Background and History
Transmigration and Palace Life
Jason arrives in the Yulan Continent in Yulan Calendar year 9005, occupying the body of an overlooked eight-year-old prince who had recently suffered a head injury. He initially avoids acquaintances while assimilating the original owner’s memories. His knowledge of Coiling Dragon comes from reading the novel in middle school, leaving him familiar with major events but uncertain about many details 1.
Rather than contest the throne, he prioritizes cultivation and survival. His demonstrated aptitude wins him increased financial support from Maisiji and better treatment within the palace. At eighteen, however, his lack of practical fighting experience becomes apparent. Pressure to marry and leave an heir further encourages him to slip away from the palace 9 10 11.
Wilderness Training and Veronica
Jason begins with low-level magical beasts in the Sunset Mountain Range, steadily replacing theoretical strength with combat experience. His early encounters include human ambushers and a Green-Striped Giant Python, which he defeats by combining martial attacks with Soul Shock 12 13 15.
After a deadly confrontation involving an angel and a magician, he survives a spear wound through Temporary Undead Transformation. He retrieves the magician’s Interspatial Ring and rescues the severely mutilated Veronica, treating her injuries before escaping with her 21.
Jason eventually returns to Rhine City after more than six years away, introducing Veronica as his girlfriend. He frees Lisa and Aisha, the maids assigned to him, once he learns that both love other men. He and Veronica subsequently settle into cultivation around Bloodshadow Valley 30 33 65.
Family Life and Netherworld Trials
After centuries together, Jason and Veronica have a daughter, Monica. They raise her in Cangbai City rather than excessive luxury: Jason works in the city guard while Veronica teaches at a warrior academy. He also quietly promotes compulsory education and broader access to elemental-affinity testing 98.
In the Netherworld, a Highgod bandit leader enslaves his death and lightning clones through a Soul Seed. Delisha kills the controller less than three hours later, freeing him. Jason turns the experience into an advance in soul comprehension, then tests himself in dangerous underground territory 104 106 107 109.
His later travels include fighting the Bagdi Tribe, surviving the White Stone Mountain Castle mission, and training through arena matches in Skyfall City 124 130 137 138.
Intervention in the Yulan Continent
As Linley’s era approaches, Jason becomes increasingly involved with the Baruch family. He and Veronica assist its descendants, and Hogg later pledges lifelong repayment for Jason’s kindness 146 161.
Jason confronts the forces threatening Monica at the Radiant Temple, intervenes when O’Gavin attacks Dragonblood Castle, and kills Sadista with the aid of Sovereign’s Might. Before leaving the continent, he distributes Divine Sparks in exchange for a million years of protection for the Yulan Continent, particularly the Rhine Empire’s territory 157 172 183 185.
Clan Migration and Moonwheel City
Jason reunites with Veronica and Monica in Moon Pool City after a journey lasting more than six years. He hires two Five-Star Fiends for added protection and takes a safer, nine-year route back to the migrating Rhine Clan 210 211.
He later becomes lord of Moonwheel City and publicly aligns himself with Beirut. Maisiji handles the complicated redistribution of local interests, allowing Jason eventually to delegate most city affairs to him. Jason refuses to support the Eight Great Clans, while limiting his close ties with the Four Divine Beasts Clan chiefly to Linley’s Yulan lineage 221 222 224.
Bloodline Research and Soul Mutation
Working from Beirut’s research, Jason spends a thousand years studying Divine Beast bloodlines. He incorporates the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise bloodlines into his original body, deliberately using Black Tortoise’s baptism to obtain an Earth Element affinity and Divine Clone 227.
His later attempt at four-element soul mutation provokes attacks that he attributes to Hongmeng’s influence. Even Beirut briefly attempts to seize his Overgod Tokens before recognizing that he has been bewitched. Jason survives the confrontation surrounding the tokens, completes the mutation, and ultimately yields to a force acting equally on all his clones. After a farewell to his family, he vanishes before the gathered Sovereigns 248 249.
Appearance
- Early traveling appearance: At eighteen, ordinary leather armor, an iron-sheathed helmet, and matte-finished weapons make him look like an inexperienced fourth- or fifth-level warrior rather than a seventh-level prince 12.
- Thunderwing Angel form: His transformed Lightning Clone displays golden wings capable of projecting lightning 109 124.
- Combat signature: Blood-red light surrounding Weeping Blood, combined with lightning movement, makes him resemble a crimson meteor—the source of his Crimson Star Fiend title 225.
Personality
Jason is studious, cautious, and largely uninterested in political competition. He keeps a demanding training schedule for ten years, acknowledges his poor practical skills, and accepts instruction rather than defending his pride. He also rejects the idea that a routine cultivation bottleneck justifies risking his life 2 10 11 31.
His caution extends to his knowledge of the original story. He tries to avoid changes certain to derail Linley’s future unless his own core interests are involved, but refuses to endanger himself or his loved ones merely to preserve the plot. He conceals his strongest techniques and prefers to avoid unnecessary disputes while traveling 45 210.
Centuries of violence make him markedly more ruthless. His slaughter of the Bagdi Tribe is explicitly contrasted with his earlier refusal to harm uninvolved people. Nevertheless, he remains deeply attached to his family: concern for Veronica and Monica outweighs his usual secrecy during their reunion journey 124 210.
Abilities & Skills
Water Laws and Crystal Space
Jason’s water cultivation emphasizes defense, control, and the combination of multiple Profound Mysteries 40 42 167.
- Water Body Technique and Roundness: Their fusion greatly improves his defense and close combat; their complete fusion accompanies his Water Clone’s Midgod breakthrough 42 170.
- Ice manipulation: Freezes and slows opponents, and allows him to reshape Summon Water Dragon into an ice dragon 52 71.
- Crystal Space: Develops from a water shield combining binding, freezing, attack reflection, and confusion. Its early use is limited by his Lowgod divine power reserves 167 170 235.
Lightning Laws and Arc Flash
His lightning cultivation supplies mobility, physical attacks, and electrical restraint 110 138.
- Arc Flash: Creates electrical arcs and moves through them to approach, evade, or reposition around enemies 137 138 214.
- Restraint: Partial fusion with Electromagnetism gives the arcs an electric field capable of hindering opponents 138.
- Limits: Electromagnetism, Darkness Devouring, Water Elemental Essence, and Light Purification can interfere with the arcs 138.
- Lightning Strike: A straightforward mystery focused on physical attack 110.
Edicts of Death and Necromancy
Jason develops death techniques affecting both bodies and souls, alongside an army of contracted undead 39 40.
- Soul attacks and defense: Corrosion attacks flesh and soul; death-based defenses can wear down incoming soul attacks before they reach his soul’s core 40 94.
- Soul Possession: Initially controls only a newly advanced Saint; targets with even modest soul comprehension can escape that early version 107.
- Additional abilities: Acquires Final Destination, Withering, Soulfire, and Power of Death 138.
- Undead support: Summons scouts, archers, and Lumba for reconnaissance, ranged attacks, and combat 15 17 44.
- Temporary Undead Transformation: Enables him to survive an otherwise fatal spear wound long enough to recover with healing assistance 21.
Fate, Life, and Destruction
- Fate: Deflects physical attacks and accelerates his actions, allowing quicker retreat and saber strikes 197 214.
- Life: Improves recovery and soul defense; his Life Clone heals effectively despite poor direct combat ability. He later uses Life Law against the Black Ring Domain 71 170 225.
- Destruction: Provides another offensive attribute, but his talent is comparatively ordinary and his progress suffers from insufficient combat. Its Lowgod divine power reserves are exhausted during his battle with Pan 138 170.
Bloodline Engineering
Jason applies experimentation and knowledge from his previous life to bloodline transplantation 88.
- Early experiment: Gives his Death Clone’s left arm a Venomous Dragon bloodline and Peak Saint physical strength, but rejection forces him to amputate it 88.
- Thunderwing Angel: Develops an activation method that Delisha validates. The form grants a body as tough as a Midgod Artifact and powerful physical and soul recovery 98 124.
- Four Divine Beasts: Gains all four innate abilities through fusion and baptism; learns simultaneous activation, but remains far from fully combining them into Space-Time Chaos 227.
Annihilation Eye
Annihilation Eye reveals lines Jason can exploit to deliver devastating attacks. Its demonstration pierces the skin of Beirut’s exceptionally durable Sovereign Clone 183.
- Combined with his Sovereign Artifact, it is his strongest offensive technique 210.
- Can be used for no more than five seconds per day and requires at least three days of recovery afterward 210.
- Jason keeps it more secret than even his Sovereign Artifact 210.
Deathgod Golems and Formations
- Uses Deathgod Golems to escape pursuers, support clan battles, and buy time for breakthroughs 104 124 170.
- Can manufacture serviceable golems by following Lloyd’s method, but has little natural talent for formations or alchemy 210.
- A contract forbids sharing the complete manufacturing method, though he may recruit assistance to adjust formations for different materials 210.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Early saber set, shield, and chainmail — Commissioned for thirty thousand gold coins. The weapons incorporate lightning-compatible materials and Mithril for magical conduction 10.
- Interspatial Ring — Taken from the dead magician; contains considerable wealth and what appears to be a Saint-level Silver Dragon wing 21.
- Healing disc and spell scrolls — Support emergency healing, battlefield concealment, summons, and powerful ranged attacks 21 63.
- Earth-attribute divine artifact shield — Recovered after killing the Golden Royal Court Saint 63.
- Delisha’s gifts — A dark-blue blade and scale armor of Midgod Artifact grade 72.
- Blue Jade Fruit Tree — A contracted plant nurtured with water energy and life force; its beneficial effect increases as it grows 65 67.
- Mystic Ice Sword — Used against Pan; Jason gives Olivier another Highgod Artifact because he knows the sword originally belonged to Olivier in the source story 170 183.
- Weeping Blood — His blood-associated blade, used for powerful soul-targeting attacks and closely identified with his Crimson Star Fiend title 214 225.
- Frost Chill — A Sovereign Artifact revealed against Archmonde; also helps him survive the Black Ring Fiend’s Sovereign’s Might-enhanced attack 205 225.
- Ink Soul — Soul-defense equipment protecting him beyond his own ability to disperse incoming soul attacks 214.
- Fate artifacts — A golden glove and robe replace his Bible after Sadista destroys it 183 185.
- Heavenly Waterfall Pearl — Consumed to overcome a water-mystery fusion bottleneck 235.
- Overgod Tokens — Uses three kinds to induce the life, death, fate, and destruction soul mutation 248.
Relationships
- Veronica — Wife and longtime traveling companion. Jason rescues her after her mutilation; they later raise Monica together 21 98.
- Monica — Daughter. He deliberately avoids raising her in luxury, protects her during the Radiant Temple crisis, and later arranges her wedding 98 157 226.
- Maisiji Rhine — Father. Initially distant, he increasingly supports Jason’s cultivation and later manages Moonwheel City’s political affairs 1 10 221 224.
- Aidema Wumaier — Mother. Provides material security but little childhood attention, and pushes him toward court involvement and marriage 1 9 11.
- The empress — Treats Jason generously, provides his residence and attendants, and welcomes Veronica. Jason regards her as more motherly than Aidema 10 11 30.
- Yunika — Older sister and his closest sibling in childhood. He later visits her with Veronica 1 31.
- Barek and Lucy — Older brother and younger sister. Both give him gifts, but he avoids their succession rivalry 10 30.
- Delisha — Clan leader, mentor, and protector. Frees him from Soul Seed control; her care earns his genuine recognition of her leadership 81 106.
- Edward Rhine — Senior clansman and sparring partner whose death techniques and combat experience help test Jason’s progress 40 68.
- Beirut — Patron and research collaborator. Supports his position in Indigo Prefecture and supplies foundational bloodline research 221 227.
- Linley — Ally whose future Jason initially hopes to rely upon. Their connection develops into direct cooperation, including testing Jason’s preparations for soul mutation 45 247 248.
- Olivier — Initially a limited acquaintance; later Monica’s partner and husband 183 223 226.
- Linda — Contracted Moonshadow Flame Cat and longtime companion. Travels with him and later leads his family’s departure from the Yulan Continent 28 33 185.
- Clear Spring — Contracted companion whose soul connection reassures others during his long seclusion and later guides him to his family. He dissolves their contract when she marries Bebe 72 210 234.
- Lumba — Contracted Dark Warrior. Benefits from Jason’s growing soul strength and fights alongside him 39 44.
Trivia
- Jason estimates at the outset that Linley will not be born for roughly nine hundred years, making Saint-level longevity his first essential goal 1.
- His registered Two-Star Fiend rank significantly understates his strength after he becomes a Highgod 189.
- He accepts “Crimson Star Fiend” despite complaining about Monica’s naming skills 225.
- His departure affects every clone simultaneously; he explicitly pauses to say goodbye to his family before allowing it to happen 249.
