The War Escalates
In a secluded spot within the Highborne camp, the Shadow Hunter gathered, having successfully disrupted the elves' supply lines.
"Alright, brothers, our mission is complete, time to retreat," the Shadow Hunter captain said to the assembled Shadow Hunter.
"Our darling is burning fiercely," a Shadow Hunter said.
"We can use the cover of the fire and the shadows to kill their leader," the young Shadow Hunter said.
The other Shadow Hunter were stunned by this audacious plan.
This plan carries both great risks and rewards. If successful, the elves will be leaderless, and the Forest Troll ' revenge plan will have a much higher chance of success.
But failure would cost them their lives, and they would also face the wrath of the elves.
The Shadow Hunter captain thought for a moment and then made a decision.
"I am going to assassinate the leader of the elves. Those who want to come with me, stand by my side. Those who don't, begin the evacuation according to General Kaostin's plan."
After Kaostin finished speaking, he waited for the others to respond.
The Shadow Hunter quickly split into two groups: one group planned to assassinate the Highborne leadership with Kaostin, while the other group decided to retreat because the mission was too dangerous.
They were scouts, but they weren't stupid; they would do their best to complete the tasks set by the chief, even at the cost of their lives.
But since their mission was already complete, there was no need for them to work so hard anymore.
"Okay, now that the choice has been made."
"We'll continue the mission now. You all begin your evacuation." The Shadow Hunter captain finished speaking and then led the way, disappearing into the shadows.
The other Shadow Hunter also disappeared into the shadows and split into two groups: one group continued the mission with their captain, while the other group began to retreat.
"Captain, can we really succeed in assassinating the elven leadership?" a Shadow Hunter asked.
The Shadow Hunter moved swiftly through the shadows, beginning their search of each Highborne tent.
"Once you've made a choice, do it without thinking about the consequences. You've already stepped into the abyss, so don't think about how to get out."
The Shadow Hunter captain did not answer, but instead uttered the following words.
"We will definitely succeed!" The young Shadow Hunter who proposed the assassination plan answered that question.
"You're too young, kid," the Shadow Hunter retorted.
"So what if I'm young?" the young Shadow Hunter said dismissively.
"Having drive is a good thing, but decisions made under the influence of drive can sometimes come at a terrible price," said an older Shadow Hunter.
"Alright, we can talk about this after the mission is over. Our first target is here."
The Shadow Hunter captain stopped, and the rest of the Shadow Hunter followed suit, stopping near a tent.
Amani's Shadow Hunter selected only five people to carry out this mission.
Their small numbers greatly enhanced their stealth, but their power paled in comparison to the vast numbers of Highborne.
The Shadow Hunter spotted their target through the cracks in the tent.
An old elf, who was the noble representative appointed by Dath'Remar.
He's currently dealing with the Highborne's supply problem, and he's clutching his dwindling hair in worry.
A great fire severely damaged the Highborne's supplies, and he was racking his brains about how to deal with it.
The Shadow Hunter outside the tent looked at the old elf, at the pile of documents on the table and his frail body.
This perfectly matches their description of the elven high command.
The Shadow Hunter captain gave the order with his eyes, signaling the Shadow Hunter around him to sneak in and kill him.
The Shadow Hunter beside him began to act after receiving the command through his eyes.
The Shadow Hunter slipped into the tent under the cover of shadows.
The Shadow Hunter, who had slipped into the tent, drew his short blade and crept up behind the old nobleman.
The gleaming broken blade severed the old elf's neck.
The old nobleman died under mysterious circumstances, his blood soaking the documents on the table.
Having completed his mission, the Shadow Hunter severed the old elf's head and stuffed his loot into his animal-hide backpack.
Having done all this, the Shadow Hunter left the tent.
"Mission complete, Captain," said the Shadow Hunter, having finished the mission.
"Alright, let's move on to the next target," said the Shadow Hunter captain.
The Shadow Hunter continued their search for targets within the Highborne camp.
The scene shifts to the front lines.
Alan Theron stopped the other Highborne soldiers who wanted to pursue them and ordered all soldiers to rest on the spot and build a defensive line.
Kaostin led the Forest Troll into the forest.
"Lord Kaostin, the elves haven't followed us." The Forest Troll at the back of the group ran to the front and told Kaostin.
"It seems my actions did not prompt them to order a pursuit."
"Come on, Warrior, let's go again."
"I'm going to dance with Bwonsamdi again," Kaostin said, adding that he had met an interesting opponent.
Other Forest Troll only fight face-to-face, and in Kaostin's view, the art of war should not be so monotonous, so Kaostin has never been able to find a worthy opponent.
Daren Theron's unusual behavior, in the eyes of the Troll, piqued Kaostin's interest.
The Forest Troll below the field also agreed; they were all glorious Amani Warrior.
Kaostin led his troops back to the attack site.
Prepare to launch another attack.
Daren Theron has already commanded the Highborne Warrior to build their defensive line, and the wounded have been transferred there.
"Thump, thump, thump." A vibrating sound came from the forest.
"Quick! Get ready, the Troll are coming again!" Daren Theron shouted.
Troll shadows began to appear in the forest, and the first Troll emerged from the woods.
Then more and more Troll emerged from the forest, Troll as they charged toward the elves' defenses.
Their eyes were glowing red; they had clearly descended into a frenzy.
In their berserk state, they gained immense offensive power, but they also lost most of their consciousness, leaving only basic discernment.
In its berserk state, the Forest Troll fought fearlessly, directly confronting the elves' defenses.
The Highborne mages also began casting spells, and powerful magic exploded within the Troll army, shattering many Troll with magical energy.
The Highborne Warrior also engaged the berserk Troll, Troll power they could not withstand; many Warrior fell under the Troll ' axes.
"Hold on! We need to buy time for the mage!" With that, Daren Theron killed a berserk Troll that had come close to him.
Kaostin also set his sights on the elf who was wearing general's armor and giving orders.
"Your opponent is me! The elf!" Kaostin confronted his rival.
