The first guests to visit Jason's courtyard after it was built were Edward and Dante.
Jason later learned that Dante was actually the seventh Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend born in the Violet-Eyed Family Clan on the Yulan Continent.
After the great war ended, only five Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend were left on the Yulan Continent. It is unclear how many of them were at the Deity-level or Saint-level.
The birth of the half-human Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend, which is the origin of the Rhine Clan, occurred very early, less than a hundred years after the great war five thousand years ago.
The newly born Purple- Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend were born much later—strictly speaking, they are "Level Nine Magical Beast" because they possess a demonic core within their bodies, though some of their characteristics are Abyss. Their reproductive rate is naturally limited by the Laws of Heaven and Earth.
The five Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend that were lucky enough to survive had already spawned many offspring while in the Abyss, which resulted in a long period of time when no new Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend could be produced.
The first Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend to be born on the Yulan Continent was more than nine hundred years after the establishment of the Rhine Empire, more than a thousand years after the great war of that time.
At that time, the newly born Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend was regarded as a treasure by several old guys in Bloodshadow Valley. They selected peers with excellent aptitude from the Rhine Clan to form Equal Contract with the newborn Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend in order to help them grow better.
Dante was born with a pact with Edward.
As the number of Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend increased, this tradition was abolished.
Dante was in a bad mood today, Jason could tell from the smooth, blade-like face of the Bladewing Fiend.
Veronica and Linda brought out some food.
Edward coughed lightly. "Hey, Dante's not in a good mood today, so I brought him out for a walk."
"What happened?" Jason asked tentatively.
"That girl, Ailin, has been kidnapped by a filthy man!" Dante's voice was hoarse, filled with intense resentment.
"???" Jason asked, his face full of question marks, "Isn't it normal for Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend to mate?"
"But that was a human! A human man, and an old fellow over five thousand years old, older than me!" Dante slammed his hand on the table, grabbed a plate of food, and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Humans? Kidnapping Demon? Who is that?! That's quite a taste!" Jason's eyes widened.
Veronica and the others beside her were also shocked.
Edward explained, "A human Saint Warrior over five thousand years old, said to be a remnant of the long-extinct Pouant Empire. He came to Crescent Island for training because of his good relationship with our Rhine Clan. About three years ago, Ailin was in danger while training in the surrounding waters and was rescued by that guy. Somehow, Ailin actually formed Equal Contract with that man!"
Dante, his face contorted with indignation, exclaimed, "If Jason and Ailin were to form a pact, I would absolutely support it. But a foreigner, and an old man over five thousand years old at that—if I weren't outmatched, I would definitely take his soul to my ancestors to refine the Soul Gold Bead!"
"The Pouant Empire?" Jason recalled for a moment. There was such an empire, which had been destroyed more than four thousand years ago. "It seems that Doehring Cowart was part of the Pouant Empire."
More than four thousand years ago, the Pouant Empire was to the west of the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts, and the Yulan Empire was to the east.
"How strong is that guy? He's over five thousand years old and still hasn't left the Yulan Continent?" Jason asked.
"He cultivates both water and light attributes, and is nicknamed ' Extreme Ice Sword Saint.' His water attribute is at the Saint-level Limit, and his light attribute is in the third tier of the Peak Saint." Edward shrugged.
Dante is still a bit short of the Saint-level Limit in his understanding of the laws, but with his racial talent and the Blood Blade on his back, he's not too far off. It seems this Extreme Ice Sword Saint has some strength; even Dante can't defeat him.
"Don't overthink it. Maybe Ailin just wants to repay a debt of gratitude. Besides, it's just an Equal Contract, not a lifelong commitment," Jason comforted her.
As soon as he finished speaking, Jason noticed that Dante's eyes had become even more resentful.
After finishing their meal, Edward and Dante, along with Jason and Veronica, flew off in one direction.
"I brought you here because of that Extreme Ice Sword Saint, oh, that guy's real Adelong. He invited us to hunt down a ' Unicorn Crystal Dragon.' I was worried Dante and Adelong would fight, so I called you along. With outsiders around, they'll be more discreet," Edward said.
"I see."
Jason roughly understood that Adelong wanted to ease tensions with Dante, so they could team up to hunt down a monster and strengthen their bond.
As for the Unicorn Crystal Dragon, Jason had heard from Ivan that it was a descendant of the "Crystal Dragon God," one of the three great dragon gods of that time.
The three great dragon gods from ten thousand years ago: the "Gold Dragon God," the "Calamity Dragon God," and the "Crystal Dragon God."
The Gold Dragon God's true form is the Saint-level Magical Beast, the Golden Dragon; the Calamity Dragon God is a naturally born Blood Dragon, currently has only one remaining. However, there is a hybrid offspring, the "Blood Jade Crystal Dragon." It is worth mentioning that the Spined Iron-Armored Dragon is a branch developed from a degraded and mutated individual of the Blood Jade Crystal Dragon.
As for the Crystal Dragon God, it is a mutated individual of the Frost Wyrm race. Although its talent is no weaker than that of a divine beast and it possesses talent, it is not a born divine beast. It belongs to the category of innate Saint-level magical beasts. The "Unicorn Crystal Dragon" is the direct descendant of the Crystal Dragon God.
The "Unicorn Crystal Dragon" possesses extraordinary talent and is considered one of the top magical beasts in the ocean.
"This Unicorn Crystal Dragon is entrenched on an island south of Crescent Island. Its Water Element and Darkness Element are both at the Saint-level Limit, and given its inherent talent, the four of us will have a tough time dealing with it. If things become unfavorable, remember to retreat promptly and don't linger in battle," Edward instructed.
Crescent Island is a renowned Saint-level training ground, and the distribution of powerful magical beasts in its vicinity has long been thoroughly investigated by our predecessors.
This is the Unicorn Crystal Dragon, also a "permanent boss" marked on the map.
The Saint-level from the Yulan Continent come to Crescent Island for training, and the Saint-level monsters from the surrounding seas also regard the area around Crescent Island as a testing ground.
In the Saint-level, whether human or magical beast, the goal is to become a god. Without the qualification to enter the Necropolis of the Gods, these Saint-level can only regard battles as an opportunity to break through to the Deity-level.
It's rare to find a Saint-level gathering place like Crescent Island. The surrounding seas are teeming with Saint-level sea beasts, many of whom have come from far away, just to spar with human Saint-level beings.
As for collecting souls in exchange for Blue Jade Fruit, only newly promoted Saint-level would do it, and their targets are mostly magical beasts below the Saint-level in the surrounding area. Older Saint-level have had enough time to improve their Divine Power, Blue Jade Fruit is not very attractive to them.
Sea creatures have a weak sense of racial identity and don't care much about such things.
In the distance, the figure of the Violet-Eyed Bladewing Fiend Ailin could already be seen, accompanied by a white-clad man with an icy expression and a "keep away" look on his face.
"The Extreme Ice Sword Saint? That's a cool name. Being too flamboyant in the Saint-level isn't a good thing," Jason thought to himself.
Knowing the original plot, Jason never considered the Saint-level to be a strong place, and naturally, he wouldn't give himself a flashy title while in the Saint-level.
