"Cough, cough, uh, uh." Jason took two seconds to reactivate his Battle-qi shield, look around, and lock onto his target again.
Tohuti on the other side was also in bad shape, but fortunately, the orc priest was not just a simple mage and had good physical fitness, so he recovered quickly and cast Earth Guardian Saint Armor again.
Both were knocked out of the battle and were now a short distance apart.
They exchanged a glance, Tohuti quickly moved towards the battle, while Jason flashed to his side and slashed down with his sword.
A vibrant green light enveloped Jason. Edicts of Life excels in defense, binding, and soul manipulation; this light was Tohuti's soul attack. As a peak Saint Magus, few would employ such a simple and direct "Spiritual Energy Shock."
Jason unleashed his Power of Death, attempting to weaken his opponent's attack.
The green light dissipated considerably under the clash of the Power of Death, but some still managed to penetrate Jason's Sea of Souls.
The green light, upon entering the Sea of Souls, transformed into a green arrow that shot straight towards the spherical soul.
Jason channeled his Divine Power, transforming it into a golden tide that continuously washed away the green arrows, finally dissolving them before they struck the spherical soul.
If Jason couldn't even intercept a casual strike, Edward wouldn't have sent him to restrain Tohuti.
Jason didn't dare to increase his speed to the maximum again, instead hovering around his opponent, constantly attacking and ramming. After a few moves, Jason realized that his attacks seemed ineffective; he couldn't even touch the opponent's Divine Artifact artifact cloak, Earth Guardian Saint Armor showed no signs of breaking.
Jason has two attack methods: one is to charge directly using speed and defense, and the other is to use the Edicts of Death to launch a soul attack and seize the opponent's moment of distraction to break through the opponent's defense with "the Profound Mysteries of Ice".
Tohuti's soul was powerful, rendering the latter attack completely ineffective.
Seeing this, Jason abandoned his attack and instead relied solely on ramming, constantly pushing the enemy away from the main battle.
Tohuti a little frustrated. He had never heard of such a Saint-level in the Rhine Empire. Its speed and defense were ridiculously strong. Although it couldn't hurt him, Tohuti knew that his abilities could only be maximized when he stayed in the battle group.
Ignoring the opponent's attack for the time being, Tohuti his breath and began to cast a spell. If he didn't quickly deal with this guy, the entire Saint-level of the Golden Royal Court would be wiped out in no time.
Upon seeing this, Jason also began to silently chant incantations.
Essence of the Earth converged, and a giant, over ten meters tall and yellowish-brown, appeared before Tohuti. It then quickly solidified into a three-meter-tall Essence of the Earth puppet, "Earth Guardian," a forbidden Earth Element spell.
A Water Element dragon appeared before Jason, then quickly transformed into an ice dragon of icy blue color.
"Bastard!" Tohuti cursed, Jason was just too difficult to deal with.
The ice dragon and the Essence of the Earth were actually entangled together.
Blue Iceflower swirled around Jason, and he suddenly wondered if the "Profound Mysteries of Ice" within the Water Profound Mystery might have a restraining effect on Tohuti's Life Magic.
However, before Jason could confirm his suspicions, a terrifying energy burst forth from a distance that could be felt even from a kilometer away.
Everyone knew that the pillar of the Golden Royal Court had appeared.
Jason once again increased his speed to the maximum, and despite Tohuti's soul attack and shockwave, he knocked his opponent away.
After Jason recovered briefly, he was able to see the shadows in the distance clearly.
It was a three-meter-tall Metal Puppet!
"Deathgod Golem," Jason thought of the term from the original work. He was a little worried about whether the mysterious ancestor of the Rhine Clan could stop this puppet, after all, a high-quality Deathgod Golem could fight against a weaker Highgod head-on.
However, Jason didn't see anyone controlling the puppet; logically, the controller of the Deathgod Golem shouldn't have gone too far.
The Deathgod Golem is able to contend with Deity-level with its simple metal body and energy. The powerful energy it emits is extremely terrifying and can be clearly felt even from nearly a thousand meters away.
This greatly boosted the morale of the orcs and barbarian Saint-level amidst the chaos of battle.
Just as the puppet was about to crash into the battle, a bolt of lightning struck its chest, knocking it to the ground.
A petite figure appeared in the sky.
"Blood-colored Golem comparable to Midgod, but unfortunately, after your modifications, its power has been reduced by half."
Jason looked up and realized that the figure in the sky must be the ancestor of the Rhine Clan; he hadn't expected it to be a woman.
Judging from her words, this puppet is probably not the highest grade, and she herself is likely Midgod. As for "Blood-colored Golem," that's probably a special name used by the Abyss.
"Lord Beirut will not let you get away with attacking the creatures of the Yulan Continent." The voice came from the puppet. It seems that the orcs had modified the puppet to house the controller in order to prevent hostile forces from killing the puppet's controller.
"No, not at all." The girl said easily, "Lord Beirut only forbids the Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend from actively killing living beings on the Yulan Continent. We can defend ourselves, and it won't be me who hurts the enemy."
"Hurry up and deal with those people, then send in a few who are good at soul attacks!" the girl said to the Rhine Clan's Saint-level in the distance.
Without giving her a chance to wait, the Golden Royal Court was already on the verge of defeat. After the puppet was taken control, the dozen or so Saint-level of the Golden Royal Court lost their will to fight and most of them were killed. Only a few strong individuals managed to break through the encirclement and try to escape.
"Ancestors." Four Rhine Clan's Saint-level appeared before the girl.
"The controller inside is only at the Saint-level. Use soul attacks, and remember to attack together. This puppet has a weakening effect on soul attacks," the girl instructed.
The puppet tried to retaliate, but was once again struck to the ground by a bolt of lightning.
The girl's voice echoed in the minds of the other members of the Rhein Saint-level: "I used my divine sense to guide you in hunting down those fugitives."
The remaining Saint-level exchanged glances, then immediately split into several teams and chased after the enemy in different directions.
Jason was still Tohuti, Tohuti was trying to escape the battlefield, but Jason was keeping him occupied and he couldn't move an inch. Moreover, Tohti had also become enraged during this time, and he was recklessly unleashing all sorts of magic on Jason.
Unfortunately Tohuti's earth and life elemental magic were not fast, so he couldn't hit Jason was roaming around.
"We're here." Edward's voice rang out from behind, followed by a powerful blade of light that slashed directly at Tohuti's protective shield.
The powerful collision Tohuti flying backward; this attack was no weaker than Jason's initial "Barbaric Charge."
Then came Edward's figure and nine undead—a few of the undead around Edward were missing, it was unclear whether they had died in battle or were seriously wounded and sent back to the Netherworld.
"Leave this guy to me. You chase after him in that direction. He's an earth-attribute warrior. Don't let him escape to the Arctic Icefield. I'll give you some loot after the battle." Edward pointed in a direction.
Jason didn't linger and flew directly northeast.
The girl watched as the four Saint-level continuously unleashed soul attacks on the puppet until a scream rang out, after which all sound ceased.
Putting away the puppet, the girl looked north. "What's the name of the Saint-level cultivator who specializes in lightning and is the fastest among you?"
The four Saint-level experts exchanged glances. "That man is called Jason Rhein, he's not even fifty years old, and he only broke through to the Saint-level a little over ten years ago."
"That really is a genius."
