A+ Rating, the Ghost Story World Terrifies Everyone
All the teachers observing and rating the worlds soon noticed Shen Hui's Death World.
They all gathered around it at once.
"Is this the world that was born from that student named Shen Hui?"
Shen Hui had left a deep impression on everyone. After all, it was a world only one kilometer across that could not give rise to life. It was hard to forget even if they wanted to.
"That's right! It's his world. A world this small can't give rise to life, so how did he manage to create a Hero Unit?"
"And don't you think... his world is far too strange?"
In the world they were observing, a deadwood forest loomed faintly within the pitch-black space.
There wasn't a trace of life. It looked as though it were made of paper, giving off an unusual sense of terror.
There was a withered well in the deadwood forest.
Inside the well, a disheveled woman kept climbing the jagged walls with her fingers.
With each step she climbed, a grating sound rang out, like fingernails scraping against the well's walls.
The sound made everyone's hearts race with unease.
All ten of the woman's fingers had been scraped raw, but she paid it no mind and continued climbing.
"W-what kind of being did he create? He actually managed to create something using death's negative energy!"
"He's taking a completely unconventional path. He skipped modifying the world and letting ordinary creatures evolve, and instead used death's negative energy to create a Hero directly!"
"Do you think this deserves an A+ rating?"
"No, you can't judge it on that alone. Maybe he just got lucky and happened to make something in his world."
"To evolve a complete world and keep developing, you need enough creatures."
"And his world is only one kilometer across. How far do you think his potential can take him?"
"Teacher, I still think this kind of innovation deserves at least an A."
"I agree. You could say he's created an entirely new world-view! Even an S rating wouldn't be too much."
"Every path has already been tested. Do you really think this one can work?"
All the teachers argued without reaching a conclusion.
Just then, the principal walked in from outside.
"What are you all arguing about?"
The teachers immediately reported Shen Hui's world to him.
"Oh! What? There's actually a world this strange?"
The principal's eyes lit up as he listened.
"This could be the creation of a whole new world-view. If this young man named Shen Hui has mastered these rules, then his future potential is limitless!"
"I say we let him give it a proper try and continue down his own path. He might create an entirely new world. Let's give him an A+ rating too."
"But, Principal..."
"Come now, there's no 'but.' This alone is innovative enough to deserve that rating. Everyone, you need to take the long view."
"Yes, Principal."
In the hall, after Shen Hui and the others showed the teachers projections of their respective worlds,
a teacher immediately stepped onto the platform to tell them about the next test.
"Students, today's test is about observing the progress and creativity of your worlds."
"Rankings are certainly important, but the combat assessment is in five days, and that's even more important."
"So when the results come out later, don't lose heart. Keep working even harder."
Shen Hui nodded, agreeing with the teacher.
A world's development did not represent everything.
What mattered most was its combat strength.
As long as a world had powerful combat strength, it could devour other worlds and strengthen itself.
By fighting to sustain itself, it could grow rapidly.
Some people focused too much on developing their worlds and neglected their creatures' combat strength.
As a result, they could only sell resources, turning their worlds into Resource Worlds.
Strength ruled everything. In the end, they would become vassal worlds of powerful worlds.
The other students listened without taking it to heart.
Instead, they started discussing the rankings.
"Goddess Qingxue will definitely come first this time. She got such a huge head start on us!"
"Yeah, I just hope to make the top ten. Then I'll get some decent resources to develop my world."
"I doubt it, but at least we won't come last. Hahaha."
"Right? We don't even need to guess who's coming last this time."
As they spoke, they all turned to look at where Shen Hui was sitting.
Shen Hui glanced at them too, but his expression remained calm, without the slightest reaction.
Shen Hui had created a Hero Unit outright. There was no way he could come last.
Still, Shen Hui couldn't be sure exactly what place he would get.
His world-view hadn't really developed yet. He had only one Eldritch Hero.
Soon, the teachers sent word.
"Students, all the world assessment results are in."
Everyone grew excited at the announcement, eager to see how they had ranked.
They surged toward the ranking display.
A huge screen hung on the wall there, showing everyone's world ratings.
"Hahaha, I got a B+ rating, 54th place!"
"Damn, I only got a C! No way!"
"Look at first place! Just as expected, it's Goddess Qingxue, with an A+ rating!"
"Wait, someone else is tied with Qingxue. They got an A+ too."
"Shen Hui... That name-he's the owner of that useless world that can't give rise to life!"
"Holy crap! No way! Is this a bug? How did he get an A+ rating?"
"Can't his world not give rise to any life? How could he get a rating? Shouldn't he have been eliminated outright?"
But then the images on the screen changed.
They became scenes from each person's world.
Some had barren worlds, but tender green grass had already begun to sprout.
Some had Icefield Worlds, where creatures covered in fur, resembling human babies, already existed.
When they looked at Shen Hui's world, though, it was unlike any of theirs.
In the lifeless, chilly, gray world stood a small deadwood forest.
A disheveled woman sat beside a withered well in the middle.
Just looking at the scene in this world made them feel uneasy, gripped by an inexplicable sense of fear.
The next moment, the woman in that world suddenly moved.
She started walking toward the front, toward the image displayed on the screen.
Her figure drew closer and closer to the image, growing larger and larger.
Her body began to flicker repeatedly.
In the next instant, a face hidden behind her hair teleported right to the front.
It completely covered the screen!
Quite a few people screamed in fright at the sudden scene.
Some of the girls were scared to tears!
