The black Hummer convoy made no stops, like a special forces team that had just completed a precise raid, driving through the streets that were gradually becoming busy in the early morning, and heading straight for the prestigious top-tier hospital in the city where Professor Liu Mingyuan worked.

The convoy stopped near the hospital's emergency room entrance. This time, apart from Li Jun and Monkey, the other henchmen remained quietly in the cars, not getting out. The atmosphere still carried the tension of the operation.

Li Jun was the first to push open the door and get out of the car. He went around to the other side and, together with Monkey, carefully carried the still unconscious Hou Xiaoya out of the back seat. The girl's light weight made Monkey's nose tingle again.

At the hospital entrance, Professor Liu was already waiting with several medical staff and a mobile hospital bed. Clearly, Lin Feng's prior communication and meticulous arrangements had been in place. Seeing Li Jun and Monkey carrying the person over, Professor Liu immediately gestured for the medical staff behind him to come forward.

"Quickly, be careful," Professor Liu whispered.

Two nurses skillfully took Hou Xiaoya from her and gently placed her on a clean bed, quickly covering her with a blanket. Another doctor immediately began checking her vital signs.

"Xiaoya!" The Monkey watched as his younger sister was placed on the hospital bed and instinctively wanted to follow her.

A thick, powerful arm blocked his way.

It was Li Jun. He shook his head at Monkey, the Scar on his face appearing somewhat softer under the hospital lights. "Don't worry, Monkey. Mr. Lin has already made arrangements, and Professor Liu is here too. Xiaoya will be fine here."

He glanced at the Monkey's bloodshot eyes, haggard face, and slightly trembling body, and said with a hint of concern:

"Look at you, haven't slept all night again? Your eyes are all bloodshot. Take my advice, don't let Xiaoya be alright while you've already worn yourself out. Come on, I'll take you to get something to eat first, fill your stomach, and then we'll find a place for you to get a good night's sleep."

Seeing the lingering worry on the Monkey's face, Li Jun added, "Don't worry about this side, I've got my men keeping an eye on things here." He turned and beckoned to the two henchmen waiting by the car, whispering a few instructions. The two henchmen immediately nodded, quickly walked into the hospital lobby, and followed the mobile hospital bed being pushed towards the ward.

"Brother Jun, I..." Monkey wanted to insist, he really couldn't bear to leave his sister even for a moment.

Li Jun leaned closer, lowered his voice, and said in a volume only the two of them could hear, "Monkey, use your brain. We just caused quite a scene at Ankang Hospital, snatching someone, drawing knives, it was no small feat. Do you think this matter can be settled so easily? Will the other side let it go? Won't the police come knocking?"

He patted Monkey on the shoulder, his eyes sharp. "You're too conspicuous staying in the hospital right now, it's not appropriate. Listen to me, call your parents first and tell them to come and watch over Xiaoya. They're her immediate family, so it's perfectly legitimate. As for you, come with me and let's lay low for a while."

Upon hearing this, Monkey's heart skipped a beat, and he instantly understood Li Jun's concerns. Yes, Ankang Hospital would definitely not let them off easily; calling the police was inevitable. If he stayed at the hospital and the police came looking for him, it would indeed be troublesome. He gave Li Jun a grateful look; this seemingly rough and tough man was surprisingly thoughtful.

Without further hesitation, he immediately walked to the side, took out his phone, and called his parents. He briefly explained that his sister had been safely transferred to a better hospital and asked them to come as soon as possible. As for the details, he only vaguely mentioned that they had encountered kind people who helped them.

After hanging up the phone, Monkey walked over to Li Jun and nodded.

Li Jun said no more, gestured to one of his men to hand him the car Key, and then instructed the others, "You stay here and follow Professor Liu's instructions. Protect Xiaoya, and call immediately if anything happens."

"Yes, Brother Jun!" the henchmen replied in unison.

Li Jun then opened the driver's side door of a Hummer and gestured for Monkey to get in. This time, he didn't bring any of his henchmen; it was just the two of them.

The vehicle drove away from the hospital and merged into the traffic. Li Jun didn't head towards any luxury hotel, but instead drove around in a winding road until he arrived at an ordinary restaurant that looked to be doing good business and had a fairly clean environment. He asked for a quiet private room.

When ordering, Li Jun unceremoniously ordered several hearty dishes and a bottle of baijiu (Chinese liquor). Monkey, on the other hand, had no appetite at all and simply followed Li Jun's lead, ordering two dishes at random.

The dishes were served quickly. Li Jun picked up his chopsticks and began to eat heartily, his movements bold and unrestrained, as if the harrowing scene at the hospital had never happened. Monkey, however, held his chopsticks, looking at the table full of food, chewing on them like wax. His heart was filled with worry for his sister and uncertainty about the future. He mechanically and half-heartedly ate, barely managing to eat a bite.

Li Jun glanced at him, picked up a large piece of braised pork and put it in his mouth. He chewed and mumbled, "Don't act like the sky is falling. Xiaoya is already halfway to safety with Professor Liu. What you need to do now is conserve your energy and calm your mind."

He put down his chopsticks, picked up his wine glass, took a sip, his expression turned serious, and looking at Monkey, he lowered his voice and said, "Monkey, listen, in a moment... no matter who comes to you, no matter what they ask you, just remember one thing—"

He leaned forward, his eyes piercing, and explained, word by word:

"I am your creditor. We got together last September because you were desperate after your sister got sick, and you borrowed money from me, which you haven't paid back. I went to the hospital to see you this time mainly to see if what you said about your sister being seriously ill is true, and whether you're trying to renege on your debt. Understand?"

The Monkey paused for a moment, then realized that this was an attempt to find a plausible explanation for their actions that day, one that could withstand an official investigation. He nodded vigorously, memorizing Li Jun's words. "Last September... borrowing money... creditor... I understand, Brother Jun."

A silence fell over the private room, broken only by the sounds of Li Jun eating and drinking. Monkey remained listless, anxiously awaiting the next move, as if it were the calm before a storm.

Sure enough, not long after.

"Knock knock knock--"

There was a knock on the door of the private room.

Before the person inside could respond, the door was pushed open from the outside.

Three men in police uniforms with serious expressions walked in. The one in the lead was a police officer in his thirties with sharp eyes. His gaze quickly swept across the private room and settled on Monkey and Li Jun.

The lead officer pulled out his police badge from his jacket pocket and showed it to the two men, his voice calm and authoritative.

"Hello, we are police officers from Changyang Police Station."

His gaze fell on the Monkey's young face, which was etched with fatigue and tension, and he asked:

"Excuse me, who is Hou Jun?"
