, as if Death World was about to unfold.
Upon seeing Shen Hui's movements, Leng Zimeng's face immediately showed a panicked expression and deep fear.
She didn't want to face that unknown fear again.
"No, I meant no harm. It's over. Everything is over. Everyone's fine. I'm here to apologize!"
Leng Zimeng quickly spoke up.
Shen Hui still hasn't taken back the Death World, but he hasn't continued to expand it either.
Instead, he asked with a hint of uncertainty, "Where is Qingxue?"
"You do not know?"
Leng Zimeng subconsciously asked a question, then quickly spoke up as if she had just remembered something.
"She's fine, her vital signs are all normal, she's just still unconscious. She's in another ward, you can go see her anytime."
Shen Hui still hadn't reclaimed the Death World; instead, he remained extremely vigilant.
But at that moment, Zhiyue, her face slightly pale, walked in from outside the door.
"She's right, it's safe here, don't worry."
Shen Hui breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Zhiyue was still there.
The unfolding Death World has been revealed, and the hostility has decreased considerably.
Leng Zimeng looked at Zhiyue: "You should continue to rest."
Zhiyue: "And then watch this place fall and be contaminated again?"
Shen Hui looked at Zhiyue; she was in a very bad mental state.
"What's wrong with you?"
Zhiyue smiled helplessly, "Don't worry about me. Just ask me whatever you have questions, and you'll know the answer later."
Shen Hui nodded, looked at Leng Zimeng, and asked a series of questions.
"What's your name? Are you also a member of the Tarot Club? What happened next? Where is this place? And what about Huang Lingheng...?"
Leng Zimeng began to answer Shen Hui's questions one by one, and Zhiyue then supplemented her answers with what she knew.
"My name is Leng Zimeng. I am indeed a member of the Tarot Club, and the last one in the 23rd world. After that..."
Soon, the vague memories in Shen Hui's mind began to become clearer.
When it comes to Zhiyue coming to help him, she is corrupted by the power of the Death World.
And then, in the end, Qingxue somehow hugged herself and woke her up from the chaos, madness, and Unspeakable.
His expression darkened considerably.
Thankfully, we now know they're all alright.
"Take me to see Qingxue."
"Um."
Shen Hui arrived at Qingxue's hospital room. She was lying quietly on the bed, and on the surface, there was nothing unusual about her; she just looked like she was asleep.
Unexpectedly, Qingxue ended up being hurt by herself.
My own world is indeed very dangerous.
Without disturbing him further, I returned to Shen Hui's hospital room.
Shen Hui looked at Zhiyue apologetically. "I'm sorry, you came to help me, and I ended up hurting you."
Zhiyue sighed, "If I had come earlier, maybe none of this would have happened."
"I... it's my fault this time... I'm the one who isolated that area."
Like a primary school student making a mistake, Leng Zimeng admitted that the root of the problem still lay with her.
"And then?" Shen Hui continued to ask.
"The Fool appeared, bringing the Hermit with him, and safely and discreetly escorted us back."
Leng Zimeng replied that if the Fool hadn't come, they would probably be waiting for interrogation at the World Association by now.
"And now, what about the Fool?"
Shen Hui asked.
"They left. They brought it back to us and then left."
"Where is Huang Lingheng? Is he dead?"
"He's not dead, but right now... it's probably worse than death."
