Had the Simp Turned the Tables?
Just like that, Huo Wu's Repelling Fire Ring was gone. The sound had been like something breaking.
Huo Wu took a step back. For the first time, someone had broken her Repelling Fire Ring.
And it was Feng Xiaotian, who had yet to become a Soul Ancestor. But his Soul Power wasn't more than ten levels higher than hers, so how had he broken it?
In the instant Huo Wu lost her composure, a barrage of impacts rang out. The other members of Godwind Academy's team had all moved at the same time as Feng Xiaotian.
As for Huo Wushuang, whom Feng Xiaotian had sent flying at the start, he was in terrible shape. His body was wracked with unbearable pain, but he had no choice but to keep fighting.
The intense pain still affected Huo Wushuang, though. He couldn't even execute his Soul Skills properly.
"What Soul Skill was that?"
"That wasn't a Soul Skill, was it?"
Every Soul Master knew that using a Soul Skill required a connection to a Soul Ring, and that connection was visible when the skill was used. But after using his second Soul Skill, Feng Xiaotian had used that move without a sound.
Of course, there were exceptions to everything.
"That was Feng Xiaotian's third Soul Skill, wasn't it? So strong!"
Only those who were familiar with Feng Xiaotian or knew of him realized that it wasn't his third Soul Skill.
At that moment, only one phrase filled the minds of those on Godwind Academy's team: Self-Created Soul Skill.
Cheng Cheng also thought, Sigh... If Feng Xiaotian had devoted all his effort to cultivating his Soul Power, he should have reached at least the Soul Ancestor rank by now!
Feng He shook his head helplessly. "Qingyang, your son really is outstanding. At just twenty years old, he's created two Self-Created Soul Skills, each more powerful than the last. It seems I really am no longer qualified to guide him."
There was absolutely no question about the talent of someone who created a Soul Skill.
Feng Xiaotian had even created two. Could creating Soul Skills really be that easy?
But anyone familiar with the process by which Feng Xiaotian had created his Soul Skills knew it was anything but easy.
The match between Godwind Academy and Blazing Fire Academy was still going, but there no longer seemed to be much suspense.
Huo Wu recovered and rejoined the fight, but she no longer had the confidence she had shown before.
Blazing Fire Academy was driven back at every turn. The fighting lasted less than another minute, and Huo Wu was the only one left standing on the field.
Feng Xiaotian came up to Huo Wu. "Huo Wu, you've lost."
Huo Wu looked at Feng Xiaotian, whom she had never truly understood. "Is this your real strength?"
"I suppose it just about counts," Feng Xiaotian said.
Huo Wu stared. "Just about?"
"Why didn't you show me your strength before?" Huo Wu asked.
"Because I didn't want to hurt you!" Feng Xiaotian said.
"You didn't want to hurt me?" Huo Wu felt somewhat helpless. "I understand. Thank you for showing me the gap between us."
"There's no need to thank me," Feng Xiaotian replied.
Huo Wu said, "Before I concede, can you tell me what level your Soul Power is now, and what Soul Skill you just used?"
Feng Xiaotian concealed nothing. "That was my Self-Created Soul Skill. I call it Wolf Fang Fist. As for my Soul Power, I've just reached level forty."
"Level forty?" Huo Wu froze for a moment. After a long while, she finally said, "We concede!"
The moment Huo Wu said those words, tears finally spilled from her eyes.
Perhaps not wanting anyone to notice, she quickly turned and left.
But how could that escape Feng Xiaotian's eyes? Suddenly, Feng Xiaotian felt a pang of discomfort. He couldn't stand seeing women cry, especially such a beautiful goddess.
Was I going too far? Was it wrong to bully a fifteen-year-old girl?
Was I targeting Huo Wu too much?
Then Feng Xiaotian shook his head. This doesn't count as targeting her. This should count as raising a goddess, shouldn't it? I can't keep simping for her forever.
But this time, he seemed to have really hurt Huo Wu. He had directly broken her third Soul Skill, the one she was currently proudest of and considered useful.
It was a considerable blow to Huo Wu.
So Feng Xiaotian immediately called out, "Little Sister Huo Wu, don't tell me you're crying."
Huo Wu raised a hand and touched her tears, then looked back at Feng Xiaotian. "Of course not. Why would I cry?"
"Good. If you cried, would you still be Huo Wu? Although I've won this time, I'm already twenty, and I had Innate Full Soul Power. Little Sister Huo Wu, you're only fifteen. If you had five more years, could you defeat me as I am now?" Feng Xiaotian said.
Huo Wu's confidence had been completely shattered, but Feng Xiaotian's words visibly lifted her spirits.
"Big Brother Feng, you're... you're right. I understand. Next time, I'll definitely defeat you. But if we fight again, please make sure you use your full strength," Huo Wu said seriously.
"I will!"
Hearing Huo Wu address him that way, Feng Xiaotian smiled. Did this count as changing her?
Or had he shed his image as a simp in front of Huo Wu?
Huo Wu regained her confidence and immediately went to help the injured Huo Wushuang and the others up. Feng Xiaotian, meanwhile, had performed so well that his six teammates lifted him high into the air.
All of them, including the three female teammates, tossed him up together.
With no suspense, Godwind Academy took first place in this Advanced Soul Master Tournament, winning all four of its matches.
Elephant Armor Academy came fifth, but ranking the teams from second to fourth was a little more difficult.
Thunderclap, Skywater Academy, and Blazing Fire had all finished with two wins and two losses.
Thunderclap had beaten Blazing Fire, Blazing Fire had beaten Skywater Academy, and Skywater Academy had beaten Thunderclap.
Each had won and lost, so it was difficult to decide who should be ranked second and third.
After a discussion, everyone agreed that the three academies would share second place. None of the three teams would be punished, and naturally, none would receive a reward either.
As for Elephant Armor Academy, it could only hand over ten thousand Gold Soul Coins to Godwind Academy.
At least Elephant Armor Academy belonged to the Elephant Armor Sect, so it wasn't short of ten thousand Gold Soul Coins.
After receiving the money, Feng Xiaotian immediately divided it up. Each of the six teammates who had fought received a thousand.
The six who hadn't fought received five hundred Gold Soul Coins each. After all, they were teammates. Even if they hadn't competed, they were still part of the team and had to get a share.
The remaining thousand would be used for a celebratory meal once they returned to Godwind Academy.
That evening, a social gathering was held at Blazing Fire Academy to review what they had learned from the tournament.
Perhaps because Elephant Armor Academy had lost so badly, it didn't attend this time and left as soon as the tournament ended.
As the gathering was drawing to a close, Huo Wu went straight to Feng Xiaotian. "Big Brother Feng, I'll be going with you to Godwind City for the next three months."
The moment Huo Wu said that, the people around them fell silent.
She was going to Godwind City for three months?
Hadn't it always been Feng Xiaotian who came to Blazing Fire to see Huo Wu?
Had their roles reversed because Feng Xiaotian was so strong?
Shui Yue'er immediately turned to Shui Bing'er beside her. "Sister, how about I go with you to Godwind City and have some fun for a while?"
Shui Bing'er's pretty face flushed slightly. "You little girl, all you think about is having fun. If we hadn't been lucky this time, we'd have come last, and you're still thinking about playing? We need to cultivate hard when we get back!"
"Oh..." Shui Yue'er replied, feeling a little aggrieved.
Shui Bing'er glanced awkwardly at Feng Xiaotian and Huo Wu, a complicated look on her face. After all, who didn't like someone outstanding?
